Re: GYER25-O

IMO, geographical preference should get 0 consideration if said preference could be seen as negatively impacting a better seeded team in the same region. Not sure why that's never been the case, because it seems like common sense to me.

Re: GYER25-O

Reasons why my wife probably wishes I went to work:

-Booked Renaissance hotel in Cleveland. I'm fairly sure that's where we are going to go. Thought about booking a flight, but it's close enough for me to drive. If not, it's refundable.

-Almost pulled trigger on the Galt House for the Saturday game. Even if I don't get a ticket it's going to be fun being downtown that day/night.

Re: GYER25-O

Snow cream really no different than a snow cone, just with more pollutants. Bbdk should definetly try using the yellow snow.

Seems snow days led to a lot of snow fights as kids. We'd make snow forts, have snowball fights, then somebody would make an iceball and nail somebody, which would lead to the inevetible fist fight. Got my *** handed to me a few times.

Dry steam is nice, so is wet sauna. Think you can buy premade chambers for like 5-10k...rather have the spa myself.

Shoveling snow is a good workout. Tried the leaf blower last night, would have been effective if just a few inches...this was just too much.

Main roads looking decent now, sun really helping. Our neighborhood still looks like a groomed ski slope.

Forecast not looking good for my trip to Detroit this weekend...

Doc - I hear lots of negatives about steam rooms and sinus infections.

Dry sauna for me.

Re: GYER25-O

Guess geography has priority over the old "S" curve. Which is complete nonsense, UK as the #1 #1 should get the 4th best 2 seed.

Re: GYER25-O

-Gotta admit, THIS is the actual game I had circled as being our first loss, and I'm even more nervous about it now. Just passed the toughest road tests, smoked USC feeling good about ourselves, UT isn't a real name/ranked opponent, we are in Knoxville, it's not rivalry game to our players, record tied, now all the snow and crap messing with the normal pregame rituals.

Obviously makes no rational sense and I'm being a big puss, but I'm more nervous about tonight that I was about UF or LSU. We roll in this one, and i think it's smooth sailing to the SECT finals.

-Not sure how anyone can take the RPI seriously anymore (not that anyone here does). A 5 loss team still ahead of a Zero loss team? It's not like our SOS is terrible, it's like 15th in the country, with PLENTY of top 25/50 teams. That whole metric needs a serious tweak to stop penalizing top 25 teams for beating the crap out of 200+ ranked teams.

Small indoor dry or wet saunas are worse for bacteria than outdoor hot tubs. TS

Re: GYER25-O

- Saturday morning routine of workout, steam and then coffee.... Marcus feel like a new man.

- One snow day will do but work wise I don't want to get out of a routine & see things become delayed. Actually enjoy the snow aesthetically and for whatever reason it has a calming effect on me but I don't want to be stuck at home for more than 1 day. Touch that.

- Cool seeing Frank Ramsey being interviewed on Sports Center ystdy mng. Love it when we connect greats from the past.

- Towns should have a long NBA career but that kid will go on to be some form of an ambassador to the DR or something. Maybe he comes back to finish his degree in the summer and when his career is over tries to attend medical school or law school. What a special kid.

- Hoping the lass makes some jambalaya tonight for Fat Tuesday.

When I was 9-10, my buddy and I got into a fight when we were sledding on Boone Links (and it was over instantly).

It was so fun, that we contrived a way to stage the "Cliffhanger fight" where Sly rides the other guy like a sled while punching him.

We would wait for a car to come down the bend and then pretend the pummel the kid laying on the "hidden circle sled" as we both slid down the hill. (Map for reference - the hillside is next to the green and faces the road.)

We got one car to slow down and yell for us to stop. It was awesome.

Re: GYER25-O

-7 on Bobby Nichols was good but that creek at the bottom was dicey. We'd hit Greenwood boat docks as well. Nice and steep but short.

-Never once hit a ball near the green on #3 at Iroquois. Into the apartments mostly.

-I like a dry sauna but much prefer steam.

-Couple more inches tonight with some sub-zero temps should make for a nice ice rink around lex tomorrow.

-Snow in December and early January is good. Especially around the Holidays. Late February? False. Not one redeemable quality. This time of year we;re typically looking for that 2-3 day spring stretch that teases us before being in the mid 40's for another 2-3 weeks. Instead we may only see 2 days of 30+ over the next ten and those two days are suppose to be a pretty intense ice storm. Oh and with record lows projected surrounding it.

-Gonna try cycle you tonight for the first time since running is out of the question. Probably shouldn't have hit Mr. Kabab up, but it was solid. Not great but solid. Went for a Chipotle salad but those pussies were closed for business.

Re: GYER25-O

Tennessee is #101 in KenPom. For frame of reference...

Alabama is #56.

South Carolina is #64.

Buffalo is #81.

Eastern Kentucky is #96.

If we lose tonight, something has gone horribly wrong.

I just want to go on record as saying its more likely we lose to UT tonight (zero chance per Chase), than Towns finishes Med School, Law School, or ever becomes the Ambassador to the Dominican Republic.

Well, yeah, I guess there is always a chance. There is also a chance that you get hit by a meteor walking to your car, or struck by lightning while sleeping in your bed, or Doc stops posting pictures of his hot tub. But there is not a realistic chance of losing tonight. Tennessee sucks, and we're pretty good.

Tried "Rhythm Ride" at Milestone for about a month until it started to feel like someone was cutting my left knee ligaments with a dull knife every class. Knee hasn't felt right since. Loved it, though!

Re: GYER25-O

I don't get the inconvenience the snow presents to some of you. 73 even said "life or death". For f@ck sake, grow a pair.
I've been all over the city, gotten around much quicker than normal, because very few cars on the road. I mean, yeah, if you're an old women, or Japanese, I could see it being an inconvenience. But if you have 4 wheel drive and are less than 80 yes old, its just snow.

Are we just talking about Spin Class here? ...or something different?

Spinning is awesome...been "meaning" to get back into that occasionally just to mix things up, but Milestone's class times don't really fit into my preferred gym time.

Just a spin class with Jeff. High intensity. I think it's the light resistance stuff that killed my knee. Decent little soundtrack that he keeps up... and it's hands down the best scenery of a fitness class I've ever been in. Shewee, bub... head on a swivel.

Good to hear, Dennis. You can tell Mags what he makes and now predict the future for Towns in an absolute tone.

You missed my point. He's the type who will want to go above and beyond just playing hoops.

All season? No. Once we got several games into SEC play, and almost lost to Ole Miss and TAMU. Course I thought we'd come out and smack UF and LSU, simply cause I thought we'd be fired up. Wrong. Fully admit it's irrational.

Hope Chase is right.

Need to work on that pedal stroke, knees shouldn't hurt much on a bike. Next door neighbors knees are SHOT and he rides 100+ miles per week with me in the summer.

First off, I pretty much nailed what Mags makes. Secondly, stop being such a sensitive little girl. I'm merely saying that a loss at UT is MORE likely than a 30-something multi-millionaire basketball player deciding to burn 3-5 years in Law/Med School.

I agree he's a special kid, mmkay? Between him and Kidd-Gilchrist, I may to rethink this whole New Jersey thing.

Re: GYER25-O

My only issue w/ spin class is the uncomfortable *** seats and sitting/pounding on my nuts for an hour
Used to love it tho once I got used to it.

And yes, I still have my padded bike shorts, but really prefer not having to wear those ridiculous things.

-As far as the knee ---> swallow your pride and have the instructor come over and position your seat/pedal to the proper height, should help a ton.
