Reports on twitter this morning saying he has removed his name from consideration. Truth is, until there is a press conference announcing the hire, everyone is just guessing.

Is this is true, they must have thrown a record setting amount at him. He is paid an outrageous amount now to simply say what he thinks about the game he loves. At his age, I don't know why you would want to leave that and take on such a challenging job. Maybe he thinks he has something to prove.

Sports radio guys have as much credibility as Bleacher Report authors.

My cousin's wife claims he was at the school where she works...

...checking things out before Thanksgiving (they live in Knoxville). However, I have a very hard time believing that this chick has any clue who the hell John Gruden is, much less what he looks like. I just don't understand the obsession with John Gruden. It's not like he's a sure-fire, can't miss college coach.

I didn't believe her then, and I don't believe her now.

PLEASE BE TRUE.

Gruden resume:

Coached at the college level in the last 20 years? Nope
Tasked with managing a college program top to bottom...ever? Nope

UT: great, we'll make you the highest paid guy in the business.

Morons. Throwing money at somebody that commands a high price because he's a great commentator or NFL coach does not mean he'll be a great college coach. I hope it blows up in their face worse than the last 2 hires have.

Would be a bad hire, I think.

Just a case of Tenn wanting to hire a celebrity name of sorts to run the program. Everyone seems so enamored by this guy, why!? I guess it's because of the way he looks and that he doesn't sound dumb when he speaks?? I bet this guy doesn't give a single **** about SEC football! I think Tenn just avoided another expensive disaster and should thank Gruden for not sharing the interest.
