I wish Glass and GW were still playing each other.
Agreed. That schedule is a far cry from the days when Glass, Lewis, Garfield, PH, Fleming, etc., etc., were opponents. Of course, the schedule mirrors the program and where it now resides.

Same with Glass. Hopefully the programs continue to get better and play each other next cycle.

The Hilltoppers have a tremendous coaching staff and have sparked an energy that has been lacking. The Seminole District is an extremely tough schedule week in and week out, but Glass should be able to build on last year and make a run at the playoffs.
For GW, the beginning part of the schedule is pretty brutal. 3 Seminole teams from the jump will set the tone. Opening on the LU field is a nice way to begin the season, and will be a good test. I am thinking somewhere around 6-4 or 7-3.

Very brutal! From what I'm hearing from close sources with the GW program is that anything less than a 9-1 and a top 3 seed come playoff time will be a disappointment with what GW has coming back and coming into the program. They have some very good talent but they also have a lot to prove. I say an 8-2 (losses to JF/Amherst/or MV) record is what the Eagles will deal with but I hope that I am wrong and they are in the 10-0/9-1 range. They have 20 starters returning and though I'm not one to go off of kids who haven't played significant varsity snaps, they bring in one of the most highly touted RB's that Danville has seen since David Wilson in Wesley Graves who is a rising sophomore. 5'10 195 bruiser with 4.45 speeds (the best comparison I can think of is Ramsey from Salem and Siddarrius Williams from Dinwiddie). The sky is the limit for this team but they have a lot to prove and they need to play a full 48 minutes.

Gar Field is one of the largest schools in the state and has one of the worst fb programs now. I cannot begin to understand why.
WF is way down due to recruiting and the legacy of administrative turmoil. Glass does not want to play GW-their choice.

GW is always going to have top shelf running backs and basketball payers.

The Graves kid I speak of has been compared to Keeta Covington by several longtime fans I've spoken to. That's huge shoes to fill for a kid that hasn't played but maybe 6 varsity snaps. A lot of fans were mad that they didn't use him more against Heritage Leesburg in the playoffs to take some pressure off of Forrest. I hear he was invited to Clemson for camp but I'm not sure how he fared or whose interested at this point. I wish the young man good luck.
