I think the fans are waiting to rally around a winner. Today should have good feelings all around. A big part of the fans discontent was they saw no way out of the mess. They knew Eichorst would never fire Mike. With Eichorst canned, now it is about one thing: winning. It makes the pathway forward a simple one. If Mike wins this year, awesome. If he doesn't, it's time to move forward without him.

I agree. I'm rooting for him. He represents the Program, the University & the State exceptionally well. He just needs to get this team prepared to play on Saturdays. It hasn't looked good. I'm hoping the change starts today.

In a lot of ways this is a gift to Riley. SE's stink is off of him and now he can just coach to win games. I think it makes him far looser, the players can play with abandon, and even the fans can feel better knowing that they don't have to keep a losing coach around because the AD would never fire him. I think this helps the fans get on Riley's side.
