Everybody seeing the first round picks, but those three pics are going to be garbage unless they use it to trade in another trade. The only good piece out of this is Clayton Jr. Everybody else in the trade is just a bunch of bums and absorbing their salary to make the trade work. I totally get moving him, but man, I don’t know about what they got in return for it.Wow! A touch shocked. I will say, JJJ did not rebound nearly as well as you would hope for someone his size. That seems like a very nice price for him.
They are getting the most favorable of Utah/Cleveland/Minnesota 2027 first. Plus Lakers 2027 first. Not great honestly. They also get Phoenix's 2031 first. Basically a lottery ticket. Who knows how good they'll be in 5 years!Everybody seeing the first round picks, but those three pics are going to be garbage unless they use it to trade in another trade. You're right, it's not as good as I had originally thought.
They already have a ton of first round assets so repackaging for a trade or a higher pick are not out of the question here I don't think.Everybody seeing the first round picks, but those three pics are going to be garbage unless they use it to trade in another trade. The trade analysis ESPN did was pretty spot on, I thought. Jaren hasn't been elite on either side of the ball for a couple of years now, and he starts making 51m per year starting next year. They gave the Grizzlies an A- trade grade on this trade.Dang....was hoping they found a trading spot for J Morant. I really liked JJ.....sure as hell hope we get something really good for him.
It’s coming. It won’t be a very good return but he’s good as gone. Please get rid of Ja also. Please.
Yep. A little birdie told me a few weeks ago it was inevitable. Ja is checked out. Management is checked out. Ja isn't close to anyone aside from Pippen and like 1 other guy. The good things JJJ says in the media was all PR coaching. Just waiting for the right moment and decent enough deal I suppose...It’s coming. It won’t be a very good return but he’s good as gone.
The Bane haul was really good.Smart to deal JJJ first. Now they can take back bad money on a Ja trade so it ups the price because draft picks will be attached now. They increased Ja trade value.
When you think about what the Grizz got back for Bane and JJJ, it’s pretty impressive considering what some other teams have gotten recently (mavs). I would expect the Grizz to package some of these pics to possibly move up in this loaded draft.
I would have rather kept JJJ and Bane and traded Ja but his value is just 17 bad.
What’s really wild is that nearly two years ago, I couldn’t fathom as to how Ja’s value could possibly drop further than it was after his nightclub/FB Live gun incidents and the upcoming suspension. Leave it to that clown to defy all probability by actually finding a way to tank his stock to an even lower levelYep. A little birdie told me a few weeks ago it was inevitable. Ja is checked out. Still wish we dealt Ja when he had some value and rolled with JJJ and Bane but is what it is at this point.
That’s not really what dropped his value. He can’t stay healthy and can’t shoot. So you have a guard that can’t shoot the 3, doesn’t defend particularly well, drives to the paint or plays above the rim to score but doesn’t want to play above the rim anymore. What’s really wild is that nearly two years ago, I couldn’t fathom as to how Ja’s value could possibly drop further than it was after his nightclub/FB Live gun incidents and the upcoming suspension. Right, and that’s really my point. Defense, shooting, and hitting the weights are all areas that were within his control to improve upon over the years, and yet he chose not to. He could’ve made people forget all about his off the court crap, but he took things to a whole new level by playing a key role in getting Jenkins fired, quitting on the team earlier this year, and then just acting in general like a completely unlikable toddler. That’s not really what dropped his value. I get the bad behavior but if you’re good they’ll overlook that.
If you got it from Fanatics, they will issue a refund if the player is traded within a year of purchase.Dang, him and Konchar have been fixtures there. My son had just gotten a new JJJ jersey a few weeks ago. He got it to replace his Bane jersey from last year![]()
That’s handy to know.If you got it from Fanatics, they will issue a refund if the player is traded within a year of purchase.
Something gotta be better than nothing to get rid of cancer, no? It's not like he's going to play more than 50% of the remaining games on his contract.
Yea, didn't he play on Indiana's 1987 championship team?Eric Gordon is still playing?!
It’s funny that Memphis Grizzlies fans have wanted Eric Gordon for years and now they get him to waive him at the end of his career.Eric Gordon is still playing?!
So, going forward, do the Grizzlies get the reenergized, happy-to-not-get-traded, smiling and engaged Morant, or do the Grizzlies get the sulking, bltchy, disengaged, everyone-is-out-to-get-me Morant? Or do the Grizzlies just send him home and keep him away from the team for a while?Ja was not traded. Deadline was 2:00
Bitchy Ja. Nagging injuries. Plays 1/3 games. So, going forward, do the Grizzlies get the reenergized, happy-to-not-get-traded, smiling and engaged Morant, or do the Grizzlies get the sulking, bltchy, disengaged, everyone-is-out-to-get-me Morant? Will be worth watching. It's interesting to me that the one guy on the roster who was sick of Ja's chit....Vince Williams Jr, got traded away.
This is my expectation too, but it would be kinda nice to see him turn a new leaf.Ja isn’t playing another game this season.

And that $29M trade exception....wow.
This could be a really fast rebuild if they got super aggressive here.
Zaire was a miss but they have hit on nearly all the draft picks and they have found some great players on two way deals. You can get mad at some of their free agent moves but I will greatly disagree on their drafts. Kleiman drafts really wellYou clearly have much more faith in the incompetent **** running this team than I do.
Exactly 5 years ago…
- Ja/JJJ/Bane on rookie deals
- Young role players like Santi/Tyus/Melton
- Good stable of vets like Kyle/Brooks/SteveO
- Zero bad contracts
- Future draft picks galore
And then…
- we draft Zaire
- A year later, rather than getting our young core some veteran help, we burn a stockpile of draft picks on rookies that are no longer on the team
- Then we let Kyle walk for nothing
- Then we ship off Adams
- Then we give up players and picks to get Marcus Smart
- Then we give up players and picks to get rid of Marcus Smart
- Then we sign Des to a $200M deal only to trade him a year later
- Then we fire Jenkins, former coach of the year, because clearly he was the problem
- Then we sign JJJ to a $250M deal only to trade him months later
- Oh, and then there’s the minor Ja situation
It is absolutely mind boggling that Kleiman is still running this team
I think Kleiman has done a good job overall. You clearly have much more faith in the incompetent **** running this team than I do.

What you describe as “hits” are little more than finding serviceable role players, nearly all of which have serious flaws somewhere in their game. Otherwise, they could’ve easily been used in trade packages to bring playoff caliber players to this roster, yet Kleiman repeatedly whiffed on these attempts.Zaire was a miss but they have hit on nearly all the draft picks and they have found some great players on two way deals. You can get mad at some of their free agent moves but I will greatly disagree on their drafts. Kleiman drafts really well
Adams was damaged goods, that’s why they let him walk. He’s only played a partial season since then and is now hurt again with a serious knee injury.
The contracts for Des and Jaren are right in line with what they were worth. The Bane trade was excellent for the draft picks attained. The Ja situation is on Ja. There’s very little if anything Kleiman can do with him being a dumbașs.
The Marcus Smart ordeal is the worst one, I will give you that. The deal to get rid of him was horrible for what they gave up.
Giving up on Jake LaRavia and letting him walk is worse than Adams to be honest.
