I haven't really picked up on Spurrier's either likeness of Dan/MSU or sarcasm, but it seems like he likes us a bit.
Take an unbiased step back, Dan turned the worst D1 BCS AQ offense of the decade into a top 40 offense, and somewhere in the process killed Michigan by 40. Spurrier's offense is outdated and he hasn't been able to do anything with USC to an extent...
My point: why not copy a young guy you admire who is having success against the same opponents? Who took over the worst offense of the 2000's?
