If I had to make a list of things that annoy me about golf and golf tournaments that might be about number 1496.

Aim point on every putt is getting close to #1 for me, almost as annoying as batters who step out of the box to readjust their batting gloves after every pitch , even if they didn't swing
I can promise you the second I ever tried Aim Point while playing with my buddies I would get ridiculed for eternity. I think it's a stretch even for pros because most of them still can't putt with it (talking to you Colin, Adam, Max, etc).

Rory just completed the career slam, and at the moment, is not even taking a practice stroke with his putter, so seems like Aim Point is a waste of time . . .

Aim point, claw grip, long putter, chest anchor or close, forearm brace (Bryson), plum bob, LH low, umpteen styles of putter heads, multitude of stances/practice strokes. They can all hit it a mile using virtually the same equipment but then the fun begins on the greens....lol.

I will say that Bryson's putting style actually does work especially for us older folks who have gotten a little yippy with the putter. I still sport the Scottie but starting to warm up to the L.A.B. putters.

This post is for the mid-high handicappers.

I've had a set of Callaway X20 irons and a TM R7 driver for 15(?) years. Recently played a set of TM Qi irons and driver while on vacation.

For those contemplating an upgrade: there is a HUGE difference. I'm hitting these clubs almost 10 yards further. The distance I've lost due to age has been partially made up: the difference is AMAZING.

Houston Oaks this morning....course was in great shape. Brutal rough as expected w/ the recent rain. Greens recently punched but came back nicely, rolled true and fast. Course is easily the best layout in Central KY, public or private.

Homa former caddie on bag for JT.

Riveting weekend of golf.

Never thought I would see "Won't Get Fooled Again" used in a Titleist Golf Ball commercial. Keith Moon is rolling over in his grave. :)

Rory great at Quail Hollow, Thomas won a major there, Spieth will try for career grand slam and Scheffler lurking. Should be a very interesting PGA.

It is a sweet jacket.

How will Quail be different from what they have played last few years to make it major worthy? Is it already major worthy?

It's already held a major...JT won PGA in 17, and a Pres. Cup in 22. QH has been one of the tour's fav tracks since its inception back in the old Kemper Open days and JT has said it's his fav, and it's no secret how Rory feels about it.

Lass and I are good friends with Teater and his wife. He’s having a stellar season, couldn’t be happier for him after the last few years. Really hoping he sustains this and gets his card back.

I’m in a group text with him and some other guys, and near the end of the last college baseball season he showed us a picture of his new driver cover, a lion wearing a pink bucket hat like a lot of the UK players wear in the dugout (he’s a huge UK Baseball fan). I like to think that is part of his newfound success. 😂

You’re probably right, I just haven’t kept up with all of the rule changes for getting and maintaining your card. It seems like I read they made some pretty significant ones that make it a a lot more difficult now to do so, though. I think I read they reduced the total numbers also.

But I could be wrong about all of that.

Think they reduced it to top 20 in points but he’s in second and I don’t see him falling past that.

Glad for Andrew Novak (who I was walking scorer for one round at Barbasol two years ago) to get his first win. He and Griffin get the typical Off Week benefits, two year exemption, 400 Fed Ex points, and PGA invite, but not Masters. At this rate, he will qualify for the Masters next year anyway.

I did not get to watch much of the Zurich event though, but I like the format, hardly ever see alternate shot, but it is fun to watch.

Like to see more star power team up (like Rory and Lowery) but it’s in a tough spot on the schedule for those caliber players to play in it plus it’s a good event for lesser known players to shine in.

Same here. Dude had lost his last 2 tournaments in a playoff. Brutal. He knocked and knocked on the door, then kicked the sumbitch in. He hits it a mile. He (Novak) does get a little shaky on the closing holes, maybe this will cure that. The Hojgaard twins (both really talented and will be stars), I thought they had a shot to get it to a playoff. Left the birdie putt on the lip after a bad tee shot on the par 3. Got a little luck on the tee shot at 18 hitting a mile left behind the concessions tent, managed to still birdie 18. Same for the other team (Kapp / Capan), until they splashed it on the par 3. Made a nice save for bogey though. Then they had a bad chip on the 3rd shot (fluffed it 20 yards right into the front bunker) having to settle for a 5 on the par 5 cost them a shot at the playoff. Really shaky coming in, bogey / par with a terrible tee shot on the par 3 and approach on the par 5 really was nerves.

How about Chandler Phillips ? Dude takes off his shirt and shoes (nice farmers tan), hits a great shot from the weeds / water on his approach and his teams nearly makes an improbable birdie. All while the gators was circling the waters in front of him. Great shot and nearly pulled off the miracle birdie.

Hisatsune / Kanaya team **** the bed after while at the top of the leaderboard by bogeying 12/15 , double bogey at 17 hitting into the water and then only managing par at the finishing par 5 18th. Was at -26 tied for the lead and finished +4 over the last 7 holes. Novak / Griffin gave them a chance only shooting -1 on the back 9, but they self destructed. Went from tied for the lead to tied for 18th, ouch ! Final round +3, 75.
Not as bad as Cam Davis / Adam / Svensson final round 78, +6. Started the day -22, tied for 6th. Finished 28th.

JT Poston was the biggest gainer on the day, going from 36th to tied for 18th with a final round 65 (low round for the day).

DJ and Rickie Fowler getting invites to the PGA. Awful. Lifetime Achievement Awards? In Rickie's case, what has he achieved. In the scheme of things, I could see DJ but Rickie's biggest victory was 10 years ago, The TPC.

Where did you see the awards? Just seeing folks say Fowler is getting the invite to draw in more fans.
