Evans is attacking. I'm watching in all the glory of the tour tracker from the website. Recording it to watch later, but I don't really care if anyone spoils the results.

does it seem to anyone else that the picture quality is not as good as previous years? When the tour was on Versus, it seemed to be better, but at the same time I would have thought they just renamed the channel. Anyone know?

They had the rights when it was Versus as well, but I was never under the impression that they took cameras over there. I think everyone who holds the rights in whatever country uses France 2 and 3's video, and just has their own commentators doing a broadcast. Paul and Phil are on in the US and Australia I believe. Probably on any English speaking channels anywhere I'd imagine. So I don't know what could be causing that, but it more than likely has nothing to do with NBC Sports cameras.

is that in previous years Paul and Phil would always mention the "great picture quality in HD with versus" when they were showing their shots from the helicopter. This year, the only thing I've heard them say about the picture is apologizing for glitches with the picture. I think something is up and we should ***** about it to whoever needs to know.

It makes for some great people watching and I'm sure the energy is incredible in a venue like that, but if you are a cyclist, that has to be annoying as hell having some crazy fan sprinting next to you and getting in your face while you are pushing up a 12 degree incline...

1. Wiggins probably just won the tour, assuming he handles Stages 16 and 17
2. Team Sky or the Brits have a hell of a doping program

it is time for Froome to report to doping control? Either this kid is two years away from dominating the sport, or he has got to be getting some help. To spend this long driving the pace and to do the time trial that he did. Unbelievable. Literally.

on the big climbs...
Contador says back off

It is amazing how close the fans can get to the racers. I surprised there aren't more collisions although the sprint finishes have barriers walling off the fans.
