I had salmonella in between my freshman and sophomore year of high school, thanks to a tainted ham and cheese sandwich from our country club. Did you know you can crap yourself while you pass out from a high fever? You can.

And that's my salmonella story!

- Some expected rust Saturday. Got plenty of time to get straight before a real game.

- If the back up QB starts, do we come close to covering? Don't think so.

- Now if Ball State loses 75-0 to UGA this weekend, I may get concerned.

- That ref that cost us 7 should get suspended. What a horrible call. No chance he blows that whistle at Bama.

- This Fox channel/Directv issue cost me the best game of the weekend.

- Don't believe Coco is the second coming of Serena, but she absolutely drilled Ostapenko today.

Truth. I am not sure the $$ but Cal is a very demanding dude that expects a lot. There is a reason people don’t stay in that job for very long. It has to be exhausting

TJ is a very smart and funny guy. UK is going to miss him. He was the last person (besides Orlando) who could tell Cal what he didn’t want to hear. He needs to find another one
Bruiser!!!

Kidding, obviously

My wife almost died from salmonella. She didn’t have the puking or anything like that. Apparently that’s the move though because holding it in destroyed her digestive system. This involved surgery and a 10 day hospital stay. Our doctor told me she was about 2 hours away from being in the ICU.

Seems like salmon is the only dish you see prepared on cedar planks, kinda like left-handed pitchers are the only baseball players referred to as "crafty". Really makes you think.

Z can speak English and 4 languages but can’t get an exemption. SMDH. Do these people not realize how bad BJW is gonna take this and the repercussions they’re about to go through. FFS get him enrolled and then get it straightened out. Someone definitely has a death wish that’s about to become a reality.

Have had Sam&Emma twice and had the restaurants offer to pay for the treatments. Felt like I was dying but just dealt with the consequences at home. They then offered free dinners but politely told them where to shove it and have never been back. Fool me twice ATKOT, not happening.

Cincy hung 66 on EKU. I’ll wait until after this week to judge the teams outlook for the season.

I once dropped a UK class after the first day because the professor's English was too broken.

Sundar Kingsley was quite hard to understand in my Intro to Computers freshman year. Also a calculus professor pronounced “straight line” as “strychnine”. I didn’t do well in either class.

  • I don't know if kids are better athletes than they once were - I actually sort of doubt it given how they specialize - but skill-wise it's no contest. Kids are so much better. I think back to my days playing high-level high school baseball (we won states), and my idiot coach had us convinced that hitting a hard grounder to the second baseman was the greatest hit in baseball. "Yes son, you did hit a HR, but you were way out in front of it and pulled it down the line. Focus on taking that pitch the other way - and have your swing be more level". I mean what in the F? That BS probably cost me 10 HRs in high school. I love that launch angle is something even high schoolers are thinking about too. Screw the old-timers.
  • I think I want to fish more. I used to think it was a lot like playing the slot machine. You cast/pull and hopefully you catch a fish / win some money - mostly luck. But thinking about standing in a big river out west fly fishing is something I'm going to do either this fall or next summer.
  • Started going back to Sunday School after a 28-year hiatus. Good group of adults in there; reminds me of my parents' Sunday School class back in the day. (As an aside, Richie - I've seen you in my church - ditch those Catholics you're hanging out with and come hang with me and Craig.) Anyway, the ritual of Sunday School is making me feel better about life and helps maintain a routine. Y'all should try it.

So after all of these years and all the players that have come through, UK admissions just all the sudden became irrational sticklers with one player? I ain’t buying it.

Someone probably messed up and, maybe it’s just me, I’m much more likely to believe it happened on the athletics/basketball/player side versus admissions abruptly and without warning refusing to do everything they can to get a player enrolled at UK.

I had food poisoning twice. The first time I had two buds at the fish tank and told the gal we had to go home. Spent the rest of the night puking and pooing in her bathroom apt and she never got up once.

Second time was in KW and the only time I’ve ever called in to work, was literally pooing every ten to fifteen minutes. Awful experience.

-the Croatian thing is mind boggling. We can’t get in a kid for an English language test that lives in Europe? As if he’s not fluent in multiple languages?

Hell when I took Arabic there were Arabic kids taking the class that already spoke fluent, just east credits for them.
