Grayson went from Preseason Player of the Year to not even a mention from ACC Honors. None of us knows what that fall is like. I'm not saying he didn't bring it on himself, though he can't help he became injured either, but I just wish the best for him.

It's been a helluva bad time for Grayson. I hope, as the warrior his is, he's able to reach back and show a little of that stone cold killa. I would love nothing better than him to lead us to the promised land.

You say "OBVIOUS dirty play" and must be clean from here on out like he did something dirty today? He got a technical off of reputation, if that was anyone else then nothing is called. Yes he has cost this team this year at times but for this team to go far he has to find his rhythm, be aggressive, and play with an edge.

go Duke

Well quit using that T as an example when it's called all of the time. The vulgarity alone will get you one if they hear as loudly as he yelled it.

Oh yeah, I didn't realize you are the authority on T's. Hell, even all the talking heads I saw yesterday said it wouldn't have been a T on anyone else...and that's saying something with the way they've went after him.
Now go home troll.

For me he has lost benefit of the doubt...

I don't think the play against UNC was a basketball play...you don't drive with elbow that high in someone's chops...

Today wasn't a dirty play...just another play that's all about him and detrimental to the team...you can literally see it spiraling towards the moment every time he is playing poorly...and let's be real he is playing terribly...

The thing is he has brought it all on himself...and that's the problem...I think he has been over scrutinized over analyzed completely..I don't think it's fair what he has to put up with..but he made the bed and now has to deal with it...he's not improving in that area and continues to do things that put him under the microscope..

Maybe its competitiveness...but how long can one make that argument? He loses control..he hurts the team...it becomes about him to much for my liking...

Granted I'll be the first to jump up if he catches fire or makes a play...I just want him to stop the perifery antics and play ball...justifying why it's continually ok what he does is enabling...I don't think so I'm Jan. but I do believe now he is being enabled to much...fans included.

Taking responsibility has to be more than saying it afterwards...he has to live it...
Man, you like to whine!

Allen - Kennard - Tatums play styles really compliment each other well. Jackson also adds his own element.

Allen and Tatum two man game is effective.

Grayson played well today...exactly what we need from him..

Nobody questions how he acts when he's playing well...the problem is when he's not....

Ok, I'm going complete contrarian. I think that Grayson thinking about not doing something hurts his play. I'd rather he just says, eff it. Not necessarily do something and try to be good, but if something happens, oh well. Keep the intensity. Don't care what others thinks. Just go be you.

I am by no means condoning his actions. I hate them. But, if this is who you are, so be it. You play better angry.

Don't understand how Duke fans can even think about turning their back on GA after all the blood, sweat, and tears he has put into this Duke program. No one ever mentions that without GA, there's a good chance we as fans do not celebrate a Natty in 2015. He put that team on his shoulders and willed Duke back into a game that was getting away from them. For that I will always think positive of him, even though he has made some boneheaded plays since then. I still love my kids even when they do dumb things. This years news coverage on him has been ridiculous and has all but destroyed a young mans dreams and goals of playing at the next level. He half assed tripped some people on a bball court. There's felons running up and down the court in the NBA that hasn't been verbally abused like GA. I hope he keeps chasing his dreams and doesn't quit on himself like some bball fans have. He has not physically hurt anybody.

Bravo G'town! I was defending him this very morning to some of my own Duke friends! Folks on this board have given up on him at times too....He handled himself like a champ today, not only w/his play, but in the face of a Louisville player trying to get under his skin....Never count him out, kid just keeps fighting back in the face of a relentless media firestorm...

Lets not forget, this all started last year in a game against the Ville. A game in which the Cards deliberately/strategically played very physically/chippy knowing that Duke couldn't respond in kind due to lack of depth. Grayson gets T'd up for a trip that: never even gets called or noticed in years prior to official review, nobody even knows whether it was intentional or not, had to be called because it was reviewed and technically was a trip but really wasn't flagrant or even that uncommon in that situation, and was much less than he was getting all game.

I'll go further. The FSU trip was clearly a (bad) response to a deliberate provocation. A lot of the fury came from the lack of an official ACC response. Well, the ACC response should have been a reprimand to both players. Simple. We are not going to stand for this boys. End of story. If the story was both kids displayed poor judgement, Grayson is much less the villain. Bottom line, XRM was by far the worse offender in that situation. But that wasn't the dialogue, was it?

I'll go even further. The Elon kid fouled Grayson first. He deliberately pinned his arm. The call should have been: Offensive foul on the Elon kid for the arm grab and then a dead ball foul on Grayson. After the review, they could/should have changed the offensive foul to a flagrant one since pinning someone's arm is not a basketball move. If they also call Grayson's a flagrant one, that would be similarly justified. But, with double fouls, once again, Grayson should not be the villain.

After multiple reviews and no mention of XRM' offense and the Elon kid's offense I can only say one thing. F- em all! God I hope Grayson lights up UNC, Duke wins the ACC Tourney and the Natty and Grayson is MOP of the Final Four.

Grayson, give all the haters a middle finger while you're cutting the nets down. It's you against the world and you're handling yourself great. Win it all this year, come back and repeat next year for your third natty. All these haters would have to live with that forever.

I'm probably the only one, but I never had a problem with the FSU trip if I'm honest. The guy baited Grayson, even bumped him, and then acted like he was assaulted when Grayson stuck out the leg. The game was over already and the kid was asking for it. Everyone focused on the response, similar to the Laettner stomp. If Grayson were playing for any other team, most would be laughing about it.

I absolutely believe Grayson should have been better with that, but I never had an issue with the trip in that situation. And obviously I won't try to defend the other incidents, but I will always support the kid. I hope he never loses that fire.

Honestly I'd rather have seen him turn around and pop him one to the jaw hahaha.

Totally agree with Dbav and dukehokie. I said to my brother in law last year-UVA grad and fan- "so it would have been alright if Grayson turned and decked XRM?! If Adam Sandler did it to the guy playing the role of obnoxious jackass in a movie, everyone would cheer it and laugh their as... off." Well guess what, I thought that trip was funny in the context of the situation. Should he have done it? No. Not because it wasn't reasonably justified, but because it was bad for Duke and Grayson to do so.

Yup, I think that it became such a big story because of the odd and unique circumstances surrounding a trip. It's just something that's normally never seen. If Grayson got so frustrated that he pushed him, it would have been on sportscenter, but I highly doubt it would have become such a big news story that the tripping has become.

Whether it's justified or not is completely subjective. Be the bigger man; let it role off your back and exercise some mental maturity. Life isn't a movie.
