dawgstudent and his partner won the 3.5 mens doubles.
fishwater and his partner won the 3.5 mens doubles consolation bracket.
patdog and former poster MrMeoff won the 3.0 mens doubles consolation bracket.
and a lurker and his partner lost in the 3.5 mens doubles consolation final.

There may have been others, but these are the ones I know of. A good time was had by all and congrats to the winners.

the Nadal of the fat man nation. And he has quick feet, as evidenced in the Running of the Bulls last year. Congrats to him.

They came from 2-8 down in the 3rd set tiebreaker (first to 10 wins) to win it. I hadn't been paying attention and went up to them with my, "good match guys sorry you came up a little short" speech. His partner quickly corrected me.

Then when I asked him who he was, he said he just reads but never posts.

As for what meoff is doing this fall, I don't have any idea. He played with us this spring, but I'm pretty sure he won't be playing on that team this fall (actually, I'll be moving to a different team for the fall myself). I haven't even discussed it with him at all.

I saw you play last fall when y'all played us. You look like a pretty good player.

thanks for the compliment, but i've only been playing a few years, and not enough to actually be consistent. if my serve is not on, then i'm in trouble. i wish i could've played this weekend, but already had stuff scheduled. i'll be sure to get in next year. hopefully i'll be out there this fall. i'll call meoff and try to catch on with somebody.

...someone help me make sense of this. I think the only explanation is that DS has Federer as a doubles partner. Since DS has questionably a 3.5 rating, they had to put them in the 3.5 bracket. Props to the big victory and would love to see video evidence.

could make it past the Yuku censors. Women and children actually fled the scene in tears. You'll just have to take our word for it. I will say this, he did have a good partner, but he played well also.

DS has quick hands at the net,a solid first serve and a great forehand.
I do not have any video evidence, but there is always next year.

The beer was following all weekend, there was plenty of eye-candy there too, there were female events also.
Carl Nichols was there serving lunch on Saturday, now that's a big chef, he was pissed that DS took his XXXXL t-shirt..
Even if you don't play, be sure to come out next year and support those who do, drink a beer and get a MSU t-shirt.

Just joined the board, didn't realize there were tennis players on here.
By the way, my partner and I made the finals of the 4.0 draw last year that got rained out and never got our gift certificate. So... somebody owes me a trip to ParkerHouse, haha.
