Good lord. I am having a tough time keeping up. I just went form positive vibes to worst fears confirmed. We hired another individual with zero experience in college athletics as the Athletic Director. WTF are they thinking.
dr. saturday has nothing about schiano, neither on yahoo nor on twitter. so the only source is 24/7 sports, who said "an offer has been made" and nothing more.

I do work in media for those that know me (over at MSG Networks) so I'm trying to confirm this too with people I trust but I just saw that schiano accepted stuff on several confirmed Twitter accts of college football reporters and 24/7 (which was free info not premium or anything on their mobile app)
this is, by all accounts, a home run hire. read about what he did at seton hall. inside ear to governor's office. great fundraiser. long time lawyer and dean of seton hall law -- this prepares us for any NCAA fallout wrt "the other investigation".

well 24/7 is owned and operated by CBS Sports this isnt some mom and pop site, you get that right? of course they can be wrong but lets not make it sound like this is some joe schmo who wrote "hey i think rutgers may get greg schiano back". and i dont have a 24/7 premium account, this can be easily accessed for free. you know what, forget it, this is why this board is putrid, you come here with info from a reputable site that is AVAILABLE FOR FREE and people go "oh its not real". never change scarlet nation.
Yeah, well Luther Campbell just tweeted 25 mins ago that Schiano has interviewed for Miami job. Reaction is quite harsh.

Depends on the budget. If we are going medium to small, then I'd prefer Babers or Rhule or someone along those lines. An up-and-comer w/a habit of winning games.
Okay cool. You're reasonable. I wouldn't mind either hires. I think Babers still has a bit more to prove still though... and he's not going to have the kind of recruiting edge or defensive skill as Schiano. Apparently, Rhule is up for a bidding war, with multiple suitors, so I don't know if we'd be in the running for that. Likewise, we'd be stuck the fact that if he does really well here, he'd go to Penn State, because he's ultimately loyal to them above anyone else.

barchi's letter said hobbs would "lead" the search, and hobbs just said that he will treat the search like any search he's made before. does that sound like a search that was finished before hobbs was even hired?
it sounds like a man trying to put his own stamp on it, for better or for worse. again -- i'm hoping schiano is a done deal, but given these statements, it doesn't look to be the case.

I never said Schiano accepted. And there are others on the RT that have said Schiano was offered. You clearly don't know how these things work. You don't ever announce you've offered someone until they accept. Novice
A guy like Hobbs is astute enough not to give the press anything. BRchi has proven this too. Still can't believe what he is pulling off.
of course you don't announce that you've offered someone. but nor do you announce that the new guy will lead the search, and the new guy says he will treat it like every search he's made in the past. not if the offer has already been made to someone the new guy has no connection to and no experience with.
i guess we'll find out. if schiano has been offered and rejects, 247sports will have slammed the egg into RU's face.
