Taft'sAle House ha good food too. They specialize in the tri-tip genre, an homage to the same sorts of meals that made Taft really FAT, I guess.

Bates and Anna are poor communicators and it frustrates me enough to hope that Bates dies by literally falling on a sword.

Thursday Morning Hot Takes:

- I think I hate the arrogance with which Anth gives his awful takes these days much more so than the actual awful takes. I mean the dude's always been a marginal poster. It's his demeanor that's gotten worse and he seems to take pride in it for some reason. HOT TAKE.

*****, please. Don't get all pissy Chad because I took another shot at that **** hole you don't even live in.

Nice meal. Not pub, idiots. Also Taft is a cool place but the food left A LOT to be desired.

Not pissy at all. Just giving some hot takes.

OK, Fancyboi, maybe try D. Burnham's in the new Renaissance Inn on 4th Street. Checked it out for Restaurant Week and really liked it. Good ambiance as well.

Haven't eaten at Taft, but heard differently.

They are opening a new Senate in Blue Ash in the new park where the airport used to be. Right across from my office.

The bone marrow is the best I've ever had (admittedly only had it at like two other places), and the trailer park hot dog is :fire::fire:

trailer park

bacon wrapped beef hotdog, american cheese, coleslaw, crushed grippos & brioche bun

^^ if that aint Cincy, i'll kiss your ***.

Well, Yardhouse is a chain bar/beerhouse/restaurant. I've been to several.

Moerlein is a beer junt w/ food. We went together and treated it "as a bar"

Taft is a beer junt w/ food.

Learn Anthony, he's not looking for a Chicken Quesadilla w/ an IPA.

Went to Pies & Pints once, it took an hour to get our lunch order, got to listen to our server and the manager passive aggressively blame each other for why it took so long, and had to inform our server that the manager comped our meals when she brought us the check. Plus my char-grilled wings tasted like charcoal.

But, we've had their pizza brought in at work and the Chicken Gouda pizza is on of the best I've had.

-Don't care what you heard, the food at Taft is only ok. It's not terrible but I wouldn't go back for it. Neat building though.

Just go to The Precinct.

*Senate is also great. Mercer OTR is a nice space, but we only had apps there during a progressive dinner kind of night.

Well that's a step because you obviously can't win a Wild Card game in the rain you son of a *****.

Hey now, when I hit reply a bonus "you son of a *****" was added on your quote. I like that.

Speaking restaurants and wasting money. Indy is getting one of these: http://punchbowlsocial.com/

Basically a Dave and Busters for snobby grown-ups. It's about 5 blocks from my apt. I'll be wasting tons of money there. Great concept.

How bad is the food in that dumpster when I ask for "a nice meal in downtown not named Ruby's"? And I get a list of chain pubs or Jeff Ruby's Precinct.

[laughing]

Adrian or Brooks, give me 5 local great downtown meals in the best most safe Ohio River city? This shouldn't be so difficult.

Seriously though if you're going to eat nice downtown, Boca and Sotto are two good spots. Table is good too, plus you can piss Richie off by posting on how you went to a place named Table.

Precinct is good, obviously, just like any other Jeff Ruby's.

Honestly though I think you should go to the Chung Kiwha Korean BBQ in Florence right off of 75 on Route 18 because it's been open forever and you'd be like the 2nd person I "know" to have eaten there. Pretty sure it's a Korean mob junt.

Well yeah, so give me a few pretentious places to take my wife for a nice meal since we've been out alone to eat once in the past 6 months.

Metropole and The Mercer are good and both have good bars. Jimmy G's is good- I liked their steak as good as a Ruby's. All of them have the right sort of "see and be seen" 'sphere you're looking for to. But they do require you to possibly encounter some urbanity o be on the lookout.
