"More cowbell! Vermonters planning world’s largest cowbell ensemble" http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/more-cowbell-vermonters-planning-world-largest-cowbell-ensemble-202144783.html

The gathering, slated for April 14 in Burlington, Vt., will be hosted by Ben & Jerry's and the WaterWheel Foundation, a nonprofit organization launched by local Vermont rock group Phish. The band's drummer, Jon Fishman, will lead the cowbell ensemble.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest simultaneous cowbell ringing occurred in 2003 Glarus, Switzerland, where "1,306 participants rang a total of 2,055 cowbells."

Pretty much just count the cowbells as they go into the stadium. We instantly beat the record by 7K on a bad day.

We need to determine if we can get in that competition. Don't think we'd have any trouble breaking the current record. And the school could make some money on t-shirts and such.

WTF? There are more cowbells than that at an MSU pep rally.

Don't get me wrong, I like Guinness.

The record is for "SWISS" bells which are called cowbells as well. The typical Mississippi State cowbell would not qualify.

This is a Swiss cowbell. I am not positive but I do not believe what you bring to games looks anything like this, I know mine is more like the pic you posted. Of course, I don't work for the record keepers so I don't really know if theyrequire one style or not.

They would probably show up at Vaught-Hemingway looking for the cowbells. They would then leave and mumble to themselves about having to drive all the way to Hattiesburg because who knew there were two schools in Mississippi.

They replied back to me and said that cowbells are the same as swiss bells. I failed to ask if there were specifications on the cowbell.
