I don't have a problem with Ashley, but I just don't understand what she's "famous" for anymore. Why anyone gives a ****, basically.

Wasn't talking about you or anyone in here necessarily, just UK fans in general. Gets pretty venomous anytime her name is brought up, which makes no sense to me.

The only thing that pisses me off about Goodman, Forde and others is they claim objectivity. ********.

You hate Cal, fine. Own it. Don't hide behind "journalism" and say you're calling it like you see it. You write what you write because of your distaste for Calipari. Plain and simple.

Agree.

I have a good feeling about Michigan State. Because i say this they will probably get bounced by UGA but they are playing well and the majority of their losses have come against good teams. It would not surprise me to see them beat UVA without a healthy Anderson. No way UVA could score enough to run away with it so it should be tight.

The team is +30 in 42 minutes of late game situations where the margin is less than 6 points. That's good.

The guys are also shooting 78% from the free throw line as a team in the last 10 games. This is good.

If they lose, it will be from something other than "pressure". "Pressure" didn't beat UNLV in 1991. Point shaving did. Or if you don't want to go there, Greg Anthony fouling out on a BS charging call did.

The thing that amazes me about our guys is every time they're faced with a foul trouble situation, they respond really well. We lost Andrew Harrison and Karl Towns early against Arkansas to foul trouble. They were playing well. We put in Ulis and Dakari and the lead increased.

You want to pick against Kentucky, do it. But give legit reasons if you can and not "pressure".

Such a hypocrisy with those asshats. They brag and brag about how much money they make off basketball only to accuse UK of not being enough of a "college" program or experience.

Also, just because Jay Williams choked against IU in 2002 doesn't mean he has to project his failures onto everyone else.

Jay Williams also missed FTs at the end of the game in two of Duke's three regular season losses. There were warning signs about Jay Williams and "pressure".

What are Kentucky's red flags? We miss a bunch of layups, Trey Lyles sags off of his man too much on defense and if you run 1000 ball screens per game like Florida, we'll only correctly defend the last 300 because defending ball screens is physically taxing. That's all I've got.

The league isnt going belly up any time soon- but I can see this becoming more of the norm. Bank a sufficient amount of loot, then explore other options. Dont blame them in the least.

It certainly is an annual tradition for me to be amused at fans & media (same thing, lol) of a public government institution bragging about its "profitability". When's UL men's bball gonna start issuing some dividends and stock splits. rofl.

Pretty sure if you gave me UK's general ledgers I could cook the books up to show a healthy 'profit'. All the expenses are gonna get shifted onto women's rifle team baby.

Jay Williams has believed his prediction about Zona for months now. No problem with that. That's his objective opinion.

Forde, Thamel, Goodman... That's what they want to happen. Big difference.

Just so dumb. don't see how it helps those guys careers to be contrarian trolls with no facts to back it up. UK's the best team, could get beat by one of the 1's or 2's come Final 4 time but unlikely, they are the odds on fav to win the title, end of opinionating.
Jay is just projecting since he went out and choked his *** off when he was the landslide #1 team in the country in 2002.

Doesn't mean UK will choke, just like they won't go out and end their careers by wrecking a crotch rocket that violated their NBA contract, dumbass.

Goodman bothers me the least, by far, of the "UK Haters". Unlike Forde, Thamel, etc...I don't think Goodman really hates UK/Cal, just likes to push buttons and has used BBN to help parlay himself into arguably the biggest CBB guy out there these days.

He's still a bag tho. I'm not about making fun of people's appearance, physical issues/problems, etc....but My god he's uncomfortable to watch on TV. I'll stop there.

One of my favorite moments from Sunday:

On the play where Aaron threw the lob to WCS for a thunderous murkdunk, Aaron first took the pass from Ulis. As soon as he passed the ball - i.e., with Aaron still looking at him - Ulis pointed up. A second later - lob, dunk, bedlam. It's a small thing, but it tells you something about how well Ulis sees the floor.

Already burnt out on bracket/NCAA talk. Guess I watched about 3-4 hours Sunday, and the same yesterday...only so much you can hear. Let's get it on.

Pretty much the main reason I'm a 'First Four' fan. Action starts tonight, and at least presents a Gambol opportunity, if nothing else.

Serious question: is it merely a speech impediment, that he tries to compensate for by all his weird facial movements...or something more?

Props to him for becoming a feature ESPN guy despite the limitations, I guess.

I've honestly wondered if he has Bell's Palsy or something. Something is off there. Also, I wouldn't be so mean about the guy if his entire livelihood wasn't based on trolling people.

Katz is great. Still remember when pretty much EVERYONE hated him. That went away pretty quickly once he became "Cal's guy"

I used to be all right with Goodman, but he's become nothing but a UK troll. Show some professionalism. He's not as awful as Thamel or Forde, but he's pretty bad.

Now, Gottlieb isn't a UK-specific troll. He's just that UKO-type contrarian a-hole that loves to go against the grain and get under everyone's skin.

People (media, not GYERO) seem to be forgetting that this UK team, or at least 3 starters, and several bench guys - they not only faced the pressure in last year's tournament, but we are 1 of only 2 teams (with any real shot at the title) that has Final Four experience. And that's HUGE. Over half our team played 2 FF games last year. They know the E8, they know the FF.

No one else besides Wisconsin knows that. No one on AZ's team has been to the FF. No one on Duke's team has made it to the FF, no one on Nova, or Gonzaga, or UVA, etc. KU's seniors were there in 2012, but they ain't making it this year.

And past history has shown that being there recently is a HUGE advantage. UConn last year had a few guys including Napier who had been there before. UL 2013 had been there in 2012. UK 2012 had guys who had been there in 2011. F*ck 2011 UConn and 2010 Duke. 2009 UNC had been there in 2008. 2007 UF had been there in 2006 - and had the best team by far.

Obviously, it's not a pre-req to winning it all, but it's clearly a HUGE advantage that only 2 of the contenders have. If Duke makes the FF, I think Okafor and Jones **** their pants. Ditto most of the Zona guys.

Jeff Goodman. He has the perfect face for Radio, and the perfect voice for Print journalism. And basketball analysis fit for Elle or Marie Claire.

Katz seems like one of the most likeable and professional basketball media persons out there.

Just an easy going demeanor and he doesn't ever seem to
have an axe to grind with another coach or let his personal agenda get in the way of
being professional and objective.

On the whole college basketball today is really about 85% hate and 15% joy. That, and the overall stress it all involves make it a pretty toxic pastime.

So, what exactly does it take to get your big "break" in the business? It seems like some guys just stumble *** backwards into a big time radio/tv/writing gig. Jeff Goodman on tv, Brian Windhorst, Rob Bromley.

I totally get it with some dudes -- like Adam Schefter. That guy is dressed to the nines 100% of the time, good-looking, extremely intelligent and good on the mic, sharp as a tack. Jay Bilas is a gd machine. Peter Gammons. And then you have Goodman literally seizing on air while being a key player in the ESPN college basketball department. Weird.

I guess, much like any other employer, you'll have some people who are incredible at their job, and plenty of other who are downright awful.

-He reminds me of a drunk Mr. Ed chewing on a dick. He sucks. Touch him. "Hey BBN, I picked against you check it out click here -->(insider link)." Get pumped, waterhead.

-Kills me that these coaches talk about changing their style to beat UK. Yeah, thats a great idea. Go against what you've coached all year and try to be a team this complete.

-Our biggest advantage now is our legs. They're fresh. So if you're going to run screens all game, better have some Jack3d over there for the last 5-6 minutes.

Sorry, guys. We're losing to the Badgers in the Final 4. I don't know if you've heard, but Goodman was in the Wisky locker room last year after Aaron's dagger, and it was the most BRUTAL scene he's ever witnessed. UK hasn't seen versatile bigs like Frank and Hayes since, well, the final 4 last year.

Don't see Tyus Jones shitting his pants because he's been freaking nails all year for that team. Frosh or not, he's been their most clutch player and it isn't even close.

But I could certainly buy someone like Quinn Cook getting nervously trigger happy in a tight ball game even though (because?!) he's a senior. People have lauded Cook all year for playing alongside Tyus Jones so well and accepting a different role but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty I can see him start to foolishly jack up quick shots, not looking inside for Okafor, not involving Winslow, etc...

Enjoy DeCourcy. Has solid takes. Not afraid to call out some of the hypocrisy and double standard. He's very vocal against the style of play so many of these coaches have turned to when they can't get talented players.., Hacking, grabbing, slapping, fouling on every possession and mucking up the
game in general.

Think he's great on radio. Has that Cincinnati dialect that to me is the most confusing "accent" out there. Almost sounds East Coast, almost sounds like Wisconsin and with a touch of twang. Jared Lorenzen has it as well.
