GW-21 MV-7 HALFTIME

28-21 GW final,, GW had 4 interceptions with one ran back for TD, GW also had a kickoff return for TD, proud of MV defense they only allowed 2 offensive TDs, GW didn't score in second half. A lot of people in stands were complaining about refs, the only call that was so obvious was the no call for holding on our receiver going down sideline late in 4th quarter, GW player was obviously holding his jersey with a ref standing right there, but hell maybe we wouldn't scored anyway. Great game to watch and now the playoffs begin.
And also like to add that GW played great defense also
MV defense is outstanding Wow! I was very impressed.
Magna Vista's defense was the best I had seen in some time. Makes we wonder how damned good JF must be!
I would not want to face a Qb better than the MV Qb. That young man is very good. He appears to have everything from the head on down.
I know GW had 4 picks, but giving up 440 yards, if that is accurate, isn't going to cut it against a team that doesn't make many mistakes. Good win for GW, secondary and special teams, big key to the victory. MV very impressive to roll up that kind of yardage. Need to fix the turnover problem.
True, but Magna Vista also had 88 plays in the game...a HUGE number for High School football.
I think shoalin had 6 int for the year before this game. Very uncharacteristic of him throwing that many in one game, but GW has a good secondary too. Some of those he could have just ran it. I think they will learn alot on offense from this game film and fix those mistakes. Defense looks real good. Im not sure what brunson injury was, but i hope it was just cramping. Its gonna be a uphill battle to get back to Lynchburg. . Looks like IF Brookville and MV win opening round they will meet 2nd round.
Mostly because their defense produced a lot of three-and-outs for GW...particularly in the second half.
MVwarrior, must have been a great game to watch last night. For MV to hold GW to that few yards of offense the D must have played well. Speaking of the Warriors pass defense, to me it is all based on getting to the qb, if they don't the db's all seem to be looking in the backfield and lose sight of the receivers. In the 4 games I've seen this year if the o-line gives the qb time, there will be 2-3 recievers running loose in the secondary because the db's are all looking back at the qb. Got to shore this up going forward. Good luck Warriors next week in "The Hole". At least we will get a couple of home games in the playoffs.
Looks like the Warriors will play Heritage the first round. Bradley teams are always well coached and play extremely hard for him. They layed a smackdown on Liberty last night so the boys from the Hole better not overlook them, Heritage would like nothing better than coming back to where they knocked off the Warriors 34-27 in the state semis in 2002 on there way to a state championship. Hope the weather is better Friday than it was that Sat. afternoon in 2002.
Played a little college ball and had relatives who played at MV football, bball and baseball. Just an avid local sports fan and have been since I played in the PD back in the..... so long ago I can't remember. I hope the Warriors can put together another run like last year. The boys sure took the community on a great ride last year, but repeating can sure be hard, hope they still have that hunger and are not just satisfied to live off last years title
