Well I'd die if Skal ever passed it out of the post instead of turning over to a quadruple team.

The absolute root of the problem is that this is a piss poor shooting team. The book has been out since the Wright St game. Sag, sag, sag, and sag because no team is going to respect our shooting enough. Every time we drive or a post player gets the ball there are 3-4 bodies surrounding that player.

Ohio St basically sat back daring us to shoot. It worked well enough where we dug ourselves too deep of a hole that the margin of error was so small in a comeback. Miss

Also, this will be highly unpopular but I don't give a ****. Tyler Ulis is a really nice role player and table setter who's tough as nails/smart but if we're counting on him to be a primary scoring piece, we're in deep trouble. He's not capable of that. He's so much better when he's surrounded by other scorers where defenses can't afford to gameplan against him & make him the focal point of their D bc of the players around him.

Don't get me started on Poythress yesterday. Dickfingers extreme.

This team is severely limited. Lack of inside scoring and atrocious outside shooting = recipe for a long winter.

Only hope for Saturday is that UL has a poor shooting night and the crowd has one of those Rupp moments lifting a team in need to make us play with crazy energy so we look a lot better than we really are. Who knows. Rivalry games are funny.

UK was headed to the NIT after the baylor loss at 2 am in dallas a couple of years ago, per everyone. Gonna lose some frustrating games this year, but do you people just instantly forget whats Ca'ls done here in the past?

Just enjoy that we're going to beat UL, again, in just 6 short days. Right when they're (for some reason) getting mouthy again.

I haven't seen anyone in this thread being overly negative (outside of in-game redass which is a GYERO tradition), just more of a readjusting of expectations for this squad.

Like I said earlier, we can still be dangerous in March but we are going to lose more games than I thought we would preseason and certainly following the Duke game.

Quite frankly, a lot of it boils down to the fact that Skal just isn't elite and he was billed to be a top 3 prospect...that changed the dynamic of this team.

And because he's still billed as "the #1 pick!!!" we will continue to see his special *** start, dig a hole, and pray we can come back in the second half.

The thing that gets me is his lack of positioning. He has no earthly idea what he's supposed to be doing. He runs into our own players and ****. Knocks rebounds out of our hands. I'm gonna blow a gasket watching him and poy try to catch everything with their *****.

It infuriates me that since Cal got here UL has same amount of titles, Duke has one more than us, and UNC and KU stand a decent shot and getting one this season. WTF does it take to kill Rick Pitino off? Sucks that UNC is in this position after a scandal and a coach who is selfish.

Feel like we beat UL with a raucous Rupp.

I'm not counting on him one bit but man wouldn't it be nice if the wood chopper came in and was a bruising, rebounding, physical force for us?

I think Cal gets this figured out but it just won't be enough to win 6 straight and I need another title in the worst way. Will be interesting to see the possible logjam at guard next year and the chemistry among 4 worthy guys.

Hoping Lee comes back, have to think he will. Willis should transfer but may want to be a token on a possible title team next year. Skal will go, surely 30 teams won't pass on him.

So what happens to Ulis next season? No way he starts he over Fox, right? Or does Cal roll 3 guards with Ulis, Fox, and Monk? And Briscoe can't go pro with that busted shot. He's like a smaller Keith Bogans with a worse shot. He's an extremely small SF. Guess we won't have many issues at guard next season.

Having Briscoe or Ulis back with the crew coming in would be awesome.

- My redass was at a 9 on Saturday. Fuming. I do bounce back a lot better from losses in my old age.

- It's revisionist claiming '11 and '14 were in better position to turn things around than this squad. This thread sure as hell wasn't full of optimists those seasons.

- You're just going to have to dig in and be patient as this squad develops. Have faith in the staff and the kids. Easier said than done, I know, but Cal's turned us on a dime a few times before. Buy into the process or be miserable for 3 months.

- I don't love Poythress/Lee but generally you can count on one of them to show up. Both were terrible against Ohio State.

- Ulis started the game looking as good as he has since Duke then he lost it. Of course, Murray went the other way busting out like we've been waiting for all year. Eventually, those two will get on the same page, which also will allow Briscoe to just do Briscoe things.

- Just having Murray and/or Ulis knocking down Js changes this team.

I'd still trade one of those 4 for a shooter.

Gonna be a process year. Meh, I still believe 100% in Ulis, Murray and Briscoe. Once they figure things out we're pretty good. Then it's finding something, anything on the inside.

-Ulis is having a good season but he's not where we thought he'd be, which is AA caliber/best point guard in country. I think a lot comes from the mix of players he's dealing with. No post scoring and 2 other former point guards playing off the ball for the first time. Taking Ulis off the point is NOT the answer. Getting the other 4 asshats in the right position and playing quality basketball is the reason.

-Even when Murray was streaking something felt off.

-Well we knew that Poythress game was coming.

-Cal is absolutely going to ride with Skal sink or swim. Positive note, Skal gets in foul trouble at such a clip it shouldn't be an issue.

-No problem getting Mulder some run, we need another shooter. I feel like they scored like 10 unanswered in that period but we gotta find a sniper. Mulder or Willis and Willis was limping around on the bench. I assume he woulda got those minutes.

NYC:

-I just love that city. It's amazing. Stayed UES for the first time. Great area for G and Grams but a little too removed from the fun.

-WTC Museum, shew. I rarely cry about anything but eyes welled up a couple times in there. Intense, is the word I would use. They did a REALLY good job with everything. It's not fun but something I would suggest to anyone over the age of 18. You have to see it. Lot of emotions.

-Catches a lot of heat but I actually like the new WTC building. I'm sure Joey hates it.

-Like a total idiot I left my jacket at home. Swung in Barbour and picked up a new one while I was up there. Gotta admit, they seem worth the hype although I didn't get one of those ugly waxed ones. Wasn't too expensive for me buying it in NYC either.

-Bemelmans Bar might be my favorite bar in the world. Just love it. Old School inefficient layout, crowded and loud, always excellent live music, great vibe.

-Traveling with G is fun, being on eggshells hoping he doesn't have a screaming incident is unnerving. In 8 flights he's only gotten sassy once for about 5 minutes. Felt like 2 hours.

Ready for a Mom/Dad trip. Desperately.

-If you're looking for a good movie -> People Places Things staring Jemaine Clement(Flight of the Conchords) is really good.

Working today then gonzo until Jan 4. seems the building & parking garage is maybe 25% occupied.

guilty of it in the past, but I've avoided UL homer radio outside of the ***** revelations. damn, sure would be a nice change for that to flare back up just a little bit.

I really would like to see Briscoe out top on offense. See if Ulis and Murray on either side of him would force the defense to be more honest. His man could sag off of him, but with a little head of steam he can generally blow by the first defender. He was who set up Poythress on that 3 he made in the second half Saturday on a drive and kick. The problem is making certain he is under control and his passes are accurate. Kicking to a shooter is not nearly as effective if they have to pick the pass up from their shoelaces or reach wide right to make the catch.

I'm still in the same spot as I've always been with Ulis. He's a very good player, but essentially a role player for a Super Elite team, which is where we desire to be. He provides flexibility in being a great backup to a Harrison, Wall, Knight, Fox type. If he's surrounded by a bunch of superstars, he's obviously much more effective, but he can't do it on his own like a Brandon Knight. He's a solid character kid, and will provide veteran leadership in 2016-17. But he's basically a really small Anthony Epps type, which isn't a bad thing. He's just not an "it' guy. And I'm ok with that. And I think Cal is ok with that.

No ****. GYERO December 10 and 13 were full blow redass. Jones and Knight were struggling, we had to roll with Harrellson, don't get me started on the Harrisons, Randle was using the infinite spin move, James Young passing to everyone but his teammates.

The pieces are weird but it's not the same as 12-13. IMO.

2011 had a do-it-all PG and PF, and future high 1st Round Draft Picks. 2013 had a Top 5 pick, a future Lottery pick, and the Water Fountain.

This team has marginal NBA talent at best.

13's struggles were much easier to take because Cal couldn't/didn't F up 12.

Wasn't sure that I was ready to, but think I will enjoy this season's misery as everyone suggests. Losing Saturday will just be our next step in the journey! Thanks, guys.

And I won't mention Louisville media if you guys promise to take all Star Wars talk to the D League. Again, thanks.

Yeah, I'm working all this week, and next week. Christmas and New Year's being on Friday pushes pay day up a day which is extremely stressful. And clients who want their houses finished yesterday adds even more stress.

But it's all about the kids. And without that, it would infinitely more stressful. Watching Star Wars multiple times this weekend was fun.

The Force Awakens was awesome. A+, seeing in the RPX theater in 3D was choice. Would consider doing again on IMAX.

Christmas Week Randoms:

- Working M-W this week, company is closed Th and F but we will allow people to work a few hours if they want on Th

- Just closed on one of our townhomes, love getting that check right before end of year.

- Skal is lost, completely overwhelmed. Dude is a basketball stupid, has no idea how to position for a rebound.

- Got Baby Hov's room finished out on Saturday, getting his furniture this week and then we just wait for his arrival

- Getting a dual axle International boom truck with a 20 ton lift and a derrick drill on the back. A beast of a vehicle, can't wait to drive that sucker.

- Plan on drinking an increased amount of bourbon over the next 7 days, can't wait for the 4 day weekend ahead.
