Really, that can be said for either team. If you go 0-2 this week, you're going to be a 2 seed on the road. If you win the SEC tournament, you're going to be a 2 seed on the road.
Same for Florida, they are a national seed no matter what they do this weekend.
If you were in a position like Auburn or Georgia, where you needed a certain number of wins to qualify for a regional, it would matter. If you're Arkansas and still had an outside shot at hosting if you make the finals, it matters. For everyone else, it's really just an exhibition weekend.
That's why I wish they'd go to the pod system like the ACC uses. That way everyone gets 3 games, and two teams play 4 games. It doesn't tax anyone's arms going into postseason play and it allows everyone the same opportunity for improving their resume without possibly giving someone the quick exit.
There have been years for us when it mattered and years when it didn't. Last year's tournament didn't matter for us. We were a 2 seed no matter what we did. We couldn't play into a host, and we weren't going to play our way out of a regional, so the tourney didn't mean much.
