Good for them. They are the 2 seed at Oregon. They play BYU. They play Thursday-Saturday because BYU can't play on Sundays.

Another note: SEC has three top 8 national seeds (Bama, Florida and Tennessee). Georgia is also hosting a regional. Texas A&M and Missouri are also national seeds, coming into the SEC next year. SEC gets nine of its 11 teams in the field. (Ole Miss and South Carolina out, Vandy doesn't play) Bottom line, the SEC is focused on dominating everything.

And Washington started out 34-1 and finished 4-16, and get the host opposite the #1 overall seed, Cal. That has to be a serious meltdown.

Louisville is 53-3 and the #15 seed overall. That's a ridiculous record.

And Florida has a pitcher that is hot.

After having the opportunity to talk to Coach Vann on a couple of occasions, I believe she is going to win big wherever she is whether it be MSU or elsewhere.

As a side note, she hates Bama and would love to kick their *** on a national level and thinks we can.

I assume she hates bama after the way things went down with Murphy at the end of last season, leaving and then returning in 3 days. Did she elaborate on that situation any? She was at least a good sport on TV and didn't show any animosity towards Murphy when they were on the field together.

after he took off for LSU. They were getting ready to announce her and Murphy decided he wanted to come back. Things did not go well. It was a home run hire to get her, and like I said a couple weeks ago - let Vann get a couple of top notch pitchers on staff and we have a national contender.

Hell, the regional we are in is not unthinkable to win it. Oregon is on par with Georgia and we took two of three from Georgia. Texas is the Florida State of softball - they choke in the regional. They have a tough one as well, and we would host anyone but Texas in a Super Regional.

Now, we couldn't compete at the World Series quite yet, but we have an interesting bracket. Its basically going to come down to whether we can beat Oregon Friday. I think we can.

Seems like the better programs, local to us at least, are teams in AL, TN, and GA when it comes to softball.
