The final four is set. Kansas upset USC, so the Huskers play KU in Omaha on Thursday night. Minnesota plays Texas in the other semi-final.

Games are on ESPN2. I did take a look at KU's schedule. Other than taking Texas to 5 sets in Lawrence and beating USC, there isn't anything that stands out. They probably would have finished anywhere from 6th to 9th in the Big Ten. We should sweep but in one match you never know what happens. I am guessing KU will be very nervous playing in front of 17,000 people. This is fair for all the times we had to go to KC and play the Big 8/12 tourneys in front of a bunch of MU and KU fans.

We also lost to Texas in 5. Kansas's only losses were to Texas, unbelievable year for them......30-2 Nebraska's record against KU is 86-0-1. Should be a great BIG10 vs Big 12 challenge.

How do you have a tie in volleyball?
In prior years they used to have "triangulars" or something like that. You played the other opponent two sets and then played the next opponent. If you split the two sets it was a tie. They didn't do tie-breakers back then. This may even have been before the NCAA sanctioned volleyball. Prior to that it was the AWVCA or something like that.

Just looking in the media guide, on November 15, 1977 we won the first set 18-16 and lost the next 7-15, match was declared a tie.....looks like in 1978 they changed it to play a third set to avoid the tie

Thanks for the explanation!
