Eh. I don’t think the fans are part of the problem… but if fans are, it’s an extremely low percentage.
The Bulk of the Responsibility goes to the Head Coach & the AD (and/or Cigar Boys) who approved the hire…

- Its a terrible time to hire a coach. See penn state among others.
- He took over ZERO talent at Mississippi State and went 5-7 in year 2. Fire him and who are you going to hire?

It's never a bad time to hire a new coach when you need to. It is probably a bad time to hire a big name that probably would never come to State anyway. That's the problem with the casual fan - he thinks there's only 3 or 4 coaches worth having and since there's 5 open jobs, we might as well keep what we have. In reality there's probably 50 coaches out there that would be an upgrade to what we have.
I'm not dodging the question. Literally 50 coaches (at least). You don't need a big name. You need a guy with experience running a program, experience not shltting the bed in-game, and experience building a good staff. Then you give him the resources he needs so he can build the staff that will help in areas that he needs it and you rock and roll.
4 coaches in 8 years has nothing to do with the fact that our coach couldn't manage the clock against Texas, or go full retard on his playcalling in literally every game we play. Or whiff on most of his recruiting targets (although I'm glad he picked up a couple). Or hire his buddy with no DC experience to be his defensive coordinator, watch him put the worst defense in the history of the program on the field, and then double down on it for another year. Dude is incompetent and if we don't address it now we'll all be talking about it again next year.
No, not all of the fans. But we have a rather vocal group of fans who love to eat the shlt the university peddles to them and then attack everyone else who doesn't toe the company line.

You are the one trying to fire the staff in year 2 after showing significant improvement. Maybe you should calm down and stick to fake magazine covers. You are at least above average at that.
It's not significant improvement. At all. It took him two years to get back to the level of the guy we fired him for. What I saw this year was a group of kids who played their absolute arses off (until the last couple of games) and a coaching staff that continually let them down and put them in bad situations. That you don't see the same thing shows why you shouldn't be commenting on this topic.
Wait so the coaching staff gets no credit for putting them in a position to lose a close game to Tennessee and texas? Got it!
Does dan mullen get the same judgement for losing to Houston and Georgia Tech and LSU in 2009?
Dan mullen wasn't incompetent. Those guys just didn't have the horses.
This staff had our guys ready for a few games. Also those teams we were playing weren't as good as initially thought. But we didn't lose because the players didn't compete. We lost those games because the coach on the sideline lost them. His incompetence. That doesn't get better with time.

7 defensive starters played in the nfl and 8th was named fletcher cox
3 of 4 defensive lineman were seniors. 1 of them was nfl Kyle love. The 4th was junior nfl Pernell McPhee.

Dan Mullen had more talent in 2009 than Lebby did in 2025. FACT
Dan Mullen had an easier schedule in 2009 (at worst the same schedule as for as SOS) than Lebby did in 2025. FACT
So if lebby sucked in 2025 as a coach Dan Mullen really sucked in 2009 with better talent and the same or easier schedule.
Reality is they both did ok. Not great. Mullen needed a qb not named Tyson lee. Lebby needed 4 to 5 OL/DL that were above average.
But we did moron. And once we did, then any one with a healthy brain (you’re out) would have deduced that he will need some time I said 5-7 or 6-6. Just curious…. What was your prediction for the season? Don’t lie. Some pencil neck here will go fact check your ***
