I thought you were talking about MSU.

#GoldenEggDome

Me too, Lawdawg. I was getting excited. I was seriously wondering if there was a "priority" order to the uni designs.....and now I finally got my answer. It seems State is in Notre Dame's shoes & their Michigan is our "A&M". CLEARLY, aTm get the sharper of all maroon/white uni concepts. I think it'd be sweet if we paired up with Under Armour.

South Carolina, Texas Tech, & a few more. But you're proving the point as to why I like the idea of switching to UA: no "priorities" above us!! We could actually have an identity that we wouldn't have to compete for. As I said before, it's clear who gets the best Maroon/White Adidas gear in our conference [let alone- in the West]. IT SUCKS! We're treated like a maroon-headed step-child! Under Armour would have us all to themselves. Plus, I really like their apparel.

UA stuff looks cheap and tacky...

but I guess you can't really mess up blue/white jerseys and gold pants.

Agreed. I think Stricklin will see it as marketing guy. We will never be able to distinguish ourselves from A&M if we're both with ADIDAS, because we look so similar.

I will be shocked if we ever leave Adidas in the next few years from us interviewing Stricklin on the radio.

This, and UA sucks. Have any of you ever put on a pair of UA cleats? Cardboard.

Look, I'm pissed about the A&M **** too (just give us the same **** as Tennessee but maroon!) but Adidas is #2 behind Nike. We're not getting Nike, so give me Adidas. The only thing I could think of would be to ask Adidas if we could sport Reebok. I can't remember who but there was a big program who wore Reebok a while back... And I was a big fan of their NFL gear, more so than the Nike stuff. Adidas is Reebok. Reebok is Adidas.

Only realistic change coming. We're stuck with Adidas for better or worse unless we somehow pull off the Cinderella story in '14 and Nike offers us a payday.

Matter of opinion, but I think they have some of the best uniforms in the SEC

Ive heard this several times... Noone has explained why this is. I can not believe that UA would refuse a partnership.

Come on Chill. All those uni's suck. USC look good? Texas Tech's? Yuck. Give me ours any day over that. And as someone else mentioned, their footwear is terrible. Adidas has given us more uniform designs than most any other program in the country. I hate the white stripe on the helmets, but other than that, I tend to like the uniforms. If I remember, there is a helmet out there that looks pretty damn sharp that they worked with us on.

that bear is a big shot for ua. same dude that was pushing the ms boys to ole miss (when cj johnson, brassell, and singleton all went that year at the ua all star game)...thats my guess as to why.

under armor is about the same level as adidas in my mind as far as uniforms....their niche is performance under garments, not necessarily uniforms....not that it matters that much because its not that difficult to cross that boundary obviously. still, nike is king and then there is everyone else. can we make this all go away by making nike a cake or something?

Also in regards to sponsorships how does Baylor do..Adidas-Basketball, Nike-Football, and UA-baseball? I've never really been able to understand that..When we were russell for football we had adidas basketball gear...why couldn't we do this with Nike?

USM has UA for baseball, Russell for everything else.

Adidas would never allow it to happen now. Baylor made a deal with the devil.

But seriously, if any of you who want UA ever put on a pair of their cleats you'll change your mind. Crap. Might as well wear Wilson garbage from Academy at that point.

Nike, Adidas..... Then UA............................. THEN Russell. Adidas stuff is great, we all just hate them because of the unpersonalized stuff they push on us. I put that more on OUR athletic department than Adidas. Funny how Strick & Co tell us that Adidas designed our A&M stuff but Mullen tells Adidas he wants gold helmets at the last minute based on some samples they had sent over.

In my personal life I will buy Nike 9/10 times and occasionally pick up some Adidas. Climalite is great. No one would be discussing anyone else if we didn't have maxi pads on our helmet and shoulders.

Seriously though, someone write a letter to their board of directors informing them that they aren't trying to wrap up the entire collegiate football market and that it's due to this one guy if this is really true. He'd be forced out that week.

In business, nobody wants only part of a market or turns down sales because of a school rivalry.

I agree. Fix the ugly white stripe on the helmets and shoulders and I'd be content. For one thing, our adidas fan apparel sold through the retailers is some of the best quality I've seen with MSU's logo on it. It looks very stylish compared to the old Russell and Nike stuff we used to have to buy. I was under the impression that Under Armor was best of breed for only their compression undergarments. Everything else they make looks pretty cheap compared to the Nike's, Reeboks, and Adidas of the world.

Agree. Adidas gave us great uniforms the first 3 years of the agreement and **** the last 2 years. I'm fine with renewing with them as long as we make it clear we're through taking the crap uniforms they've given us the last 2 years. If you look around, Adidas isn't the only company that's had some ugly uniforms out there. There are plenty of Nike and UA examples too.

Grass is always greener.

If I was some random guy and looked at the MSU uniforms I'd probably say "hey, those look pretty good"... but I'm a fan that knows those are ripoffs of A&M and that stripes on helmets are a no-no with us.

I'm a random guy when I look at South Carolina, Baylor, and a couple other UA/Nike schools I think either meh or that they're ugly. USC's suck. Not a fan. AU's look good though. Baylor's look like USM jerseys, but obviously Alabama's and some other Nike schools look bad ***.

Again, it falls on US... not Adidas. I live and work in New York and I see more TAMU gear than any single team maybe other than ND and it's all Adidas. MSU will never get their star treatment, so if that's what we're complaining about we need to start buying Adidas stuff in bulk... Otherwise we just need our athletic department to say to Adidas "no, this is the same **** you gave the aggies." I don't think they'd have a problem at all of giving us the same thing Tennessee has in our color scheme if we simply told them that's what we want.

We need new tops and helmets in football. That's it. Plain and simple. Everything else is great.

AU has one of the classiest uniforms in the NCAA to me. With ND second and maybe Michigan 3rd. But footwear from UA is horrible. My 12 yr old can tear a pair of UA shoes up in a week.

The stripe less helmet always set State teams apart from the others. Everybody has that stupid *** stripe. Now we have it. It's dumb. It looks high schoolish. Always prefer the solid color helmet

Says you and 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of State fans. I could even live with the shoulder stripes if not for the helmet stripe. Everyone hates the stripe. If not for everything you said plus the 80's, Croom.

yeah, the all-coveted contract with mississippi state. clearly, we are in the drivers seat with athletic apparel outfitters and suppliers. we just decided to throw russell athletic a bone during the croom years (probably saved their company with our generous action). how much did adidas stock rise again after they inked us?

rubbing somebody wrong is why we cant get in good with nike again....or at least why we are a long shot. its a competitive, yet VERY limited market....all one company has to do is outbid the other two and provide the minimum. if they dont want us, it will be exceedingly apparent in the bid. dont underestimate someone with a highly regarded preconceived negative opinion in a limited market.

thing is, how often do you see some nike sponsored university say "gee, maybe next year when our contract is up, we will get what we want from adidas because these nike ******** only give us ****"? not very often, if ever...grass is always greener, unless you have nike grass, in which case, if its not green enough, its because you are color blind or put down too much fertilizer.
