When it comes to UK sports, I have my superstitions (certain shirts, food,, etc) but there been some signs this week.
"Year of the Cat" was on the radio a few days ago (this started in 1998 when I had not heard the song in years but heard it the week prior to the 1998 NCAA tourney and it will pop up at weird times before a big UK moment, the last time was the week of the Kansas game where we blew them out at Lawrence but that luck didn't hold for the season).
I was driving down I-65 from Louisville on Monday and there's a semi with these mud flaps that had "STOOPS" on them which is the name of some truck parts place but the first time I've ever seen it, and then Wednesday was watching some YouTube videos of breakdowns of the Florida game and analysis/prediction of the Georgia game and sometimes when a video ends it will run into another video of something you didn't select and you don't know why it wound up on that. But I'm cleaning in the kitchen and can hear the TV in the other room when I hear Al Michaels "Do you believe in miracles???" and some 20 minute doc on the "Miracle on Ice" had come on which I then had to stop and watch.
Make of that what you will but I'll also add I'm getting sick of the disrespect all week, patting us on the head and then going on about how bad Florida sucks, even some of our so-called fans. Anyone picking Georgia by two or more scores needs to GTFO with that. Our guys are gonna find a way tomorrow.
