* Rogue, hopefully you learn your lesson and stop taking so much testosterone straight from the tap.

You don't have to prove your manhood by swallowing every time.

Get well, my man.

* Not sure if I have a slight hangover or a little bug. My 11-yo puked a few times yesterday and has been really lethargic. So I may have caught that. But on the other hand it could've been the beer and shots last night. I took it somewhat easy, but I don't recover like I used to.

I'm the only poor unfortunate soul working at the office today and there is a better than 50/50 chance that I will be puking in my garbage can in the next 15 minutes.

* Had a wonderful Christmas and Christmas Eve with the fam. I hope you all did as well.

I received bourbon, UK stuff (pjs, a black vest and a 1/4 zip fleece) and some weird cooking stuff–a really heavy duty pepper mill, a bunch of spices and a salt pig. I had to look that up. Had no idea what it was for.

* Enjoyed some Pappy 12 on Christmas Eve.

Bought an OHLQ exclusive The Burning Chair bourbon last week. Don't love it.

My nephew had given me a bourbon advent tree. That was fun. A lot of good, high proofers in there. Most of which I had never had.

* My MIL is putting my FIL who is suffering from dementia in a home tomorrow. It is awful. He knows enough that he is upset about it.

As expected, my MIL is really taking it hard. Knowing she is doing the right thing, but still not living with him after being married 60+ years.

He was a big strong man who played end on offense and defense for Xavier (all-time leading receiver) and played for the Buffalo Bills. Super sweet guy. On Christmas he was eating a paper napkin with a knife and fork. It is just so sad.

I love the man. This is rough.

* Touch Clemson.

Sorry your family is going through that. Can’t imagine how tough it must be.

Saw your text but I was packing the house up all day. Getting our floors done and moving in with the in-laws for a few weeks. Then comes baby.

My social activity is done for awhile.

Societal norms have become too relaxed say many.
Dress up for a nice dinner out, leave the baseball cap at home.
Can’t afford to tip appropriately, don’t go to said restaurant.
Keep your shoes on in all public places. It’s not hard.
comes from upbringing, parents are probably idiots too.

The problem, as I see it, is that the idea of being shamed has disappeared from society. It runs full gamut from men competing in womens sports to changing channels on an airplane with your bare feet.

My grandfather, a Colonel in the US ARMY, had a steadfast rule of no hats at the dinner table which caused a young AW much consternation. But I knew the rules and they were non-negotiable. I also have the same rule in my house, no hats or phones at the table. Drives me nuts when I see people out to eat, especially a nicer sit down place, with a hat on. And don’t get me started on funeral attire.

Now, get off my lawn you damn kids while I shake my fist angrily towards the clouds.

No worries.

One of my friend's wife decided she and her friends were going to go to Longneck's, too, which is a ******** move so we went over to the Banks instead.

Touching hens.

Boston is fun, if you hit the bars early and grab an early lunch. You want to be out of the pubs etc. by 1:30 or 2:00 pm, because by that time, the locals are pretty loaded, and starting to get torqued up.

(Mostly kidding of course, but the last time I was there, it WAS pretty suprising, how early that stuff got going.)

Willy, I’ve honestly debated whether or not I did right by refusing to put my mom or stepdad in a home. They got trapped in one as they refused to live with us and once they agreed to live with us my mom went wild and it ruint my relationship with her the last 5 months of her life.

I can honestly say if I had it to do again not knowing what I know, I’d be dumb enough to make the same mistakes.

But KNOWING what I know and the toll it took on my family, immediate and not, I’d have left them in a home.

I’m sure it won’t help but you can share that info it would.

It’s tough regardless so prayers sent for your family sir.

Will read everything later and post some but this **** is TOUCHING maddening. And sorry to beat everyone over the head with my ****.

Medical Professional “Hey you had a heart attack at a young age you need to spend four days on the hospital and see a cardiologist.”

Cardiologist “You HAVE to have two tests! We’ll get you in JANUARY 30th & MARCH 7th, no problem pal. But hey if you DIE in the meantime, thems the breaks! 🤷‍♂️

American Medical System = Joke

Yes I am working on a different cardiologist and yea I’m saying touch it and going back to lifting.

- rogue, speaking as a fellow meathead, please don't rush back to lifting. apologize for being blunt, but it will always be there and you may not be if you push it too soon. I lost two friends who were lifters to massive heart attacks in 2020 and 2022. Sometimes the answers as to why cardiac events hit aren't immediately clear, but my dude, as difficult as I know it is, give it time. Maybe a light walk around the neighborhood or something, but please take it easy. I hope you get in for a second opinion ASAP.

- after a round of antibiotics and prednisone, whatever miserable plague I've had was definitely viral after all! neat! I ended up testing negative 3x for rona, surprising my doc, and I still feel like a puny bag of **** a week later. I couldn't do anything but lay on the couch and slip in and out of sleep for four days, and didn't leave the house for six days straight. gross. I guess I'm thankful it hit last week and not in the next six weeks since I've got two massive trials in February. eff, man. Take your vitamins or whatever.

- But shoutout to steroids for giving me the energy to keep up with my nephews on Christmas Eve and show off my extreme Lego assembly skillz after a Nerf war. I was exhausted but we had so much fun. why we do this, etc.

- as crappy as I have felt physically, and as hard as it is to be away from my immediate family during the holidays, casa de pretzel had a lovely Christmas. hope all my Wildcat friends and none of my Tarheel enemies experienced the same.

If you took a poll: Who is going to have a heart attack first?

HymanKaplan (old, angry, drinks too much, smoked for 30 plus years, and an established and well documented life-long pattern of drug abuse)

OR...

Rogue - makes quetionable dating decisions, but seems relatively low-stressed, eats well, doesn't smoke, and spends, what I would consider to be, an inordinate amount of time staying in shape.

IF there had been a line in Vegas, someone could have taken a flier on rogue and made bank.
Tell me who if any has a history of heart disease in their ancestors and I may touch that bet.

Pretty clutch & unexpected season from Neal Brown, damn. Dude was DEAD to 80% (conservative?) of their fanbase coming into this year. And worse than that after the opener.

Good for him. Seemed to adapt a bit in the face of criticism with regards to his painfully conservative style of ball. Love to see it.

Hopefully Stoops follows through on a bit of that as he’s now finally openly talking about…

…believe it when I see it, BUT Cal incredibly has, so not impossible?

- I mean F Louisville.

- Read a WSJ article- the least expensive college dorm bed has increased 70% over 20 years inflation-adjusted.

- UK fans are a blessing to their loved ones in so many ways- not the least of which is being an easy gift. Buy us anything with Kentucky on it for any occasion and we’re perfectly happy.

- My wife- a successful and educated woman- F’d up a Christmas baking recipe because she didn’t realize the stove wasn’t in Celsius.

- How is Michigan favored when every person on earth is picking Bama?

- I took a Folklore class at UK and did a halfass project on UK sports fandom- UK dens, decorations and whatnot. Always thought that would be a cool deep study though- UK fan art. My dad’s UK basement is full of ridiculous memorabilia he’s picked up through the years from local artisans, court days, estate sales, ebay, etc. Who are these people? How much money do they make? The 70s and 80s **** is legit.

-Mom’s husband, an amazing man I dearly love, has one flaw, UL fan.

During Louisville games mom plays nice in front of him while we secretly text back and forth deriding and lambasting Louisville, it’s great.

Speaking of Mom, she gets here tomorrow, couldn’t be more excited to see someone. Hollander extended her a night as well, cool boutique hotel if you ever stay in SP.

-My manhood is set in stone, so I’m okay saying this but it’s the damndest thing, since my HA I can see a damn commercial with 2 happy golden retriever puppies playing and I’ll want to cry 😂.

Don’t even think about bringing a gym up. I mean, it’s really funny but also a symptom of a serious event but apparently common. Who knew?

-The Fake Sheik doc on Prime is pretty good but Reacher was outstanding.
