Re: GYER25-O

I'm all about some vacation/game/cool/fun stuff bragging, as is most everyone else..

...but NOBODY is "jealous" of a daily hot tub visit. *Nobody*

There's really not a lot of things to do right now. I enjoy it, hence I post it. The fact it pisses you two off so much is just gravy

-Steam >>>> Hot Tub

-Happy Fat Tuesday

-Green, purple, and gold is a great color combo and is wholly recognizable as the Mardi Gras colors.

-Helluva Downton episode this week, really. Poor Isis... Lord Grantham is a good dude. Man, Larry Grey is a dickwad. Wish Tom could just knock his *** out. Mr. Bates and Anna can just get completely pumped. Good for Edith.

-As much as I hate these temps the April/May tornado season around here scares the ish out of me.

-Shiner Bock is my #1 go to beer.

Re: GYER25-O

So people really eat/make Snow Cream?

I feel like I did when I was little, but I don't have any vivid memories of it.

The few recipes I saw yesterday sounded pretty nasty. Snow + sugar + Can of evaporated Milk + Dash of Vanilla extract? Pass.

Most of the pics I saw looked like soup.

Not even close. Now THAT is something I'd be interested in having one day.

My agency manager's Dad has one in his basement -- sounds unreal...although I'd imagine that's super expensive, and extreme measures have to be taken to not mess up the rest of the house somehow?

Also have to wonder if it would break every other month, like any steam room I've ever attended.

It's all those things. Ha an uncle with one and I'm pretty sure it only work for like 2 days total.

Steam rooms are awesome. Hot tubs are redneck and gross.

Dots are frustrating as hell. They always have those at our conferences/meetings, and I get suckered into them every time.

Not a fan.

Milk duds + popcorn is the only way to go.

Snowcream isn't supposed to be good, wodie. It's supposed to be fun to make. You are so dense sometimes, man.

Cool. Got any other ideas for awful tasting food that's fun to make?

Need something to do tonight.

Re: GYER25-O

Glad to make it into work today. I was getting stir crazy. Not being able to run isn't sitting well with me either. Campus roads were the best of all the ones I drove through. The sidewalks have been shoveled, but aren't quite clear yet, so I'm not sure it's safe to run on them.

Anth and I made chili last night. It was wodie. Sounds like an even better lunch today.

We had a steam room in our house...it was awesome and I don't recall it ever breaking. One of my go to waxing spots in high school.

Snow ice cream (or whatever) wouldn't make my top 15 list of fun things to do in the snow now or 25 years ago.

Yeah, but you have to take into account how big of a dbag Bryan Rax is, then it makes a little more sense.

Re: GYER25-O

I got beat up by two older kids when I was about 8-9 years old on a snow day. Just a complete beatdown... busted lip, stomach punches, pinned down in the snow with it rubbed all over my face and stuffed down by collar, stole my hat/gloves, and made off with my sled. I was about a mile from my house and had to walk home cold and thoroughly defeated. (Enjoy)

...that was probably more fun than making snow ice cream.

You give her a little pep-talk beforehand? Seems like we're making progress. there.

Ha! Yep... I was proud of her. Possibly. She's still a bit reluctant, but after 9 years I think reality is setting in that you people aren't going away. And it was really nice for the Schems to offer the tickets. So we'll see.

I didn't have the steam on...it was just located in a private area in our house that was out of the way. I was 17 trying to get a nut, not too many options when my parents were home.

Good, man. It was instantly noticeable. She walked right up to us unprovoked and started in like we were long lost friends.

Does she have a Catpaw login yet or nah?

*Love this score. Two days off work with the kids had been fun.

My front yard is steep so I made some tube paths for the kids. One starts on the top step of the front porch. They are having a blast.

*Never tried snow ice cream, looks awful.

Re: GYER25-O

Saw some video on Facebook that was pretty damn awesome. Basically a sled "course" that started on an elevated Deck, then had different mounts/curves that kept the course going with momentum...pretty cool idea.

Something like this, but the one I saw had a really high start off a multi-level deck...

Not as fun as Snow Cream, but I would have crushed this as a kid.

City sledding is for chumps, though. There were some One lane country roads/hills we'd do back in the day that you could literally *die* on.

*Cars parked on the street, fo sho. Not trying to have ANOTHER car wind up in the bushes of the house across the street.

*Would love to have a steamer in the basement. In fact, we are discussing that right now as we are starting to work on it now.

Re: GYER25-O

Tuesday SNOW Randoms:

- Stop your whining, 73. It would be different if we lived somewhere like c_b where we just got killed every week. This was the first real snow since early November in NKy/Cincinnati. I love it. Slows the world down for a minute. Office is closed so I waited until 9am to come in today. Yeah, the roads were ****** but traffic was light. In the office now and it's only my boss and me. Getting a lot done. No better work day than one with an empty office.

- I'm with SAE. Just ridiculous how quickly the basketball season goes. A lot of that has to do with the holidays and such. Seems like we're just starting to get to know Booker, Lyles and Towns- the whole team, really- and now, we only have a 6 more weeks.

- When you're closing in on a decade- or over a decade for some of us- it's no longer "internet" friends. These relationships are legit. I can go weeks without talking to one of my best friends of 30 years, but I talk to you idiots on here every day.

- The new Wiseguys Lounge (above Good Fellas, of course) in OTR is awesome- exactly the kind of chill, character-laden spot you'd expect in a gentrified old neighborhood. Best Old Fashioned in the city.

- Enjoying these Tuesday 7pm tips.

- Favorite "Guy" when it snows? Badass Big Truck Guy who just loves passing people going 70mph. You're awesome Badass Big Truck Guy. The older I get, the less patience I have for over-testosteroned dudes- meatheads, MMA Guy, Big Truck Guy, Likes To Fight Guy, etc. Just a bunch of dickweeds.

- Pretty stout group of 2-seeds out there in the tourney. OK- somebody clear this up, was I drunk or do I recall the previous couple of years, the dumbtouches in the selection committee claiming that "geographical" relevance is more important than seeding with the 1s and the 2s. What I'm saying is- does the fact we'll be the 1 in the Midwest mean our 2 would be Wisky despite the fact that they are the best 2-seed?

3rd hole at Iroquois. Downhill par 3 was a prime spot. Tons of recreational drug use in that area as well.
