If you heckle sometimes you get flipped off. Meh.
Not sure if this take or Crickets is the worst one of the night. He is a 60+ year old man who gets paid $6m by a university to be a leader. Keep you head down and keep walking. I just think it's hilarious. Really think it eats at him that he is not beloved here.

JMO but I feel that was more about TmfH than Pitino.

Two Harris mistakes:

1) 1-9

2) Todd Harris concedes, "It looks more like a fist (on video). I don't think there's any view that saw it definitively."

^ This is your chance to go all in and leave no doubt it was the bird, but you blew it, you gave the weasel an out.

Yeah, probably best not to tweet out that RP flipped the bird immediately after, and then retract it when questioned by a reporter.

I mean, presumably, what he tweeted was based on his real-time impression, so why not stick to your guns?

(Love ya, buddy).

I really, really, really hope that whether or not someone walked on a missed game winner doesn't become the focal point of the discussion following this game. Who gives a damn? He missed. Let's discuss **** that might actually matter. Ulis shooting touch returning. Briscoe's injury. Skal's lack of development. Murray's struggles. Hawkins' contributions. Matthews' defense. Anything but whether their kid walked before he airballed his shot.

As for 6-foot-11 big man Skal Labissiere, who has now managed just 4 combined points in his last three games and 22 points in his last six, the scout was not nearly as kind.

"Big Skal, no strength, no toughness, no game," the scout said. "Comes off the bench, plays 10 minutes, had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 0-for-3 from the floor. Shot an air ball on an easy hook.

"That guy is what you call a 'Paper Tiger,' a mock draft myth. He's a f***in' fantasy, that guy."

Told that DraftExpress.com had Labissiere projected as the No. 5 pick in the draft after he was once at No. 1, the scout said: "No. 5, he's not No. 1, he's not No. 5, he's not No. 51. That's a joke.

"He's not going to play anymore for Kentucky, I don't think. There's nothing he could do. The Louisville big men are mediocre at best. Truth be told, they're below mediocre. He couldn't do nothing with them. He's a fraud. The thing is going the other way fast."

He added: "You gotta see kids play against big-time college athletes and then you can make some kind of assessment. ...This is Rupp Arena, sold out, this is religious tribal warfare. It's one of the great rivalries in college basketball and if the kid didn't have a big name, he wouldn't even have played because he didn't deserve to play. That's my opinion."

If Skal didn't come in with such a big rep he would be penciled in for his JR year. WCS looked more capable as a freshman. I mean I'm not writing him off yet but we're at SEC play and he looks like it's the first day of practice.

Skal's legacy at UK will be as the answer to a trivia question. That is it. He is a footnote.

He might be the biggest recruiting whiff that I can think of at UK

While that assessment may be correct right now, it's a bit ridiculous to write him off permanently. Maybe he's not 1 and done, but that doesn't mean he's going to be awful forever. It's extremely disappointing that he's so terrible at the moment, but the guy has a very high ceiling if he ever *gets it*.

I don't see it happening this year, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't ever turn out to be a lottery pick type player.

For now though, we feel like victims of the basketball version of a Nigerian prince scam.

I don't have faux outrage over a heckler getting flipped off. Yeah, he should've walked away but is anyone actually offended? We don't have a problem with coaches cussing and threatening 18 year olds who can't defend themselves but make a big deal about giving the bird to a heckler? Sorry... dont care.

As a "leader", if you keep your job after banging a ***** in a restaurant and have an assistant coach running a poor mans "Regina's" out of a dorm I doubt flipping someone off even registers on the moral outrage scale. If he was paid to be a leader he would've already been fired. He's paid to win basketball games.

-Now that we're past UL I expect a healthy dose of Skal. If that put back goes down... damn.

-Murray. Certainly got the James Harden ability to suck and be awesome in the same sequence. He's still just pressing.

-Ulis. ROLE PLAYER. lol.

-2 top 15 wins and 2 losses headed into conference. Not awful.

-Extended family Christmas should be more enjoyable today.

Ulis getting his shot back is no suprise, Skal moving around like a newborn foal out there with absolutely zero toughness or basketball sense is nothing new but HEY, let's rehash it some more doh, good for Hawkins as he by all accounts is a great kid, we beat UL hooray for us, Pat Adams is an awful, demonstrative official rivaling that of TV Teddy, I'm about 80% certain #WeTheNorth was point-shaving yesterday, etc etc etc

Anything else, Coolcat?

And a poster that doesn't think that Lee jack from the corner was a walk deserves scrutiny and ridicule. I'll post about it if I please thank you and goodnightnow

putting skal on the bench kills his confidence. unfortunately, putting him in the game kills the confidence of the other 4 players on the court, his teammates, the coaching staff, players...

powered thru 8 episodes of making a murderer yesterday. jesus h. im worn out from laziness. woke up at 6am, bailed on my run group, fired up a pot of folgers, and got to work.

being offended by pitinos middle finger makes you a raging douche. laughing at his immaturity, celebrating his thin skin, reveling in his misery, etc makes you a great fan.

how many teams can match 2 wins as good as duke and louisville?

while we're at it, how many teams would kill for a front line anchored by lee and poythress, with skal/humphries getting scrub minutes? eek.

Not sure anyone is outraged or even pretending to be, at least not in GYERO. The concensus seems to be that it was touching hilarious. HOFCRP's level of butt hurt from losing the game and the fact that UK fans don't even respect him let alone like him.

It had to be something pretty serious that was said. I mean Pitino just said this week that he doesn't really get into the rivalry, so this was essentially like playing Northwest Utah Valley State A&M Presbyterian to him.

- Is this the most techs we've ever had at this point in the season? Seems we've gotten one every game.

- In 3 of the most important "fan" games, Ulis has been ridic- Duke and two Louisvillegames.

That Marlana VanHoose video:

1. Red just doesn't get into the game at Rupp. A few scattered fans, but nothing of consequence

2. That girl has some pipes. I would much rather her be our "celebrity fan" than Ashley Judd.

Finished Making a murderer...that was some binge watching.

Pretty hilarious that HOFCRP last act in Rupp arena may have been flipping off TMFH. I mean really, think about it.

Treadmill and Fargo 2 today.

As bad as Skal is, he was, at times, in decent position to make a play yesterday, which is something.
I think Cal is doing the right thing to bring him off the bench, not just for the team, but for Skal. He can watch the game for awhile and get instruction on what's happening, and then come out and try to focus on doing a few good things with much lower expectations. Everybody is down on him, and for good reason, but nobody hates the kid. We all want to see him succeed. This gives him a chance to learn and improve without the weight of the season being on his shoulders.

-Definitely a walk. But who cares? Only reason to bring it up is in response to UL fans whining about the refs - who absolutely kept them in the game.

-No one, I mean, NO ONE is actually offended about the Pitino bird. But we all think its hilarious that he is such a ***** he did it, then even more hilarious that he then lied about it, then lied some more about how it was justified. And then it's even more hilarious that UL fans/lapdogmedia feels the need to perform mental gymnastics to explain how he didn't actually do it. Own it, you fukboi tools. If Cal had flicked someone off, I'd be laughing and talking about how brash and awesome he is.

-Skal sucks. He might get better. He might not. Can we leave it there?

-I love piling on, but Ulis=role player joke has run it's course. 73 knows his statement was wrong, let's move on.

Pat Adams is an awful, demonstrative official rivaling that of TV Teddy
I don't know when this happened exactly, but at some point in the last 3 years, Pat Adams became the worst referee in the game. He sucks and I dread games where he officiates because he officiates like somebody who resents the fact that he's 5'3 and takes it out on the tall guys. At least Ted Valentine usually makes good calls and is just a dick about it. Adams isn't even good at that.

Might have happened during the Florida/Tennessee SEC Tournament game when he called a foul on Jeronne Maymon and stared him down and goaded him into a technical foul.

* What do we even make of Louisville? Obviously, they're pretty good. Good enough to beat us and Michigan State but couldn't close it out on the road. Got Duke & Virginia twice, UNC at home, at Miami. I'm feeling a 27-6-ish year. Is that too nice? Big fan of both transfer guys + Mathiang pre-injury.

* Anth's wrong about people not hating Skal. That anonymous scout HATED him. It would have been just as effective to say "I don't think he can play at all." And for now, that's fair. But that dude was so mean spirited, like a food critic reviewing a meal that gave him diarrhea. Think Cal took exception as well.

*Marcus Lee guarded well. He's getting there. Getting better at position.

Against North Carolina and Louisville, 2 of our biggest rivals, Andrew Harrison averaged 12.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 5.0 APG.

Solid point, as usual.

and last year harrison had the worst game of his career against louisville. 3 points, 1-6 shooting, 6 turnovers.

ulis had a career high 14, btw.

so that's probably 2 years in a row he was our best player on the court against our arch rival.
same thing as harrison, basically.

how many regurgitated jon scott stats do we need to convince you that ulis is a badass? (and andrew harrison was not)

Love to borrow my dad's Trek when I'm home and just ride around Lexington. No real route, just basically ride past all the places I went as a kid until I get about 20 miles in. Henry Clay, Ecton Park, the Island, Lakewood, etc. Always love it. Even rode past Doc Boat's childhood home. You all might not believe this (because I'm lying) but there is a plaque outside that reads "A Doctor Lived heer". Misspelled and everything thing. Crazy.

the idiots who fall for the "cut and paste some stupid message in your Facebook status so you can maybe win like a bajillion dollars from warren buffett/bill gates/mark zuckerberg/etc" are bad enough, but the ones who precede such post with:

"welp, doing this JUST IN CASE" are a whole other breed of stupid.

like adam, for example.

good luck, buddy. you never know!!! and fyi, ive got a 40% off coupon at krogers. gimme your email and ill hook you up!!
