This! Last year Clark had to deal with a clogged up middle of the floor. Could you imagine what he could have done with two sharp shooters on the wings to open up the floor? When McCray and Simpkins was hitting threes, the Hall was very tough.Would’ve liked to see Clark breaking down defenses and passing out to Brown and Wilcher.
It seems like this was Sha's pitch and ig the rumors are true we met his number. So, Sha was not underestimating Clark's value. This! Last year Clark had to deal with a clogged up middle of the floor. I was a big Clark fan and people underestimate how impactful he really is.
Agree Clark was really good and would have been better this year. So far it does not appear we have that PG/facilitator and won't have that.. Hopefully one of our guys emerges that can shoot and defend better than Clark did and can distribute - that will help. This! Last year Clark had to deal with a clogged up middle of the floor. This is why it's so disappointing that Sha seems to have to learn lessons slowly in stages. Anyone with a brain could have said pairing a pg like Clark with a shooter is a number one priority, otherwise Clark's effectiveness immediately is bottled up. But obviously that was not a priority for him last season. This! Last year Clark had to deal with a clogged up middle of the floor. If you thought our offense was stagnant last year with a PG (and most of you do). This looks to be worse. Without a lead guard we’re going to rely on everybody winning 1on1 when they get the ball in their hands.Clark, Parker, Simpkins, Staton-McCray, Williams, Felton
vs.
Jones, Parker (Y2 bump), Wilcher, Brown, Anderson, Thomas, Moore
Seems pretty even to me, all things considered. Different styles. Nobody is the creator Clark was, but Jones may open the floor more. Brown and Thomas won’t be the defenders of ASM + Williams but should give us more offensively as pairs. Very realistic to say Wilcher will be better than what Simpkins was for us last year.

Before and way beforeSha needs to find some very huge human beings quickly. So far this isn’t impressive.
We’re in agreement. But the irony is Clark’s game and limitations also was a big cause in opponents’ sagging and boxing defense. Simply a bid roster mix offensively; why our #’s were so awful. This! No need to read any of your posts after saying you would choose Coleman over Clark. Insane take.I mean Clark plays a premium position, ball in his hands, he didn’t have a terrible year. But Coleman as a soph compared to Clark as a jr put up better numbers, and shot better from every part of the field, even fts. I take Coleman pretty comfortably. I also think scoring the basketball is the number one most important factor and Coleman does that a lot better, imo.
OMG.What does Clark do better than Coleman beside handle?
shoot better from the field? Coleman
shoot better from 3? Coleman
shoot better from the ft line? Coleman
rebound? Coleman
Clark played at low level d1 for 2 years. Coleman power 5 for 3 years.

Not arguing either way but in today’s game no player should be attempting a midrange shot. 3Pt shot or in the paint is what wins games.I know you are not a fan of Clark and you love Coleman but I would take Clark over Coleman any day. As far as his midrange we must have been looking at different players as I thought Budd had a very good mid range stop and pop.
Clarks career stats are so much better too!
I was of the mindset before last year that had Coleman returned on paper he would have been our best player. He had a stretch of very solid production during the BE schedule on a team where he was the only legit offensive option. Sure I thought there was a Rickey Davis aspect to his stats - the whole good guy on a bad team thing - but as a junior I thought it was reasonable to think of him as our best possible player had he returned, not knowing how Clark would play coming up a level or what we would get from Hines as a freshman or other newcomers. If you think Clark is better - please tell me what he is better at? Because it’s nothing on the offensive end.
He has a better offensive rating on higher usage. Offensive rating encompasses everything. So Budd is better on offense. Budd is also immeasurably better on defense by every metric. If you think Clark is better - please tell me what he is better at? Because it’s nothing on the offensive end.
Stubborn wasn’t the word I had in mind.He has a better offensive rating on higher usage. Offensive rating encompasses everything. So Budd is better on offense. Budd is also immeasurably better on defense by every metric.
Honestly, it takes a special kind of stubborn to continue stanning for Isaiah Coleman.
