That guy has a weak arm, and he's not confident making the longer throw from short to first. He needs to be a 2nd baseman.
I know that has nothing to do with his DUI, but the end result of this will be that he's forced to sit out the first weekend or first handful of games for the season, and then he'll be back. Such was the case when Miles Franklin and Mark Wright had similar issues.
I'll be curious to see how Cohen handles things like this when it comes up, since he apparently brought in a no drinking policy. I'm guessing that out of 35 guys at a small town college, you'll have the occasional MIP, DUI, or public intox charge come up. I'll be curious to see if he starts booting people from the team for those type of things.
