- Can't even imagine what Devin Booker is slaying out in Phoenix. :flushed::fire::raised_hands::100points:

- I'm not some self-righteous MLB HOF nut. Frankly, I don't care much about it anymore, but if you're hardcore about NOT letting juicers in- how the hell did Piazza make it? I know, I know- there's never been any proof, but I do have these :eyes: and it doesn't take much damn sense to figure out he took PEDs.

The nice part is this and it's a fact. Cal isn't leaving, isn't retiring, until he gets a minimum of 2 titles here. No way he wants to stay tied w/Joe,Tubby and Rick in that department. He also has talked about catching UCLA, so yeah, him leaving with only 1 would not only be a huge disappointment to us, it would absolutely kill him as well. I'm very hopeful much like last year that next year is the year. We may, may, make some type of run this year but a title seems completely out of the question for me.

Donovan will be back in college within 2-3 years. Durant and Westbrook will both leave via free agency. Likely landing spot is Louisville IMO.

- Think once Auburn gets better Pearl's deal will receive more pub.

Avery Johnson was a very good, out of the box hire and he has a ton of personality. Watched Bama play a few times and they really play their *** off for him. Players coach. You would think with his Texas AAU connections and being a former NBA player and coach he will recruit well there.

It's pretty amazing what Martin has done this year at South Carolina considering how awful they've been in recent past. Those dudes are starting to play like his KSU teams.. Extremely physical and they murder the glass.

Think Cal realizes he has to do all he can do to help promote the league so he's staying away from picking fights against other SEC coaches. He privately loathes Mike Anderson.

Think the older Cal has become he's been more at peace with the fact he's at Kentucky, achieved a great deal and doesn't need to be the swinging up and comer underdog picking fights with the establishment. Part of me wishes he would show some of his former self because I think he's at his best when swirling in controversy.

- Last year is still lingering for me. Hate saying that but it's the truth. Still somewhat numb bc of the obvious. To be so dialed in and ate up with reaching college basketball immortality kmowing it would've never been done again. The ultimate trump card.

- We are spoiled in the big picture. Nobody has won more games since 09 than Cal. 4 Final Fours and a title. Unbelievable talent coming through and 99.9% of which are good guys that love the program and give back.

Basketball is a funny game. Matchups, peaking, and the right pieces fitting together. We'll keep knocking and hang another one sooner than later.

Here's the best way to look at Cal's teams:

Best players bottom line - Overwhelming favorites [cheers] - 2010 (Wall and Cousins, etc.) and 2012 (Davis and MKG, etc.)
Best collection of players across the board (but another team has best players) - Co-favorites :cool2: - 2015 (Harrisons, WCS, Lyles, etc.)
Solid players with solid NBA potential - We've got a shot  - 2011 (Knight, Jones, etc.) and 2014 (Harrisons, Randle, Young, etc.)
Some talent, but it just isn't there across the board - Ummm, no :alien: - 2013 and 2016

Next year is shaping up to be a 2010 and 2012 season with the best players bottom line...Fox, Monk, etc.

So let's just sit back and have a Coke (taking WCC's advice here), quit getting pissed, and enjoy it for what it is....UK Basketball. We'll be the overwhelming favorites every other year or 3. And that's pretty damn sweet.

Basically being a sports fan is terrible. On one hand, I'm down on UK because they're not murdering everyone this year and I expect that, and when I don't get it, I'm unhappy... Maybe I should look into being a full time politard.
Cut cable, pick up a Kindle Unlimited subscription, and keep reading about the Third Reich for some reason. I feel great about things.

With all that said, I expect the ol' double-whammy. Bama isn't a bad team at all. And the F'ing Bengals??? LOL Something tells me Cincinnati is going to be drunk and angry late Saturday night.

Anyone else notice the constant hypocrisy in Chad's posts?

This is the *exact* type of post that would send him ranting about us being "scared pussies", etc. [eyeroll]

I've thought about that Lebanese American Country Club -- Big Blue Country has game parties there a lot.

Brothers and I have been discussing a membership to the German-American Club here in Louisville. Not really sure where we're going with that, though. Think it's likely just a veiled threat against our wives.
Place hosted all our fraternity parties. I love that place. GREAT PEOPLE.

Always wondered how you get to that place, after seeing it nearly every day from 264.

Behind the Gas Station/Wendy's/KMart on Poplar Level. We use to always attend the WingDing on the Thursday(IIRC) night of Derby Week. Not even sure if they still do that. I actually put the roof on that little building out there. After a particularly rowdy party we did a little maintenance project for them so they'd let us back.

You're so GD dense. Must be all the gravy in your veins.

There is BIIIIIIIG difference between the #1 program of all-time Kentucky Wildcats and a disaster of a franchise that hasn't won a playoff game in 25 years who's playing his nemesis who has beaten them at home like 20 of the last 25x they've played.

Perhaps, you're pointing to UK football- and once again, there's a big difference in the "0-6 in playoff games under this coach" Bengals playing the Steelers and UK having to take 2/3 against shitburgers Charlotte, Vandy and Louisville.

Does Trinity/Saint X have a "Fellowship Hall" with beer on tap, big screens, ping pong, to get sloshed after football games and use for functions like Cov Cath?

Thursday Randos:

- Where does Poythress rate as far as "Most Frustrating Players of Your Lifetime"? He's got to be up there, consider how his career began and his immense athletic talents. Rod Rhodes would have to be anyone's #1, but Poythress is in the conversation after that.

AP makes first tier for sure but Rondo's sophomore year is my # 1.

I was sooo excited to see WTF that freak of a kid was gonna do after an up & down freshman year. Sparks comes back an out of shape fat touch and the team never gets off the ground. I know OTS had some blame in it but we never knew actually how hard Rondo was to play with or coach. He could have averaged near a triple double had the team actually got along with each other and the head coach, IMO. What a waste. Prick.

Would have been my favorite backcourt ever, to never be topped.

-For you Pitt haters, McCarron will be the 6th straight backup the Steelers have faced as they rallied into the playoffs. [laughing]

To extend the conversation about the regular season being a grind...it's a point that has been made several times on here but worth repeating ==> the college bball product just isn't that good.

Most of us grew up watching the peak of college basketball, imo, which was the late 80's throughout the 90's. At that point a foul was still a foul, talented players may leave early but mostly stayed around and the teams were just great, the product was great.

At some point coaches became the stars because the most talented players either weren't going to college or were going after one year. Now it's just a bunch of over-coached ******** passed off as basketball. Guys like Pitino 2.0 figured out these part time refs couldn't/wouldn't call every foul and that you could win with less talent if you made the game a rock fight...and others followed suit.

Now, we take these talented teams that Cal has blessed us with to Athens on a Tuesday night and try to run some form of offense against a sagging zone D while getting hip checked on every cut and arm barred on every drive and eek out some sort of 8 point victory so we don't have a black mark on our resume for selection Sunday.

The NBA had a single person in charge who had the power and finally said "enough is enough" and fixed the product before it died on a vine while 36 year old Charles Barkley dribbled out the shot clock iso for a fall away 18 footer ==> now you have Steph Curry. Hell, Steph is better in the NBA than he was a Davidson partly because of the damn rules.

Anyway, until the NCAA can figure out a way to fix their own house like the league has, we will continue to grind out regular seasons. Just enjoy the talent we have, all be it, less this year than most.

The only downside is Diocese won't let them serve alcohol before the games, per my buddy (a stand-up, Ft Wright resident).

You guys might be too Bible Belt Adjacent to pull it off, I guess.
Shoot walk in there and theres cases of Bush Light just sitting there. Have a feeling there's a lot of winking and nodding going on with that rule.

The reconstructed old basketball floor is a nice touch tho
