Cigarettes are definitely addictive. No other way to explain all the difficulty millions of people have had with trying to quit them.

Thing I don't understand about the "medicinal" value of MJ is, if it has medicinal value, then why not just synthesize the chemicals that have the positive effect, and sell them in FDA approved form that doesn't required smoking the whole weed? That way you get the medicinal effects without the damaged lungs and the psychological damage.

This is almost what is happening, minus the FDA. A liquid form is sold, minus mind-altering /components effects. Junkies want the high, people with medical problems want the benefits.

Exactly. Do some people really think that kids are going to the doctor's office and being prescribed a bong and Ritz crackers?

"The rest of his life"...classic.

I wish i could feel sorry for people who choose to make their own lives more difficult for themselves(i.e. drug addicts and alcoholics). Nobody in the world feels sorry for me when I make stupid-@ss decisions.

This is true.

Why no FDA? No drug company has worked up an application?

I would be lying to you if I said I was super knowledgeable about the subject. I just live in Colorado and see stuff on the news. I see two sides, one a recreational drug culture side, and two a medicinal "no where else to turn" side. Just a guess, big pharma companies have not in the past attempted to find a lot of uses. I found a link to the FDA, I didn't know it existed before today. According to that link, there's 3 or so FDA drugs that are synthesized based on marijuana.

It will take someone more knowledgeable than me to fully answer your question.

I wonder how much of the cigarette addiction is due to what you associate it with. Wake up in the morning, have a cigarette, after dinner, have a cigarette, etc.
Lots for some; and there are therapies for that school of thought.

If your job requires you to take drug tests and you are a pot smoker you're screwed.

People call pot a gateway drug... yeah it's a gateway to the unemployment line.

Yeah weed has never ruined anyone's life! If it is so non addictive then why can't these dudes just drop it? Let's see multi millions or s joint? Tough choice...unless you can't help it.

Dude, if I got offered $1 million to stop eating chili, I'd probably take the bet. I'd probably also constantly get caught sneaking off and licking other people's used spoons at the cookoff. Now that makes me a sick individual with a huge problem, but I ain't blaming the chili.

Certos isn't gonna work for a guy who wakes and bakes.

Never failed a drug test using it...smoked daily back then....used it 3 times successfully.

But if you smoke the same day...that's a different story.
