This e-mail was sent to the chapter list-serv by one of the exec members... She's a good 17ing motivator.

Apparently, her soriority sisters weren't being very social with the Sigma Nu's....

http://gawker.com/5994974/the-most-deranged-sorority-girl-email-you-will-ever-read

If you just opened this like I told you to, tie yourself down to whatever chair you're sitting in, because this email is going to be a rough ******* ride.

For those of you that have your heads stuck under rocks, which apparently is the majority of this chapter, we have been ******* UP in terms of night time events and general social interactions with Sigma Nu. I've been getting texts on texts about people LITERALLY being so ******* AWKWARD and so ******* BORING. If you're reading this right now and saying to yourself "But oh em gee Julia, I've been having so much fun with my sisters this week!", then punch yourself in the face right now so that I don't have to ******* find you on campus to do it myself.

I do not give a flying ****, and Sigma Nu does not give a flying ****, about how much you ******* love to talk to your sisters. You have 361 days out of the ******* year to talk to sisters, and this week is NOT, I ******* repeat NOT ONE OF THEM. This week is about fostering relationships in the greek community, and that's not ******* possible if you're going to stand around and talk to each other and not our matchup. Newsflash you stupid cocks: FRATS DON'T LIKE BORING SORORITIES. Oh wait, DOUBLE ******* NEWSFLASH: SIGMA NU IS NOT GOING TO WANT TO HANG OUT WITH US IF WE ******* SUCK, which by the way in case you're an idiot and need it spelled out for you, WE ******* SUCK SO FAR. This also applies to you little ***** that have talked openly about post gaming at a different frat IN FRONT OF SIGMA NU BROTHERS. Are you people ******* retarded? That's not a rhetorical question, I LITERALLY want you to email me back telling me if you're mentally slow so I can make sure you don't go to anymore night time events. If Sigma Nu openly said "Yeah we're gonna invite Zeta over", would you be happy? WOULD YOU? No you wouldn't, so WHY THE **** WOULD YOU DO IT TO THEM?? IN FRONT OF THEM?!! First of all, you SHOULDN'T be post gaming at other frats, I don't give a **** if your boyfriend is in it, if your brother is in it, or if your entire family is in that frat. YOU DON'T GO. YOU. DON'T. GO. And you ESPECIALLY do ******* NOT convince other girls to leave with you.

"But Julia!", you say in a whiny little ***** voice to your computer screen as you read this email, "I've been cheering on our teams at all the sports, doesn't that count for something?" NO YOU STUPID ******* *** HATS, IT ******* DOESN'T. DO YOU WANNA KNOW ******* WHY?!! IT DOESN'T COUNT BECAUSE YOU'VE BEEN ******* UP AT SOBER ******* EVENTS TOO. I've not only gotten texts about people being ******* WEIRD at sports (for example, being stupid ***** and saying stuff like "durr what's kickball?" is not ******* funny), but I've gotten texts about people actually cheering for the opposing team. The opposing. *******. Team. ARE YOU ******* STUPID?!! I don't give a **** about sportsmanship, YOU CHEER FOR OUR ******* TEAM AND NOT THE OTHER ONE, HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN TO A SPORTS GAME? ARE YOU ******* BLIND? Or are you just so ******* dense about what it means to make people like you that you think being a good little supporter of the greek community is going to make our matchup happy? Well it's time someone told you, NO ONE ******* LIKES THAT, ESPECIALLY OUR ******* MATCHUP. I will ******* **** punt the next person I hear about doing something like that, and I don't give a **** if you SOR me, I WILL ******* ASSAULT YOU.

"Ohhh Julia, I'm now crying because your email has made me oh so so sad". Well good. If this email applies to you in any way, meaning if you are a little ******* that stands in the corners at night or if you're a weird **** that does weird **** during the day, this following message is for you:

DO NOT GO TO TONIGHT'S EVENT.

I'm not ******* kidding. Don't go. Seriously, if you have done ANYTHING I've mentioned in this email and have some rare disease where you're unable to NOT do these things, then you are HORRIBLE, I repeat, HORRIBLE PR FOR THIS CHAPTER. I would rather have 40 girls that are fun, talk to boys, and not ******* awkward than 80 that are ******* faggots. If you are one of the people that have told me "Oh nooo boo hoo I can't talk to boys I'm too sober", then I pity you because I don't know how you got this far in life, and with that in mind don't ******* show up unless you're going to stop being a ******* cock block for our chapter. Seriously. I swear to ******* God if I see anyone being a ******* boner at tonight's event, I will tell you to leave even if you're sober. I'm not even kidding. Try me.

And for those of you who are offended at this email, I would apologize but I really don't give a ****. Go **** yourself.

At first I didn't realize this was talking about Maryland

and I was trying to figure out why the hell anyone cared what Sigma Nu thought...

While 17ing hilarious, reading that made me so glad that I wasn't greek.

I'm sure the Greeks feel the same way. I mean who wants to be an involved campus leader, have parties with the hottest girls on campus, make really good friends, and form a network that can help your career. What losers***

In the comments section below the article, some guy wanted to have this read aloud by Pacino or DeNiro, now that would be top notch indeed!!!

If I couldn't have done all that on my own, id join! But since i could do it on my own, while not being forced to attend socials with people I may not want to be social with, I chose that route.
If you aren't able to make social connections in college, well I don't know what to say since that idea is so foreign to me.

I have no idea why I would ever just recommend someone for a job or even an interview just because we happened to be in the same fraternity. Ive never made any true business connections unless I know the person. And back in college, I was able to get to know people without paying for the opportunity...unless you count paying to drink.

More power to you, it's like religions, there are a lot of paths to happiness. My version of happiness just doesn't include dressing alike for football games and paying to meet guys.

The current president of the student body is the only non-Greek that I know of that has held that office or any other executive office for that matter. Also the vast majority of leaders on campus are Greek. Alumni Delegates, Roadrunners, and Orientation Leaders are Greek. I know it is possible to do these kinds of things if you are not Greek, but there is definitely a correlation between the two.

As far as attending the social events, the fraternity I was in had between 100 and 150 guys so you could hang out with who you want to. It just so happened that we were all very different, but we all got along. That is what I loved about it. Also, you do not have to go to any social events, but you are stupid not to.

You do not recommend people because you are in the same fraternity, but it exposes you to a lot of alumni that can help you out. It helps more with internships and than actual job offers and such, but I have seen it help out with jobs as well.

You are not paying to meet guys. Your dues go to meals and parties. It is actually cheaper in the long run to be in a fraternity because you get fed and dues are not as bad as most people think.. Also, plenty of guys in fraternities do not dress up to football games.

I had as many friends that were not Greek as I did that were. I was not Greek my freshman year and quite frankly I felt like you did until I got to meet a lot of them. I was introduced to an entire community to great people. Many of whom were in other fraternities. I understand being Greek is not for everyone, but it pisses me off that people equate this kind of stuff as the norm for the Greek system when it is not; and when people criticize the Greek system when they know nothing about it. Unless you are in one you really do not know what it is all about. Greeks are no better than non-Greeks and non-Greeks are no better than Greeks. It pisses me off when people wear it as a badge of honor one way or the other.

You didn't go Greek. We get that. But you know nothing about Greek life and what it is really about, so you are basing your opinion on stereotypes and false information. Since you know nothing about the Greek system, it'd be best if you didn't spout fallacies and try to talk down about other things of which you have no experience. Whether someone goes Greek or not is their choice, but talking badly about Greek life when you didn't rush and pledge is pretty low.
