GW vs Holston thoughts

I'm doing this only because I've done it for every other team we've played. From everything I've seen from Holston they are very similar to NW. Not taking shot at them or NW by saying that. But they have been out played by everyone this season. I greatly respect the kids of Holston for there efforts. But this game will be alot of the same. They will not know what to do when the game stsrts. GW will be to much literally at every position. The Varsity will put up 42 at least and then set. So with all of that said you know I gotta go with MY MAROONS GW-63 Hol-0 Best of luck to Holston and safe travels to all heading to the game.

Blaster, I wish both teams an injury free game. Holston is the underdog, but that
Group of players always play very hard, and that is always something I admire
About the Cavs. They too are rebuilding, and having a tough year, but they will
Not back down front anyone.
GW will probably have their way with the Cavs. I hope for a safe and injury free
Game. I give my best to both squads. Keep us all Posted on the game score.

This game is an after thought for GW. Like most of their games, this one will be a blowout.

That is the closest thing to impossible that this season will offer. GW will be resting by Halftime. It's this simple GW will spread them wide and then gut them. 3 very good RB'S and about 6 really big and fast WRs will do that to you. And that's just the starter's and a few rotation WRs. Not to count that absolutely massive front 5.

And our D has been playing lights out the last few games. And our secondary is waking up sometime like 7 or 8 ints the last 2 games.

Blaster, I 'll share this with you, and I think you will find it fitting about GW talent. A few
Weeks ago, when GW came to Chilhowie and won convincing, there was a play by GW'S
Offense that I had never seen in my lifetime.
I'll set the scene. GW was on Offense, going north toward the Chilhowie goal,
About the 35 yard line. It was a running Play by GW, coming to the Chilhowie Sidelines,
Like a jet sweep to the right side.
One of the GW'S running backs had the ball, and cut up field. Not sure which back it was,
But he was not very big, but very quick with speed to burn. About 2-3 Chilhowie defenders
We're trying to close in on him from their Defensive positions, line backer, corner, or safety,
Not exactly sure. What was so amazing was that the GW running back actually STOPPED in
Mid flight from going full speed, with his feet in the air, allowing the 3 defensive guys to miss
him, " then he changes Course in mid air ", for more additional yardage. I will repeat that: "
He changes course in Mid Air ".
Well, I was setting there with a friend, and 2 other guys behind us when this play took place,
And all 4 of us reacted in the same way: " Did we just see, what we thought we just seen ".

I have never seen a football player do that before....make that kind of move....It was so
Unusual to us all, we really didn't what to say, but "WOW". I hope your Coach got that play
On tape. Again, I have seen many HS games, but I have never seen a move or play like that
In all my days, nor had the other guys around us.
Like I said in another post : " What you can't see or catch, you can't stop or tackle".

Hey kwhs, You are probably right about Moss. I thought about that being him, but I was
Not sure. Who ever it was, that move and play was the price of addimission! You just
Don't see that kind of talent on the High School level very much. Who ever it was, I
Know they are very talented, and certainly could play on Saturday's.

Yes very good player and very fast indeed. The playoff game last year where he had two kickoff returns for a TD was very impressive. After the first one I wouldn't have given him a chance at a second one

That was Markell Moss he is a burner. He is a special talent in a small package 5'10 190. Really fun to watch last year he was at WR. But with the surplus at that position he moved to the backfield.

He is in that same spot this year on KR and has only had it kicked his way twice al year.

I just don't see many teams in the West with that kind of talent. Galax shut them
Down, but Galax is still trying to get their MOJO back. Hurley is good, but their schedule
Didn't do them any favors. There are are few more teams that could give them a game,
If GW doesn't play up to Their standards.
Right now, if I had to guess who would be in the West finals, well it's too early for that!
As for The East, Riverheads, Sussex and Essex would be solid picks..

I completely agree if we don't show up we could have another Galax type of game. But most of the time after GW gets shut down they charge gears and roll. As a GW fan I hope that's the case. If we play like we have been it's going to be very hard to get us out.

Blaster, the Moss kid is a special player. It is players like him that make GW the
Team they are: talented, speed, quickness, size, depth and we'll coached, with a
Good fan base, and a tremendous tradition.
Be proud of your team, and I see that you are. That is a special group of young
Men in Wytheville this year.I am not just saying that, heck that is what the Chilhowie
Coach said. GW has had very good teams over the years, but this
Team just may be the total package on the A1 level, if they keep playing like they
Have recently. Where most good teams have 11 Good players, GW has 3 times that
Number.

As a life long GW fan and a player this may be the most complete team we've had. And like you said we really do have 25+ that aren't just holding down the bench. They actually play that is not often seen at 1A.

Once GW hit the field, I knew we were in trouble. That is taking absolutely nothing alway
From the team I love ; that was reality.

Chilhowie is no joke they have the pieces. It might not happen this year but that is alot of really good youth. If they get hot anything could happen. Don't sleep on the Warriors come playoff time.

Blaster, those sophomores Were undefeated as Middle schoolers, 8-0. They even played
Abingdon and Gate City, and shut them both out. The only points scored on them was by,
Guess who, GW got 6 on them.
Last year, I think they only lost 1 GAME, and they went into the final game this year with
Abingdon, undefeated again. I don't know the score of that game, but yes, the young
Talent is there in Chilhowie.
As everyone always preaches about kids staying together, well they have in each class.
I recently read on another site about middle schools kids having a good year, but they
Also stated that they had several " hold backs" in that class of 8th graders.
Chilhowie does not hold back students for the purposes of athletic achievement.
So those 8th graders, we're actually freshmen playing against 7th and 8th graders.

Chilhowie has good young coaches to complement the young talent in the wings. Joey Russell I know for a fact will connect with them. And I saw that 8-0 warrior team and they have massive potential. They will be nasty in a short amount of time. After this season the only way or 2 storied teams can meet is in the playoffs. So here to hoping a late November or dare I say early December meeting awaits us lol. Best of luck going forward Chilwar and the Warriors.

Thanks Blaster, for the compliments. I have got to say Hello to our friend over in
Bland, BCBACKER. Those Bears are back in the playoffs again. They are hungry
And youthful. That is dangerous in November.

I would love to see the Bears be successful in the post season. BCBACKER knows
What Chilhowie has endured, and to see the turn around this year is a gift from above.

How about it BCBACKER, are you getting fired up for the post season? How is that
Big Freshman QB progressing?
