That Rowland take down the jersey article was idiotic. No way that kid has any understanding whatsoever about the Pitino Era at Kentucky. The truth is if Pitino would have stayed, he'd be mentioned right along side Coach K as the greatest of this era and all time.

Pitino is basically two different people in my head. The coach I loved who gave us some of our best years as fans. The coach I hate who is a despicable prick.

Pitino is essentially the reverse of a butterfly. He came to us beautiful and unique, and then transformed into a slithering disgusting insect. Butterfly Pitino I hold carefully in my hands, showing it off to everyone I see. Slithering disgusting insect Pitino I want nothing more than to squish with the heel of my boot.

SAE - I agree with you on not removing his jersey. That's dumb. That honor is for what he accomplished here. Unless he joins ISIS (insert UofL joke here), never a reason to take it down.

I disagree though that he is the same person now that he was then. That's not close to accurate. Sure he has always had that cocky brash arrogance, but his behavior at UofL is despicable. Maybe 9/11 changed him. [eyeroll]

Pitino reminds me of the person who was a stellar athlete early on, had great success, but then stopped growing and everyone caught up / surpassed him but he still clings to his perceived greatness in his mind.

Rowland and I are the same age. I really hope other people in that age demographic aren't on his side of the fence on this one. He's the wrongest.

If you get a title and "Clawing to the Top" during your tenure as coach, your jersey stays, and I don't care if it comes out that he used to post on this network as Gog.

His style now is completely unlikable. I mean his UK teams were high scoring fun as hell to watch all out pressing teams. I guess it's because college basketball ball has changed but since he came back he is one of the biggest reasons hack ball has made college basketball outside of your favorite team unwatchable.

Helps when you have the most talent on the court.

Go back and forth with Pitino. Growing up he was Kentucky Basketball to me and I will always be grateful for his 8 years. People seem to discount how bad of shape the program was in. Inches away from the death penalty to be exact. He is a major chapter of the UK program. What an awesome ride he gave us.

Like to remember Pitino for his tenure at UK & separate him from the UL coach. The conflicting problem I have is the older I've become the more I realize he's a total sociopath and IMO not a very good person. It's all about him and will always be about him. Not to mention he tried to heavily influence our coaching search twice (07,09) because he wants to control the state and never wanted a legit threat 75 miles east. Nor does he want a coach at UK to upstage what he accomplished from 89-07.

Pitino always tried to make it out that he is bigger than the program he coaches. He cut off a ton of former players when he coached at UK and would never acknowledge Rupp. Look at Saturday, what he did postgame is another sign that his spineless move is bigger than the great game on the court.

Love Pitino's tenure at UK and what he accomplished was nothing short of magical. Still think Cal is so much more of the perfect fit for being the UK coach. Cal enjoys the job and all that it entails off the court much more than anyone else we've had at the helm. He doesn't degrade our Billy Joe Wildcat fans for their craziness and in fact embraces it. Cal's the type who loves to generate the friendships with the big donors but also is comfortable letting Billy Joe Wildcat put his arm around him and being a "man of the people." Think he identifies with this segment of our fanbase because of his roots in Pittsburgh and his grandfather working in the coal mines. Cal gives back more to the community as a whole and influences our former players to do the same. He gets that he can use the seat he's in to do some powerful stuff in a good way.

Plus, we all need to more fully embrace the fact that Pitino, while lauded as a God in Louisville these days, was simply better when he was at UK. The reason he's been at UL longer is because he was so damn good at UK the Boston Celtics gave him 70 million dollars to leave- and that's after a lot of other teams tried to take him. That doesn't happen to him now.

So yeah, keep the jersey up, idiots. He'll leave UL having taken twice as long to do as much as he did at UK in half the time. And he'll leave having been owned by the current coach at UK, and having articles like this being written about him as he slides out the door. Leave the banner up as a reminder of the best example of the difference between the UK and UL basketball programs. Also, whores.

One Massachusetts family had a rough Christmas with a PlayStation 4 gift gone wrong.

Boston's Fox 25 reports that nine-year-old Scott Lundy was given a new PlayStation 4 Uncharted bundle for Christmas. But when he opened it, he found a piece of wood instead with the message "from c**k and balls with love." There was also an image of those two things scribbled on the box, according to Kotaku.

"He's crying and he's upset and he's in the playroom by himself and he just wants to be alone so at that point. I was crushed," Lundy's step-mother Kristin Lundy told the news site.

The family then traveled to the Saugus, Mass. Target where they bought the system (because Santa's elves can't manufacture electronics as the North Pole, they told him) and informed a manager about what happened. Target made things right, not only giving the family a new PS4, but also a $100 gift card.

But, unfortunately, it appears the damage was done for the young man.

Kristin Lundy wrote on Facebook: "This has ruined his belief in Santa."

-BBdk dead?

-Everyone commenting on working today. Why wouldn't you work on a Monday? What am I missing?

-Speaking of that. I am idiot!! Since my little comment on G sleeping he's decided NOT to sleep. Awesome. Sleep crying. GRRR. I never call in sick or miss work unexpectedly but almost pulled the trigger today for a late arrival. Manager is off so not really an option. Get here and realize I'm closing and was supposed to come in at 11 or 12 and could've just slept in.. :weary:

-Off to the gym.

Is there not at least some small percentage of those sycophantic bootlickers that are ashamed and embarrased by constantly doing mental gymnastics in order to rationalize Pitino's behavior? Do they not value their own intellectual integrity?

I'm a little embarrased for them, honestly.

One of the primary reasons to work out/run is to get away from the house, the kids, the chores, the responsibilities, etc. Having a home gym would completely defeat the purpose. If I want to run 6 miles on a Sunday, I can say "hey, heading out to run. Will be back in a couple hours." On the other hand, if I'm in the basement on a treadmill, what's to stop me from being asked to bathe one of the kids when I'm halfway through? Or to fix lunch for one of them while the wife is tending to one of the others? Getting away for a little while to burn some calories is my time. If I have to stay at home to do that, there is no my time.

Learn solitude.

At this point they will justify anything. A reflection of their shameless culture. We'd all be outraged if Cal did the same. UK was outraged when Hobo was an *** to Jeanine Edwards.

I'm certain if the following took place we would see the following reaction:

* Pitino runs to midcourt as the horn sounds & takes a dump on the UK logo.*

Local media.. " I mean, hey, the man needed to take care of his business. What was he supposed to do? When you have to go, you go."

[laughing]

The idiot gets caught in more lies than Pinocchio. Claims he told Kenny Klein 24 hours before the game no matter win or lose he wasn't doing media post game.

Yet Kenny Klein was in the media room telling those in attendance Pitino will be in shortly. Then changed several min later to Pitino will meet outside of locker room. THEN again changed to only Williard will meet with media.

Klein got dementia? [laughing]

He will throw anyone under the bus to benefit himself. Klein is a GREAT guy and has been very loyal to Pitino, yet he basically calls him a liar.:eyes:

My dad was a UPS driver and his route was UK's campus. He'd always come home and tell me stories about conversations he'd had with Pitino, how nice he was to him, etc. Hed surprise me with basketball tickets and tell me Pitino had given them to him. I believed it all of course, even though it very likely wasn't all true. However, my dad thought Pitino had hung the moon and did so until he passed away in 2008. I don't know if he'd still be like that nowadays, but that's the main reason I hold out some hope that the insane corpse like maniac Pitino has become will revert back to the cool fun dude we knew in the 90's. I doubt it now that he has flipped off the faithful, but one can hope.

-Decided the morning of to go down to Rupp and scalp tickets with a buddy. Good play. $140 each for 3rd row uppers in the corner (215). Great seats, really.

-I've sort of come full circle with Pitino. I'm certainly over his taking the UofL job. I get the disdain that's out there, and he certainly didn't endear himself in this latest installment. Still, when I see him in Rupp I remember the good times, probably more vividly as time goes on, ironically.

I absolutely worshiped the way his UK teams played. I loved his attitude & intensity when it personified the program. I loved the panache he brought. I completely fell in love with UK basketball when he was there.

And still, he's a big part of our UK DNA whether some care to admit it or not. In this modern era of basketball his impact reverberates through the program, as much as Cal has put his identity on it. It's there, even if its muted.

So when I see morons (Justin Rowland) calling for his jersey's removal from the rafters I get a little pissed off, and frankly it pushes me closer to him because it just makes me remember how awesome that era was. Like Jones I used to think one day he'd be welcomed back and recognized, but I am not so sure anymore. He shoulders some of the blame, but at any rate it makes me sadder as that thought fades.

Bad person. Poor loser. Liar. Whatever. People don't change, and he was all of that when he was ours, but I still loved him. Cal is often tagged as the *perfect* UK basketball coach, but that title, for me, still belongs to Pitino. He was the perfect UK basketball coach. If you want to "cleanse" the program of him, then you just don't get it.

**ducks**
Worst SAE post ever.

And for the record, I don't think it's an unreasonable take to consider the banner coming down.

It's a damn honor, not a right to be recognized in that manner. Pitino has done everything possible to directly thumb his nose at UK, it's fans, etc. If he has zero regard for his time here why should we?

He did come back and have great words at Keightley's memorial service which had me leaning a bit in his direction, if im honest. That was his chance to continue on with some good will towards UK and it's fans, but instead the ******* went the other way. Still, no way there should even be a thought of taking down his jersey in Rupp.

I don't think we should take his banner down, but I like having the conversation about it. Not for coaching UL, but for runnin a rogue program that used whores to lure recruits and provide benefits to players. Knew, didn't know, I don't care. Serious NCAA penalties and there is at least some rationale to it coming down.

Won't happen though. And I'm fine with that. It's a painful reminder of how he gave up Camelot for Camelot East.

I don't think that's true, SK. He's gone on record multiple times saying it was a mistake to leave, it was Camelot, etc. If the guy is finally giving UK and its fans a collective "get pumped," not sure I can really fault him for it. I'll still remember the good days, and how they were dope.
