I hope you get some BGE Cosmic Cow rub, CClark. It would be a perfect accessory to your gloves and it is delicious.

You deserve it, young man.

It isnt the level of difficulty in purchasing them, nimrod, its just that like most guys (I assume), I have a tendency to wait a little too long to replace socks and shirts in a timely manner.

Sorry life is so hard for you. Replacing socks every year is a burden most guys shouldn't have to deal with.

What are the odds that Dr. Boat has an Amazon Prime subscription to deliver monthly batches of cheetah-print man-thongs or something? Good grief.

Doctor- I'm not sure how it escapes you that it isnt the difficulty in purchasing such items, its the fact that they are basically an afterthought in the daily life of most guys. *That's* why its a good gift.

Tongue is obviously in cheek about the letting her have it. Do not care about the gift giving part at all, but why ask for a list at all if you want to get things on your own?

I'd prefer her to spend it on the kids anyway.

You're right, guess I just don't understand it. My socks or underwear get worn I just order new ones. Lucky for me, must just have that maintenance gene.

I worry about my friend Ursh, his mom needs to step up his sock game. Poor bastard is running around sockless and with troll foot on the reg.

* Worked up in Columbus the last few days finishing the first commercial I ever wrote, directed, edited and produced. Exciting for this guy. Hopefully the new responsibilities come with a hefty raise so I can afford chainsaws, BB guns, bourbon and underwear (actual gifts I have bought so far this holiday season).

* Chadwick, wanna go watch the Cats with me Saturday? 3:15 tip vs the Sun Hurleys of ASU. Free ticket. Merry Christmas.

* I cut the grass Sunday. Touching December. My lawn looks fantastic and I'm not sure if I'm happy about it or not.

* There are a lot of dog walkers in our neighborhood. When I cut the grass the other day, there were numerous piles of dog **** with 3 feet of my sidewalk. There was one pile actually on my driveway.

Judging by the evidence left behind, it is a relatively small dog.

I suspect it is someone new to the neighborhood or someone who just got a dog, because everybody is usually very courteous and this has not been a problem in the past. I mean, I've had the occasional stray turd or two, but this was an all out **** assault.

I think this happens early in the morning. I will be getting up earlier than usual and peeking out my of blinds until I catch the son of a ***** responsible.

Nope. Sorry- you made your position clear and there's no backing up. Facebook video of your mother in tears on Christmas or GTFO.

hope for a waylaying but fully expect a plodding experimenting adjusting effort. like 5 minute straight of noone allowed to do anything on offense at all until Skal has posted up and received an entry pass.

Winning idea, which we are doing with wife's family:

Adults exchange zero gifts and we take a vacation together in the spring/summer.

I have gray and yellow argyle socks that I wear with a gray suit and yellow tie. Is that acceptable? All my remaining socks are solid. I'll hang up and listen.

Appreciate SAE's efforts to keep trendy ******** out of men's fashion. There are plenty of ways to stand out without looking like you get dressed in the damn dark.

Bright colored or obnoxiously patterned socks are child's play ********. Match the color with your slacks or GTF back to junior high, sport.

I will sometimes match my socks to my shirt instead of my slacks. For example, if I wear a navy sweater with khakis, I will wear navy socks and brown shoes. This just applies to brown, black or navy, though.

Siblings and I on my side do a nice dinner with my parents and no kids. They seem to enjoy it. Wife's side is doing a family vacation this year. I prefer that then trying to find something for people who honestly have everything they "want" at this stage in life.

SAE is off here. Nothing wrong with spicing up the socks assuming it's not a professional event.

SIDENOTE: I do miss the derogatory use of the word "gay." Now would be a perfect time to use it. Alas, I understand it is offensive and shouldn't be used like that anymore, so I won't. Still, I'm just saying it was useful. (with a nod to Louis CK's take on its cousin, the F word)

Does one go for the double whammy of exuberant exposed cuff innards and whack-a-doodle socks or save that power play for special occasions like wedding proposals and graduations?

You can get 10 years for wearing those socks?
Should be 20, IMO. Those pink ones are downright obscene. I guarantee the owner of those beauties either commits fraud on a regular basis or partakes in a whole lot of illegal sodomy.

The one annual item that has stood the test of time for me is pajama pants. I have about 6-7 pairs in the rotation, and all Christmas gifts from Mom. #blessed

As for her, for many years running I've gotten her one of these rascals for Christmas. She absolutely worships. Decent collection going, actually.

Congrats on getting your Mother a $3 Hobo statue. You cheap ***.

Ha! Learn Byers' Choice, bub. It's big amongst some hens aged 60+. Handcrafted **** we're talking about here.

And if they appreciate (they won't), Dad should be in a pretty prime position to inherit them some day.
