I was just reading the article about Fedora taking their spring practice on a roadshow......first practice in front of 1000 people and some top recruits at Madison Central.....I've never heard of anyone doing it, and have to say that is impressive.....although, the one thing fighting against them is the fact that they are still usm.....I also didnt realize that fedora was qb coach under meyer and mullen at UF.....

go to USM, unless it is grades or they have no other BCS offers. Besides, Bobby Hall freely admits being an ole miss homer, so don't be surprised to see the whole lot of the MC players in oxford.

All MC players have gone to OM except Harrleson, who went to Tenn. The OM $$$$ and influence is strong in the MC district. I wouldn't even waste my time there. Very much like at South Panola. That's the reason we got popped by the ncaa and why JWS' lawsuit is still going on. Remember the trumped-up charges with Chris Spencer's mom's medical bills? Glen Davis started making some head-way in recruiting and the natives got restless and brought in Xena and Johannimeir. The rest is still to be determined.

I don't agree. We've gotten several baseball players to come to MSU- heck we have three on the team right now- Hardy, Parks, and DeLoach, not to mention Brad Hutto and Mark Muzzi.

We also have a couple of players who are walk-ons in football- Mark Brown and another LB who's name escapes me right now, and then we also had Cody Upton a few years ago.

Oh and how can anyone forget Joe Iupe for basketball?

And as far as USM, they signed one of MC's LB's- Will Martin, and they also have gotten Rod Thomas a DB and another player from the 99 MC team whos name escapes me as well.

There are plenty of State people in Madison.

And for what it's worth, we also signed Trevor Stiggers from Ridgeland HS, which is the school district that Xena lives in now.

I discussed this with another poster on here from Madison. Croom just didn't even try to recruit MC. I think it was because of everything that went to down. That is another thing that is unexcusable- just quitting like that because of some rogue booster. And no, MC didn't have a lot of exceptional talent in the past few years other than Chaz Ramsey, but I still think you have to keep the lines of communication open.

Madison Central is the number one overall feeder school to MSU. Last year 110 students enrolled as freshmen, which compares to Ole Miss enrolling 40. That is the largest class that any school has ever sent any college in MS history.

I thought this thread was about div.1 type football players. I didn't know we were comparing student enrollment at the 2 schools. Check and see how many (recruited), not walkon Div.1 football players have signed a football scholarship with MSU. And then check to see how many have signed with OM. Thats all I was comparing to.
