Gotta love sore losers- Dawggeezer and the Old Stansbury Guard trying to stir everybody up

because they lost their puppet as our head coach. So they are going to pull their donations and pout.

You can try and justify it all you want, but Stansbury is going to be viewed like Jackie- someone that did some really good things as coach at Mississippi State- but had things fall apart for them at the end of tenure for whatever reasons. Whether you donate anymore or not gentlemen, Stansbury's program will be remembered at the end for being "the nation's most dysfunctional program". That wasnt always the case- but that is indeed how it ended. And it's not going to change.

Now, I am with you in that our AD boggled the search. He did a poor job- but it's done now. And going out of your way to make sure RR fails is not the way to go about it. RR now has the job of cleaning up the mess Stansbury made- if you dont want to help- at least get your old, pouting *** out of the way. Quit stirring up the Jalen Steele crap- he is supposedly staying...Wendell is going to be a Sr- he isnt going anywhere...the Euro doesnt understand wtf is going on anyway- he is just showing up to play basketball.

It's time to get behind Coach Ray- we have no choice now- it's done.

And is he pissed of because his wife laid out the pink shirt or because Ray is ignoring him? - pic from 247

Coach - If/when Ray falls on his face in year 4 are you still going to be blaming Stansbury like you currently still blame Polk?

And what he was able to do at MSU and yet you are comparing Stansbury's results to the results of Sherrill. Also, comparing the 2003 MSU football team to the 2012 MSU basketball team is laughable. The 2003 MSU football team was as bad as the 2011 Ole Miss football team, and that is a damning a remark I can make. The 2012 MSU basketball team was dysfunctional, talented, but at times played really well. They just played like dogshit at the end of the season.

I just think its interesting that you are urging MSU fans to get behind Coach Ray regardless of their opinion of him. Just bizarre. Can you imagine a poster urging you to get behind Coach Stansbury in 2007 or 2008 regardless of your opinion of him?

Im pretty sure you would have berated that poster and called him every name in the book. So now that few fans aren't enamored with Coach Ray and are pulling their support you are calling them out? Is it opposite day on Sixpack?

as far as results on the field. But off the field 2003 State football and 2012 State basketball is a carbon copy of each other. That was the comparision I was making. Had Stansbury stayed and coached in 2013, he would have bottomed out with a ****** season also- Hood was leaving regardless, Moultrie gone, Pollard wasnt coming...Gray is a nightmare waiting to happen in someone's program (it wont be ours)....

I loved Jackie, but I also saw the need for a change to be made. The Stansbury Apologists need to accept this as well. Think about it- How bad has **** got to be in your program for a national magazine to call a Mississippi school- who they never talk about- "the most dysfunctional program in America"?????

Support Rick Ray because he's our coach, he's 0-0, and he hasn't given us a reason to think he's an idiot.

That last part didn't apply to Stansbury, and it was time to make a change. Stansbury put us in this situation. Our program was dysfunctional and we needed a change.

To when I heard a basketball coach (who has been to a sweet sixteen) say basically the same thing Coach just said. Heck, I even found the quote:

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> "I believe in work ethic,
discipline, character, unity and family. The right people are here, and
now we look forward to getting the job done."</font>

Rod Barnes, circa 2002.

It's going to get worse before it get's better. Fortunately in basketball you can change alot in 1-2 years with the way the sport is and the way the scholarships are available. Lets support the guy and see what he can do.

Quit blaming Strick on the poor hire. It's not his fault that nobody wanted to come here. The fact of the matter is that you were absolutely, completely, wrong. I would try to save face as much as possible too the way you have been bitching and promising over the last 3 years. And as the earlier poster pointed out.....how the hell is Stans going to look like Jackie?!?! Stans had a top 15 team that went on a terrible run to end the year......Jackie had a team that couldn't compete.

Is a 3 seed in a regional and lucking into the supers. Hell Polk topped that two years prior to Cohen's arrival.

where have you seen anywhere I have pulled any funds or support? You are one silly piece of ****. Every player that has transferred had a tie in to our former staff. That is their business and if you want to imply it was Stansbury's fault they left you are wrong as usual. Stansbury tried to talk Rodney and his dad into staying after he resigned. And just to set the record straight said:
because they lost their puppet as our head coach. So they are going to pull their donations and pout.

Who's career coaching record is 0-0, instead of blindly supporting a coach that has a career winning percentage of .641 and was 20 games over .500 in the SEC.

I just can't believe that fans will actually be happier if MSU is not the most dysfunctional program in the country, all the while they have a losing record.

Trust me, as someone who had a coach with an impeccable record off the court, a guy that literally cared more about player's life choices as opposed to whether they could make a jump shot, it gets old quick. All of a sudden Jamoney, Dee Bost, Sidney Claus, and Charles Rhodes don't look so bad.

Look, I have said at least 50 times, Im glad y'all fired Stansbury. Im glad you decided to "clean up his mess". Hopefully you will stop playing the AAU game and do things the right way like Pat Knight and Rod Barnes.

Considering we took the nation's #1 team down to the wire in Game 3- you look like a dumbass trying to say we really didnt belong there...Had we lost 2 straight, you might get by with the "luck" comment...you need to come up with something new- that crap aint working

Hood said he decided to leave under our "old coach", not Coach Ray. Obviously the program was in worse shape than many of you think..
I am giving Coach Ray chance to prove himself before I hop on the bashing bandwagon.
It's too bad some of you are still too pissed your buddy got run off, to give Coach Ray a chance..

You just completely made this up. Hood and Pollard won't be here next year and it has nothing to do with Stansbury. If Stansbury was our coach next year both would be at MSU. I really don't think there is anyone on this board that knows less about our sports programs than you. When we are looking for a new basketball coach in 3-4 years I'm sure you'll be blaming everything on Stansbury then too.

Cohen had players leaving due to a DRASTIC change in coaching style. That very well could be the case here. At least we have 13 schollies for 5 spots on the court versus 11.7..not to mention the SEC is about the 5th toughest basketball conference while it's easily the top conference in baseball..

Our record played a role in that 3 seed for sure, but maybe, just maybe, that 6th in the SEC last year was still a top 25 ball club? Food for thought.

That many were told that running off Stans would allow y'all to hire a big name hire. Names like Shaka Smart, Gregg Marshall, and John Groce were mentioned. Heck MSU would easily out hire South Carolina, and would hire someone that made the Stans firing/retirement be the smart decision. Then other assistant coaches and lower rung coaches are floated, and all of a sudden people are saying, "Wait a second, we are firing Stans and hiring an assistant coach that hasn't proven anything?"

Stans last three years at MSU he was 62-37 and 26-23 in the SEC. You only run off or retire a coach to at a bare mininum keep the status quo on the court, but clean up off the court. Now if you give Ray a pass for next year, that seems logical, but starting 2013-2014 he should be able to at least meet or exceed these on the court results.

Then he would end up landing a big time transfer and at the end of the day that guy was going to have MSU either in the tourney or on the bubble every damn season. Now next year may have been the year that he was done in, but we will never know. Im just glad we won't have to. Im glad that Stansbury is gone and people are talking about 12 win seasons and not being able to field a competitive team.

I know you are going to say that this was going to happen regardless, but as an Ole Miss fan I can tell you betting against Stans fielding a competitive basketball team, was normally (9 out of the last 11 years) a losing bet.
