To the raptors and will receive Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince, and Austin Daye in return...Don't know what to think of this.

They get a 2nd round pick also.

Still processing it as well, but there's not a lot you can do when you are trying to dump salary and giving up the stat line that Gay gets you. The good news is that Gay wasn't the heart of the team and having him out of the way will help ZBO and Gasol do their thing. Our offense is terrible, it's not like it's going to get any worse, so we got that going for us...

A lot of Memphis supporters will probably ***** about it, but they don't fill up the Forum every night either. If they want to put the ownership in position to have ample cash and not have to worry about huge payrolls and luxury taxes, fill up the damn stadium. Pretty simple concept.

I'm not very impressed. I guess we'll see what happens on the court. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind Rudy being traded, I'm not seeing the return of trading Speights and Gay for what we're getting.

I agree. I don't understand how this makes the Grizz better. We replace Rudy with a less athletic SF on the decline, and I don't know where Davis fits. Perhaps he's a slight upgrade to Arthur, but then what do you do with DA?

I'm not impressed with any of the moves that have been made over the last couple weeks, and I can't imagine that Lionel is too thrilled right now either

Ed Davis is an absolute steal at 2.2 million. He's been starting for the Raptors the last 2 months and been averaging close to a double double. He's been a surprise player for my fantasy team. I hope the Grizz play him. Sucks losing Gay but the Grizz got 3 nice players from it and shed Gay's 16.5 mill contract.

It's not a bad trade but I do hate to see Rudy go. They had to shed money. Davis is an underrated player and a real steal. Hollinger knows what he's doing.

I think quincy when he gets back from his MCL sprain will be playing alot more minutes so him and prince are gunna be the feature small forwards but yea the question is what do you do with arthur? hes been playing good so no clue i guess he gets buried on the bench...again

Me too. We took away a lot of points, still missing an outside threat unless Chris Johnson keeps it up, and we're overloaded at the 4. When is the trade deadline? Surely there will be something else.

I wasn't a fan of the last trade but this one is good. He was our 3rd best player and Lionel ran our offense like he was our best.

Im only concerned about the defensive end. I'm not sure how the pick ups will compare to Rudy's defensive ability.

The thing about Rudy Gay is that he is having his worst shooting season of his career, and on top of that he is being payed a superstar contract when he doesnt deserve one

I don't disagree with you guys about the value of Davis's contract

but my question is... where does he fit on our team? Here's my problem...

The Grizzlies are not a mid-level team bogged down in mediocrity nor did they have a dire need at PF. In spite of a couple bad losses here and there, Memphis is the #4 seed in the West, they've proven themselves with wins over OKC, Miami, New York, and SA, and they've got an all-star at PF with a finally healthy Arthur backing him up. So in my mind, I wasn't against trading Gay, but I only wanted that to happen if it made the Grizz clearly and immediately better. With this trade, I think we got worse at starting SF while we probably upgraded our backup PF. it's great that we now have a solid prospect in Davis, but that's not what I was looking for at this point.

Anyway, time will tell, but I just don't know about this move. I haven't heard the team's response yet, but based on Lionel's previous stance, I'm betting that he's pissed.

Stat that was just reported by Chris Vernon. Rudy Gay has taken 117 more shots that ZBo, and 227 more shots than Gasol. That's a lot of shots to be had by whoever steps up.

The fact that Hollins will be forced to go inside to ZBO and Gasol more...

....will do wonders for our offense. Tonight will probably be rough due to not having everyone yet, but I am pretty excited to see what they can do the rest of the season

The defense will be improved. Hopefully the ZBo of 10/11 shows up. If he does we'll be good.
