In two weeks I've personally gone from thinking every Ulis three will torch the nets to feeling like he might as well be Rondo taking that shot.

It was 1 good game from them as a unit (on both ends) out of what, 10?

I'd say that is a fluke.

I mean if big honk didn't score early that was 25points. Duke is worse defensively so I'm sure that played a factor.

I think so, yeah. We haven't played like that before or since.

Maybe it looks different from the lower level, dunno. We looked like world beaters in that game, and haven't come close since even against ****** teams.

Not even sure we've covered.

A fluke would be hitting 15 3's. It's something that's not likely to be replicated. The Duke game wasn't a fluke, but rather a glimpse of what the team could be when clicking. Eventually they will begin to get it together and have more "Dukes" and less "UCLAs".

UCLA beating us like a drum for 40 minutes was also a glimpse of that they can be when clicking then.

I think we're a pretty ****** basketball team compared to our ranking/expectation, sorry. We have as much room to improve as anyone, and hopefully we will.

It's December and I promised myself after the last 2 seasons I'm not putting too much stock into December results with a young team. But there are disturbing trends on defense that I'm not sure get fixed over time.

We definitely have more room to improve than anyone. No doubt about that and that's not totally positive.

Think Mattox has the correct Duke game take.

We suck. Preseason was a bamboozle. Can't hit **** from outside. Seriously do we have shooting drills? Wish we had a Devin Bricker.

I honestly think the shooting will come around before the post play. We had a million points in the paint against an OVC team, but our front court kinda sucks. There's a reason Lee and Poythress are upperclassmen here and it's not because they just couldn't leave the cheddar tots behind. Skal is the most lost of any Cal big man and I put that on his high school coaching. It has completely failed him. I'd rather see more small ball with Willis or Matthews at the four. We aren't gonna be a great post team, let's play uptempo and play to our strengths. Duke won it all last season playing three guards, a wing and a center.

DId you all not see how often Poythress & Lee got abused tonight on defense? It's not just Skal.

Mix in some shooting for the love of God, it's not like you're taking out elite defenders to do so.

Welp. Kinda feel bad for Wynyard now. Cal said he's gonna play him and hope he's the answer to toughness issues.

What fans heard - "SAVE US OBI WYNYARD, YOU'RE OUR ONLY HOPE!"

Have a hard time believing he can help when Izak gets zero minutes vs EKU.

Maybe not the best game for him given their style, but if it's toughness Cal is bitching about then why didn't he give the guy a shot rather than let the other pussies get 25-30 minutes?

He's at least shown a willingness to throw his body around and give maximum effort.

Yeah, well no one has one of those this season. Also there's no team with four lottery picks and ten NBA players or a senior laden, Final Four experienced team led by a seven footer who can bury 20' jumpers.
