Back from Vegas....
Palazzo room overlooking The Sphere and the Wynn Golf Club. Great room. Slots & video poker not kind. Table game minimums were too rich for my crew. Played BJ, 3 Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em downtown.
Wife had her biggest win ever. She had the A, Q, 10 of hearts on 3-card poker for a flush win. I also had a flush, but saw her hand and said out loud to the dealer "Please have the other 2 hearts under there." Dealer flips her cards, I see the J and K revealed and I yelled a HOLY ****, YOU GOT THE ROYAL FLUSH! Here's where it gets crazy. The dealer paid the flush but NOT the 6-card royal at 1,000 to 1 on the dollar bet. Then she chucked the cards to the discard pile. I stopped her and asked her why she didn't pay the 6-card win. She looked puzzled and said she didn't hit it. I told her, "You need to pull those cards and check it again. She had a royal." She pulled them, realized her mistake, then called over the put boss to tell him what happened. Super cool dude, he handled it very professionally and got my wife paid after double-checking the video tape. I'm guessing that dealer got some grief over almost missing that hit.
Fountainbleu is stunning. Can't gush enough about the place. A long time coming, but the end result is gorgeous. Tier matched as well.
The Sphere film is pricy but worth doing once. I would like to see a concert there at some point. Atomic Saloon at The Venetian was raunchy, hilarious, and fun. Highly recommend any Spiegelworld show, but Absinthe at Caesar's Palace would still be my pick. The Beatles LOVE Cirque show at Mirage (soon to be Hard Rock) is the best I've seen and the highlight of the trip IMO. Wives did some Harry Potter-themed comedy show at Horseshoe while the guys went down strip to MGM Grand for gambol.
MGM Grand sports book is starting to show its age. TVs are old and fuzzy now. Watched and bet the UK- Bama game there, met some folks from Louisville (1 was a Cayts fane). Disappointed that they essentially shove the app down your throat to even walk in there. Pain in the *** to sign up on site. Almost missed betting before tip. Money was made. Tight on the drink comps, and the waitress overcharged us for a round.
We got it back on their Cherries Jubilee slots. Had a tip they were the easiest slots anywhere to get a hand pay jackpot. My buddy hit it for a grand with $9 to spare on a $40 investment. I hit it later that night myself with $13 left on a $100 after whiffing on an earlier try. Seriously, those slots are well worth a swing at them.
Michael Jackson One Cirque show was decent. Probably would not do again. Of course did the Purple Reign tribute show at the very depressing-looking Tropicana, as our crew knew some of the band members personally. Per usual, Prince's first MIL was front and center, as she is every weekend. Good riddance, Trop, 4/2/2024.
It's nice to kick Nate Oats' **** in. Real nice.
