Honestly, I really don't care much for Christmas-the commercial holiday anymore. Sure, when you're a kid it's great. Pretty much when I got my toys for the year outside of the birthday or report cards (Only for straight A's, none of this participation ****. Sprinkles are for winners.)
As an adult, it just feels like another tax. At least my family and I have started giving gift cards unless somebody actually wants something. Will spoil my niece, and that is actually fun.
Then there is the gift etiquette, somebody buys you something that you hadn't really thought about giving anything. Are you sort of obligated now to buy them something, even though they gave you something dumb you don't even want?
I do enjoy going to church, seeing the decorations, and having time with the family. But the commercial aspect of it can get pumped. Christmas is for kids, and the retailers trying to sell you a Holly Jolly Christmas-you need to buy our stuff!!!
Give me Thanksgiving all air.
