No ****? I love that guy. I've got a Jerry Reed CD in my CD player in my truck right now. Lord, Mr. Ford, what have you done?

....he'd hunt alligators for a livin'....he'd just knock 'em in the head with a stump.

First Buck Owens, now Jerry Reed. Country music is dead.

.....I'm the brother of a truck-driving mother boogity, boogity, boogity, boogity. ...

Burt, Sally, Jackie, and Jerry...the perfect cast for that movie.

I saw Jerry Reed perform at the "dirt mall" depicted in Kevin Smith's Mallrats somewhere along Route 1 back around 1990-something. He was brought in apparently by the sports/toy memorabilia guy, who normally used his stage for autograph signings of the Dudley Boys, Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, or whoever the Giants long snapper from the last Super Bowl was.</p>

There was a sizable crowd around the stage, but nothing compared to the mobs of folks elbowing their way booth to booth to pick up car effects, samurai swords, and wall-sized nudie posters.</p>

The performance was him, a bar stool, and a guitar and he couldn't have been more forgiving of the situation. He tore through a hootin' version of one song, "US Male" I think, and started to tell an Elvis story as follows:</p>

"Yeah, so me and Elvis Presley are--whoa a minute, looks like there's a few children around. Well, use your imaginations folks. Especially you ladies."</p>

When he was done, he even wandered around a couple of the booths cracking jokes with a gaggle of folks following. All in all, a pretty good show. Good songs, well delivered--like Dolly Parton without the tits.
