Prescient thread. I put in a request for almond butter on Sunday's grocery list.

I knew it was going to be bad and only wasted a quarter of the bread slice as substrate. Took one bite. Awful.

Luckily, ISYN, I had my Creamy Jif sitting there to save the day and made my self 7/8 of an acceptable sandwich with what remained.

That jar later joined the can from the the noble "Lentil Soup Experiment of 2014" at the back of the pantry. It was like the closing scene from Raiders.

Almond butter isn't terrible.

But like Sloot says, once you get used to Natural (no sugar or whatever added), it's just as good as the real thing. Not too unlike Diet Coke, imo.

Jif tastes like "dessert" at this point, just as Sloot said.

Making your own in the Vitamix is pretty wodie too! Dump in Peanuts, turn on machine, pinch of salt if you're feeling CRAZY!, and enjoy.

-no real preference on PB but regular saltines are a must. We have some bs organic saltines that look like clubs. Not a fan.

I love me some Rafferty's. Always make me think of Lexington...as does reloading at O'Charley's.

I maybe went to Rafferty's 2-3 times in my 5 years in Lexington.

I went to O'Charley's maybe 2-3 hundred times.

Rafferty's >>>>>> O'Charley's from a food perspective or for an adult experience IMO, but when your best bud bar tends there as a college poor, it's pretty much a no brainer.

Advantage OC BIGTIME too for atmosphere/happy hour for a college kid as well. Loved that place. Not sure I've been since, however...although I'm not opposed to some Rolls, cup of Potato Queso, and a Buffalo Chix Sambo sometime for old timey sake. Tallboy Miller Lite please :sunglasses:

Pti would provide chips and salsa, potato soup, dessert and booze. Basically anything he could grab without ringing it in. The day I drank miller lite draft, add vodka shots to the beer, was not good.

I waited tables at Rafferty's, but there was no way to give away food. We did occasionally get a chicken finger from the cooks that you had to shove in your mouth before a manager saw you.

Exactly. I loved that version of PTI(pti)

Damn, I loved everything about that time in my life. Not sure i will ever completely get over the fact that I'll never be in college again. Man, that just sucks. ****.

Anyone else go through this now & again? Ugh. Pretty much every time I hit Waller from Mason Headley on the way in town...

I like crunchy because I never get it. Like creamy just fine too. But I think we can all agree that the peanut butter you have to stir before you eat can GGP and DIAF.

I hope Rex continues to get the help he needs.

But, like other addicts, I don't believe anything or place any validity in what he says. The fact that the media keeps giving him a platform to get clicks/ears is kinda gross.

OWNED the Tiger/Phil debate, but won't get the credit I deserve until those two are dead.

Craig Yeasts kid doesn't make me feel old. Makes me feel like he had a kid at like 19 years old. Jesus Christ, Craig.

Peanut butter is nothing without chocolate.

If you think Scientology is weird, try reading about Christianity. Whew. WACKO stories in that book.

Nice little 8 mile jog in the 100+ index today, followed up by a dip in the hotel pool. Felt like gd bath water.

Pete Rose has taken ZERO accountability. At least Rex appears to be tackling his demons. Sure hope so. Prescription painkillers are a joke.

I'll MAKE pron with my boys, but sure won't watch it. That's sick.

O'Charley's on Nicholasville was a staple for me at least once a week for 3 years. 1/2 price wings on a bed of tortilla chips with celery and blue cheese, washed down by a pitcher, added up to about 10 bucks including tip in 97.

Best buddy lived off Heather Way so O'Chucks was always the "starting point." I miss college too. Man.

We weren't just sitting back there watching porn. The subject of puffy nips came up and B$ didn't know what they were. I found a few examples online and shared them with the group.

By coincidence, a poster named Puffy Nips made some mean comments about some hot chick's sphincter problems on KSR shortly after that.

That was a great trip. 80 and CoolCat were drinking bourbon by the handle full and Anth & I were chugging Vodka Redbulls in the back while researching puffy nips.

Plus, just look at the pictures from earlier and see for yourself how hot Mrs. 80 and Mrs. Anth were (are).

Throw in Pearman1973 as our pilot and pizza provider and you pretty much had a perfect road trip.

How good was that pizza in St. Looey and how fast did we crush it?

Imo's is pretty ridiculous. Finished a couple XLs before we made it back on the Highway. Worship.

The puke in the sink was an all-time roadtrip low though. He broke a lamp as well.

Worst case of food poisoning I ever had was from O'Charley's on Richmond Road back in 2002. Had a gift card there for whatever reason, so I went in and had ribs and coleslaw. I noticed at the time that the slaw was a little off and just had a few bites but apparently it was a few too many. Projectile vomiting started around 3:00 in the morning and last for hours until violent dry heaves were achieved.

73, you were the champ cleaning that puke up, too.

How in the hell did CoolCat lock the bathroom door without being in there?

Gross.

We didn't even hit the bars did we? Just that patio and back to the hotel. Crushed the next day though. Shew.

-childhood, college, dinks, marriage, kids, mid life, golden years, retirement. All have their ups and downs. So far no regrets or problems putting one era behind to start the next.

So what's the deal with Rupp, last year we were working on a 300 million renovation and now we get just a 15 mil upgrade?

Ummm, we came up 30 mil short last year. Where is the drive to get this done?

Has to wait until it can go in front of the state again for funding. I think that is next year, 80? Mags? Apparently the major upgrades will not over lap and can be used after the projected renovations. Really fix that scoreboard and I'm fine. I still love Rupp the way it is. I mean I'd LOVE a reseat like we just did in CW but I still like watching games in the current Rupp.

huh, though the big ticket Rupp rebuild was dead and buried and rotting. they local yahoos made a big deal saying it was all UK Admin's fault for not being supportive enough*. So this is just a little minimal upkeep spending the city is doing as a temporary replacement until the major upgrades become politically and financially viable.

*meaning not surrendering to paying millions more as compared to UL with Yum

Lexington owns Rupp and the Lexington Center and had the plan for the park and Rupp to go through all at once. Eli pulled the rug out from under the city of Lexington's proposals late in the game and sabotaged the plan at the state level because he was afraid it would take away from funding from the state to UK's general funding. Lexington has moved on with the park with municipal, state, and federal funding but they aren't doing anything on Rupp.

The LCC is issuing bonds for the $15 mil in work they are doing to the arena, so no tax dollars are going into the improvement.

I think Eli wants to eventually have an on campus arena funded with private investment like he's done with the dorms.
