Anybody priced eggs lately? I bought 18 Sunday at our local grocery store and they were $13.25. Crazy

They're blaming trump for the price of eggs, oblivious to the fact so many chicken houses had to be killed off due to bird flu.
Weren’t Biden supporters saying the same thing in the last few months he was POTUS?

My alarm didn’t go off this morning. It’s Trump’s fault. A month ago it was Biden’s fault. People just like to paint the world simply so having one single bad guy responsible for every problem you have is just easier. In reality we know who screwed my alarm up…..

Crazy. May be regional in the state. May have been that store just gouging. But 18 xl eggs were $13.25. My folks are shut ins and I stopped by to pick them up a few things.
I thought that maybe Kroger was using them as a loss leader but Walmart here has them for about the same price as well.

I bought 24 at Sam's week before last for $8.50. Thought something crazy had happened to run them up, when I bought those Sunday for my folks.

Bought a dozen of extra large at Kroger. 4.39.
Bought a dozen at Kroger in Madison for about $4.50. Wouldn't have even paid any attention to the price if I hadn't seen everyone freaking out about the cost of eggs. Waffle House is just using this to price gouge its customers. There's no way its costs have gone up by more than maybe a dime per egg.

Kroger will raise the prices on something else to keep price lower on other stuff. They do it a lot with cereal. One day Captain Crunch king size will be 7.00 and the Frosted Flank will be 4,99 then a few days later it will be just the opposite. I don't buy a lot of eggs, but I have notice price fluxgates a bunch. It's a good strategy. Word gets out eggs are cheap at Kroger than they are buying other things that are jacked up in price.

Are y'all really paying that much attention to how much you're paying for eggs? Is it just because of the state of egg prices or were you paying attention prior to eggflation?

I just wish our government was a dependable as Waffle House.
I've spent my career working in big bloated corporations - countless hours of stale trainings to build team skills and all that. All the buzz words, concepts, and classes you could ever think of. 20 minutes of having a meal at the counter and watching the line at Waffle House during peak hours is all you need to see to tell what does and doesn't work. And they are usually nailing it. When Waffle House is running on all cylinders it's a show if you asked me.

Low income folks and businesses operating on small margins are getting pinched. It's a legit national conversation. Here? It's the normal complaints/defenses depending on if you worship the orange man or vote for the child traffickers.

Per the article, national average cost of eggs is less than what we paid at Kroger last week.

A dozen Jumbo's were $5.66 last night at SmallMart in Starkville. The only reason I bought Jumbo's is they were the ONLY dozen left in the cooler so the price obviously hasn't slowed sales. There were some flats and cases left but no dozen or 18 packs at all to be seen.

That is absurd. It's just as absurd as last week when the Trump administration blamed Biden for the price of eggs because he forced so many chickens to be killed. They didn't mention bird flu either. Good grief EVERYTHING that happens isn't political. Waffle House for instance, is just trying not to lose money on every egg dish it serves.

Eggs are the Covid toilet paper, we're starting to see a break from the bird flu now, they'll fall in a couple months

I’m fortunate in this regard. My work wife gives me all the eggs I need and then some. In return i take her boys hunting. It’s a win/win situation.

Good. Hopefully it will filter out the riff raff. ***
It 17n doesn't. We have an expensive publix by us that many complain about the pricing (ironically, especially with the surrounding neighborhood). The pricing does NOT keep the riff raff out. Now they are in the store almost like they got free money to shop with
