I guess there's more that's been found in regards to UNC's cheating. Follow @BlueDevilicious to see some of this nonsense.

This one is great.

So, are you the stopper?

Briscoe: (big smile) is that what it looked like?

(approval)

...well, then I'm the stopper then.

:flushed: -- kid is gonna be a great interview here.

http://www.coachcal.com/36252/2015/11/humphries-briscoe-preview-wright-state/

“Yeah, and I knew that Grayson was averaging a lot of points so before the game I went over to KP (Kenny Payne) and said, ‘How many is he allowed to get?’

I love the coach-ability of Briscoe. Biggest surprise of the team. The NYC guard has a lot of stereotypes but actively seeking coaching for the betterment of a team isn't one of them. So damn exciting.

It's been said but this back court has the mentality we were all hoping from the Harrisons'. All stone cold killers but in different ways. Ulis would bring a knife to a gun fight, Briscoe a 2x4, and Murray would talk the shooter into killing himself.

Committed to the lass's holiday work party a month or so ago. It was a Thursday night. We never play Thursdays so didn't even think about it. She RSVPed us and has been talking non-stop about me meeting her co-workers.

Look today, and OF COURSE, WE PLAY GD UCLA that night. :chairshot:

I blame all you a-holes who have always been on me about getting into a relationship. Time to grow up. It's good for you. Blah blah blah.

Well, F you, Anth. Now, I'm missing the damn UCLA game and watching the Louisville game by myself at B-dubbs in Williamsburg, Virginia.

I was perfectly fine before. Still dating hot babes for a month at a time. Doing what I wanted. Being a huge college :basketball:.

Proud of Chad, but it's definitely funny watching him make all these rookie mistakes...at an alarming rate.

Guess most of us learned them over time over multiple serious relationships over 10-15 years...where he's learning them all at once.

Still, you know you're happy & kinda like it in a weird twisted way, you can't fool me.

“I mean I knew that when I was put in, I would have to stop Marshall (Plumlee) from getting those offensive rebounds that he was getting. It’s Marshall right? Mason (Plumlee) is the one that – they all look the same to me, I’m just not sure.

[laughing]

That dude is 17! Holy ****, his demeanor is impressive. I'd cringe at footage of a 17 year old Mossip in front of a microphone.

Can't even imagine what married life will be like for Chad, he may have to give up sports all together.

Nah, his girl is cool AF, it's not her fault (yet) -- he just hasn't learned how to think/look ahead, WAY ahead, yet...he's a fish out of water. He's never had to even CONSIDER these types of decisions, or how they may impact the future. I get it. It's an acquired skill, just like anything else.

He will from now on, after this fall. Or, he better...lord knows he has plenty of "points" built up. :100points:

On the positive side, he's off to a RARING start as a "great boyfriend", so there's that. [cheers]

I guess now is as good of a time as any to remind GYERO of my Newman indifference at this time last year....which I GOT BLASTED!!!! by the college basketballs for.

Never wanted the kid, at least as a priority. Preferred Blakeney, among others.

He's off to a horrific start, maybe b/c of injury...but, there is no doubt he'll be a dynamic player in THIS situation at some point.

Actually think he'll be pretty dope, he's not as bad of a kid as many portray...seems pretty normal to be honest, despite his dad.

But, he's just not a UK fit. He's a Steve Francis/OJ Mayo type -- really good player, but destined to be somewhere where he's the MAN, can get his, and move on.

Still, you'd think they'll be decent with Newman/Sword -- that should be (on paper) up there with any Guard combo in the country...minus maybe a few.

...not to mention #23 isn't in blue if he had committed like he was the "lock" to be so early on. Maybe Briscoe too.

IU is kinda scary when they're on...

Bryant is a stud. Kinda reminds me of when Patterson was our ONLY option down low his first year...

They'll lose Yogi, Bryant, Zeisloft, Blackmon, Biefleldt, and Williams most likely this year...

Like UNC, this is their last chance.

If anyone else is heading to Westwood for the UCLA game, they just opened up remaining tickets for purchase with presale code "goldout" on ticketmaster. There are a few lowers remaining, either at the $149 or $259 level. Uppers run $60-$110 each.

Propose to her on Wednesday. She'll be so busy showing off her ring at the party that you may as well not even be there. . .

Or break up with her. Whatever.

Just listened to Zagoria's podcast and he had Bam's coach on. Kid is 260 with 8% body fat. Said if he had to compare him to anyone, it would be Shawn Kemp. Said he's more skilled than he's given credit.

Sitting here watching Clippers vs. Warriors and thinking Ulis reminds me a little of Chris Paul in how he moves, dribbles, and runs an offense. Ulis = smaller Chris Paul?

After watching Newman today I have to agree he probably wouldn't have been the best fit here but fact is Howland isn't worth a **** as a coach and pretty much let him do his thing. Apparently that is what Newman (and the shoe company, which I have on pretty good authority) wanted.

Maybe in a structured setting under Cal he would excel but have fun playing in front of 1500 or so people night in and night out. Only exception is when we come to town. Really makes you wonder why any top 10 kid would go anywhere else besides UK, Duke, and maybe Kansas at this point. Possibly Mich St. Other than that makes no sense for the elite guys.

Friday Shorts:

- Holy ****- Golden State came back and won that game???? :scream:

- Well, after my initial freakout and some calm discussion, it appears I should be able to catch that second half of the UCLA game. #maturityandcompromise

- Ulis definitely has a little Paul in him, especially in regards to the way he pokes and probes the defense in transition.

- How is Howland a terrible coach? He's a pretty good coach.

- Ben Simmons is must-watch TV.

- Anybody watch the highlights of Fox's 44-point season debut? Dude is LONG, fast, in-control and has an easy J with range.

- Calvin & Hobbes debuted 30 years ago Wednesday. Few things to this day make me laugh as hard as that comic strip. Used to buy the anthologies growing up then read them cover-to-cover. Classic. Hilarious. Smart. Warm.

- Interesting season. Arguably the two favorites are teams that were decent last year, brought most everyone back but hardly added anyone- UNC and Kansas. Those teams are basically the same. From watching them early, I suppose you could argue they have gotten better, but not remarkably. They have good, not elite talent. They are certainly not scary by any means. Going in, I liked Kansas more, but if Diallo doesn't play, I'll take the Tar Heels.

Cal really does need to get a title in the next 2 years. We have a decent shot this year and even better shot next year. We simply cannot go through these next 2 years without one. I'll make it 3 if Bagley reclassifies and comes here. The next 3 years we must get 1 title. Must.
