Way too soon to tell. He still has 15 majors and 57 wins to go to match Jack. Players get hot and then fade, i.e. Spieth. They said the same thing about Rory after he won his 4th major at Valhalla in 2014. It took him nearly 11 years to win another. Scottie has all the tools and certainly the composure to continue for a long time. We'll see.
I think he does. He will get to 19 majors and 74 wins at least.
Anybody see the way they set up #15 at Erin Hills on Saturday? Turned it into a drivable par 4 (260 yards) but with a ridiculous pin position when the greens were rolling 13.5 on the stimp. One woman was putting for eagle and made a double bogey. Players hated it (naturally) but in addition to the difficulty, it slowed play down to a crawl, had like 3 groups on the hole most of the afternoon. They said they did the same thing for the men in 2017, but I don't remember it. It was fun to watch, but not sure it was a great idea in hindsight.
It played to a 4.5 on Saturday, which was the shortest the hole played all week. I guess the USGA didn't care for the 3.8 it played on Friday at 100 yards longer and they needed to pull their tricks out of their bag.
You never know about these things but Scottie seems destined to win the Grand Slam and probably 6-8 majors if not more. Putting is probably the only weakness that could pop up for him because he is arguably the best ball striker on the planet now. So many traits to Tiger in getting leads and letting the field make the mistakes. Elite mental game.
It was a very stacked field. I think I read EVERY top 25 player EXCEPT Rory. Oh and by the way, Rory has been in MOST of the tournaments Scotty has won. There was plenty of talent in the field. He is just playing that good.
I tell you what I wish, I wish Scheffler had been back up to "par" from his surgery before he played in the Masters. If he was, Rory would still be looking for that career Grand Slam.
By the way, Rory caught a lot of **** for not playing in the Memorial. He didn't even bother to call the Golden Bear to tell him personally.
Was very surprising IF true ( and i have no reason to believe Jack lied) considering Jack has really helped him out quite a bit. Make the call.
Agree on all points. But will add AT TIMES, he starts hitting the driver left off the tee. He can get a little erratic with the Big Stick. But putting is his "weakest" link. If he is putting only average for the 4 days, it is lights out, everyone else is playing for 2nd. To me, Saturdays is what separates him from the rest of the field, literally. He usually just "hangs around" Thursday and Friday, then Saturday makes the big move (the call it moving day for a reason), then kind of coast home on Sunday.
On Saturday he was just kind of cruising along, had 13 straight pars, them BAM, birdies 4 of the last 5 holes and makes the big move. Went from around 10th at -4, to the leader at -8 in the final 5 holes. A big reason he wins also is he just has the fortitude to reach down deep when he is struggling and makes some really important par saves. Nobody really talks that part of his winning, Friday and early Saturday, he didn't have his "A" game, and survived by saving par on several holes. Like Tiger said so well, "Anybody can win when they are playing their A game, the great ones can win when they pay their B or C games".

I actually hit a nice little golf parlay yesterday. Had Scheffler under 4.5 birdies or better (3), over 11 pars (14), Ben Griffin over 3.5 birdies or better (4), Sepp Straka over 3.5 birdies or better (4), and Ludvig Aberg over 10.5 pars (12). $10 wager paid me $200.
Shane Lowry cost me one parlay, over 11 pars (10), and Ryan Fox another, over 3.5 birdies (2).

Scottie was 100% at Augusta. He finished second (1 shot back) at the Houston Open 2 weeks prior. Oh...he bested Rory by 4 shots that week.
9th at Pebble and 3rd at Torrey earlier in the year.

Maybe so, but he took 2 weeks in between the Players and the Houston Open. 3 weeks in between the Genesis and the Arnold Palmer. I know he planned to skip the tournament (Valero Texas Open) before the Masters, but he doesn't normally take 2/3 weeks off between events.
From February 12th (start of the Genesis, his 3rd tournament since surgery), until March 26th (start of the Houston Open), his 6th tournament), he had 5 weeks off. That is NOT normal. He while was "back", he was still trying to ease back into playing. Lets see if he takes 3 weeks in between tournaments again this year. I beat he doesn't. He likes to play 4/5 in a row. He doesn't skip events constantly. Though he had some good finishes, that much time off didn't HELP his game.

Yes, unfortunately just a few years ago. From inside ten yards, I was 50-50 to get the ball on the green. All I can tell you is that I got over it mainly by practicing and changing my technique a bit, if only to do something different.
Now I specialize in terrible wedge shots from 60-90 yards.
