A lot of people haven’t even gotten in yet I saw a picture of the line. Also 2 undisciplined plays from Phoebus so far
Both defenses are reigning supreme right now.....along with penalties smh.
This crew is famous for flag fest. @Phoebus Fan and I have been posting about for two weeks. The white hat Jim Mayhew is a good official, but his crew will not let the kids play.
I do recall you two talking about this recently. I didn't know it was gonna be this bad though. Any momentum or flow is nixed by a damn flag. Hopefully the second half will have more pace and excitement.

Fortunately I didn't have to wait too long. Phoebus defense will need to stand up for 3rd & 4th qtr. Those undisciplined plays can be killers.
It is National Flag Day at Todd Stadium. Whistles and yellow hankies are plenty.
Jammed up = Bad Traffic and a lack of parking. But you are right. There were more people at the Vick/Curry Todd Stadium game. Also. The refs are still throwing flags.
This game is so painful to watch with all the stoppages. I see now what some have been talking about with regard to the officials.

Welp....that's that on that. The game didn't live up to the hype (to me) really due to the number of flags. Definitely two top notch swarming defenses. Phoebus is just a bit more polished...as expected. It's unfortunate that Warwick has to go through (likely) Maury or Green Run. Phoebus has some obstacles in front of them too.
Are you talking about the Varina team that struggled against the now 6-3 Indian River Braves or the Varina team that inched by (leaving some nose skin behind) the now 5-4 Hermitage Panthers or is there another Varina team?

Love the passion you bring and hope to catch up during the playoffs. I left the 757 for college and only get back a couple times a year. I've been in the DMV for over two decades and just in the past few years have I accepted that the DMV is my home.I pray that staff doesn’t call any playoff games. VHSL legit needs to send refs from other region for the playoffs. Did you see the touchdown Phoebus clearly caught first drive that was ruled incomplete? It was ridiculous

I agree with your main point even though I haven't seen the crew you are referring to. I will say that I've been to at least one game a week on average this season, seen a bunch of crews, and maybe one could be deemed playoff-assignment worthy.
Unfortunately, home teams somehow still get their home associations up to and including their state semifinal rounds. This must change.
Then again, the VHSL lacks leadership by allowing the regions to have some sort of autonomy in determining their state round representatives, so I'm sure there will be zero movement on home teams using different associations around the state to officiate their regional playoff games.
