No, but our gracious host did say she alerted Lake Dreamland FD that a bunch of old dudes would be playing on Mondays, and to be available.

-Lol at Kanye/Wiz on Twitter.

That fact that I am pretty sure it started over a misunderstanding is the best part.

RE: Basketball -- umm, it's really not that exciting. A bunch of dudes playing marginal basketball for a few hours per week having fun and getting some good exercise. Happens every day all over the world, including most of your gyms -- you guys should get out more.

Um, the way you talk and with your mad skills, figure it should be quality entertainment watching you brake some ankles.

Anth was a bit of the inspiration on this but LSAT and I decided to take spur of the moment weekend trip to NOLA Thursday. Needed to get away as most of you parents w/ toddlers can relate.

Haven't taken a trip (just us) since before our daughter was born. Will be hard on the mom as she's never been away from her that long but we're excited nonetheless. Staying in French Q adjacent to Jackson Square - plan to hit Frenchman St hard. Cannot wait. Guess I'll find some bar to watch these Kates then head over to Maison for some good tunes & laughs.

Nah, my handles are busted these days. Guess that happens when you go 3-4 years in between games. Sure they'll come back, but It's really maddening.

Stroke is still there. I'll be good for the first game...then, I'll just hang out around mid court and hope for an outlet or two, like Jamal Murray. :fire:

-Feel free to drive up any time, Pope. You can SHOW US HOW IT'S DONE!

<----- is up at 11pm 1-2 times per week, on average. My normal bedtime is much closer to 9.

Once the game starts, those feelings go way -- unless, of course, it's one of our **** games...which these types often are.

Really hope Pti has splurged on some curtains or blinds for my trip to Nola next week. I wake up when sunlight hits me. Maybe I should just pack some.

19.5 points is a **** ton to lay, even with an anemic Mizzu team.

Can see a combo of us getting up early / looking ahead to Saturday + Cal's propensity for going all deflate gate on the offense and it being a ho-hum 2nd half. 13 point win that's never in doubt, never fully in gear.

Speaking of Mizzu...

...how bout old Matthew Mauk doing his best Belushi impersonation on Vine. Of course powder is always around these guys but how dumb do you have to be to let someone film you snow skiing?

If only we could pay these guys.

Ol' dad is about to play in the wife's church's basketball league. Teams are completely random, and I haven't played in forever, so it should be a glorious shitshow. Best part is I get to buy some new basketball shoes. So at least I'll look good walking slowly up the court.

Dudes I work with play in a neighborhood league every Sunday night. They get a full keg each week, which I really don't understand. I mean, slamming keg beer and running full court hoops? In your 30's and 40's?

[laughing] that doesn't sound dangerous at all.

Where in the world allows this, btw? I'll shoot Ms. BellyDancer an email and see if it's cool at her school. Maybe a Pony Keg would be allowed, but probably not a full one.

if playing basketball is a shitshow that inevitably leads to broken bones, pulled hamstrings, torn muscles, and extreme cramping, then it's time to hit.the.pavement.

good lord, you people are a bunch of lazy fatasses.

That's a private country club. This is the nearby neighborhood off Dorsey that has a pool and indoor gym. Pretty dope, really.

Don't think I'll every play full court basketball again. The last time I played I felt like my heart was going to explode after just a couple times up and down the court. Of course, I was a smoker then, so I'm sure that didn't help, but still...I'm pretty sure I'd drop dead if I just started trying to play full court without getting in decent shape first.

Extravaganza had an indoor gym at Park Place in Lexington....nobody was ever in there, we flat tore that thing up -- you could even lower the goals, which made for fun games of extreme horse & whatnot. We took beer in there as well.

-PTI(pti) is dumb, what's new? His marathon running *** would be DRAGGING *** if he played full court basketball. Of course, he doesn't understand this b/c he's never played before...

You can get in basketball shape by doing one thing --------> playing basketball. This is common knowledge for anyone who's played *actual* sports.

...and considering he gets injured about every 4 months slowly jogging & powerwalking in straight lines, also pretty funny he thinks little nagging injuries (pulled hammy, turned ankle, etc) for mid 30s people playing hoops for the first time in 5 years would be out of the question.

Then again, injuries never happen in basketball to people who are in shape.

A beer 5K is a novelty though, so it kinda makes sense. I guess.

Having a keg for a regular full court basketball league? lol

Didn't he screw his back up riding a bike?

- Been on a big "Handel on the Law" kick during office hours at work. Not a fan of sports talk this time of year, especially with the damn Panthers in the Super Bowl.

Probably the best show in the history of radio. Would like to hear a UCL, CooCat, and MaxPowerrr version.

- Stick with Six Feet Under, BBdK...I hated the first episode, but it really started growing on me after the first half of the season. It gets REALLY good.

- Usually pro 9PM games...but mistakenly thought this week was a Tuesday game and made plans with Meow for tonight. Still in the "testing" phase with her, so getting out of it would be overreaching.

no worries. a couple games of knockout, and you'll be right back in "basketball shape," per bbdk.

Never really found much potential in recycling old girlfriends. Sure, if you're desperate for some action its convenient, but invariably the things that led to the original breakup will resurface. IMO

-Worth repeating, PTI(pti) is dumb. BBdK said nothing of the sort, quite the opposite, actually.

Go play in the warm sun you dbag.

Thought the tip was at 7 tonight could have swore my ESPN app said so as well. Oh well.

It will be interesting to see if A&M can handle the 40 minutes of hell tonight as easily as we did.

Eh, we are really good together...dated for almost four years, I was too immature to take the next step...things are different now. We're both in our careers, grown up, stable...it's a good thing. Can't fault her for seeing if I've "really" grown up though.

Ask Dr. @PTI (pti) :

Doc, if I want to prevent cramps after a pickup basketball game should I drink lots of fluids before and after or should I hit the pavement for 50 miles per week?

False. Sundays are the only time I go out, usually day drink and get home by 12. Usually 2-3 Saturday nights a month too.
