This defense is going to have big problems in the B1G schedule. They can't cover downfield....assume Indiana will throw for 350 yds plus. They won't stop the run against all the physical teams. A really bad situation. I see maybe 3 or 4 wins tops. It's unfortunate...they had to jettison all their top, experienced secondary players. No real pass rush either. They are going to give up very huge numbers to MSU, OSU, Wisc,,,etc.

I think we can only count on one more win for sure with Army. Maryland is looking pretty bad too, but that game is so long from now who knows what either team will look like?

It blows my mind that we cannot run a nickel package out there in any obvious pass situations. I am tired of watching LBs trying to cover WR lined up in the slot. They give great effort, but they are not fast enough to do that.

I will pass on going to the broken toy room for the moment. What I saw today was a very young team out on the field today on both sides of the ball. They appear to have some talent and they play hard.

Perhaps the more appropriate prospective is to compare where we are today versus how we end the season. To me, that is a better measure of progress.

Too many on this board simply have unrealistic expectations about the players or the team. Enjoy the game for what it is and not what you want it to be.

Your last point is fair but who brought those players here, and is ultimately responsible for the team?

Certainly HCKF is responsible for how the team plays and is paid well for that responsibility. My point is that he has a young team with few returning players and fewer with actual game experience. And he has lost his two best positional players.

Measuring this team's progress should be based on their body of work over a season and not a game by game basis. Let's remember we have had one quality year out of the past twenty or so. I, like everyone else am looking forward to the second one.

RU has had several quality years 2006 and 2012. That 12 team was a bad officiating call from going to a BCS Bowl. Right now 8-4 is as good as it is going to get even with a really good experienced team, our average year for the next 4-5 years will be 5-7 wins until we get the resources to hire big time coaches, and even then there is no guarantee given NJ lukewarm response and lack of winning tradition and the negative NJ media. This is the reality, if you are looking for something different you should start rooting for another team!

It's not surprise that the team is not good after losing so many starters including their 2 best players on each side of the ball.

3-9 most likely with the outside chance of 4-8.

Start fresh in December for next season.
