oh believe you me, the surprise element will be present. in spades. over touching flowing with surprise, when you walk in sporting your wal mart brand blue jean overalls, tinted straw hat, and worn out henley tee.

yes, HUGE surprise element. enjoy.

Oyster takes? Had some this weekend. I like the raws, but you barely taste them.

I love the Apalachicola oysters from Florida, big and meaty. Some people prefer smaller, sweeter or saltier ones. On the half shell, drop of cocktail and horseradish for me.

But they best in the world are Drago's grilled oysters in Nola. Have the Pti's take you there.

I stayed up and watched Colbert last night. Mixed bag. He crushed the Weekend Update style jokes at the desk, his monologue was decent, the show had a ton of energy, but his interviews were awful. Clooney was always a great guest on Dave, but last night he had no chemistry with Colbert. The whole thing was just to set up some silly vignettes. If it's going to be a traditional style talk show perhaps work on the actual talk aspect.

Overall, it was better than a disinterested Letterman, but nowhere near as good as an engaged Letterman with a guest he either really enjoyed or couldn't stand at all. Currently Kimmel is probably the guy I most enjoy in late night, but I consume his content via YouTube clips for the most part as I am asleep before the show actually airs.

I'm a big oyster fan.

Had some great ones in Destin this summer. The best I've had were in New Orleans.

On the half shell, char grilled, smoked and even fried on a po boy are all A+. Love 'em all, but char grilled are my personal favorite.

I love Oysters in all forms, but Destin's may be a little big for me...

Maybe it was the combination of being drunk with the Oyster, but some of the ones we had at the place (Upstairs, Harry T's maybe?) right in front of Emerald Grande were 2-3 bites big, that's too much imo.

Boathouse Oyster Bar is where I had them in Destin. Very good. The bloody mary might've been even better.

"And I'm not even TOUCHING KIDDING" [laughing]

[laughing]

Being a nonmarried, nonbreeding, non invited house guest-I would have surely caught it with both barrels.

Boathouse definitely one of the best spots in Destin for oysters, also love High tides on Okaloosa island.

Yeah, Doc, and I don't even care that your laptop was here. At least I would have told you that on Saturday.

In hindsight, I'm also blaming it on the game going later than I anticipated.

The good news is that G got his shots yesterday and between that and the Tylenol, everyone got a really good night's sleep last night. Hopefully I can carry it into next Saturday because if we beat Florida, a post game celebraish is welcome. (I just might sleep through it.)

As she said, I think she just assumed it was a bunch of randos coming back for a little party...she didn't even look to see, was on the warpath.

Nobody was even really drunk at that point. Lass & I were waiting to go to bed, and 80s/Bellydancers were just waiting to get their keys and leave.

It was pretty scary tho. :alien:

-Florida game is gonna be bonkers, everyone better come ready to perform pre/post game, opps like these will be few & far between.

Post-partum, sleep-deprived momma is the scariest creature on Earth. I remember multiple times when I loaded up UCL II and went on late-night drives out of pure fear.

'Hey, babe, I'm going to drive around with the baby for a while so you can get some sleep." = "I GOT TO GET THE F*** UP OUTTA HERE. ***** CRAZY."

I mean, are they all not the same/similar oysters?

Depends where they get them from. The big dogs come from Apalachicola, but its common they could come from nonlocal places. Just have to ask where they got them.

Happened to me this summer. Was in Apalachicola and the place I was jacked to try out, turned out had started importing. Lucky for me a local tipped me, and told me the new junt. They were right, much better quality, freshness, and taste.

Per Anth Saturday, "Things should be back to normal here in a few weeks"

-How was Annie Café or wherever you ended up last week, '73? Sucks that VK is closed on Wednesday, I forget about that often & have been going there for 15 years.

It was good...took it home, so it could've been a little warmer...that's my fault. But it wasn't K6 or K8. That's what I really wanted. What a random day (Wednesday) to be closed. Craving it again today. Just not convenient for me to get to on Tu/Th/Fr or weekends. Monday it is.

Yeah, Annie is just as good for Pho, Soups, etc...but the lack of the K-line/style of stuff is disappointing.

If you can ever pry away from K8, give VK's pineapple chicken curry (extry spicy) a try. It's incredible. I don't roll to those spots til winter time, but it's so damn good.

They actually have a Pad Thai now as well, haven't enjoyed.

Personally, I think when a kid becomes mobile is when things become a bit more difficult. But maybe that's just me. Our daughter slept well, and that's half the battle with infants. Once they can move around and destroy themselves, it becomes a bit more hectic, IMO.

You don't realize just how many "unsafe" situations you have in your house until your kids go mobile. You basically have to create "safeways" for the kids to walk/roam about..keep them corralled. Padded walls help. If you have levers for door handles, good luck.

When the first one started walking I invested in a do-it-yourself electric dog fence. They don't really have to be buried underground, you know.

I duct taped the wires in the hallway and was able to keep the kids away from steps, sharp corners and my baseball card collection.

Once they figure out how to take the collars off you are pretty much screwed, though.

our daughter had colic really bad and my wife went legit insane dealing with her and our other 2 kids during that 3 month period of sleepless nights and no breathing room. I think her rock bottom was flipping me off right in front of the dang neighbors when I decided to mow the grass on Mother's Day.
I remember getting yelled at for "taking too long" shoveling the driveway one afternoon and she was inside with a no- sleeping newborn and a no-eating two year old for a few hours.

-by normal I meant the tailgates and like BBdK said the tailgate was pretty normal. The new normal.

-sleep. If I can get that I'm fine. Terrified of him going rover but sleep. Actually the little dude is awesome its really us that are being the whinny little bitches.

-lol. BBdK saying no one was drunk. I love you dude but you were in repeat mode and anyone who's your friend knows exactly what I'm talking about.

-scary watching sloot get sideways and basically catch herself doing it. She honestly felt terrible about saturday especially since everyone really stepped up their game and was awesome. But yeah, long *** day.

-strong won a sugar bowl at UL. He may suck but that's pretty effing good.

-Mr Robot.6-Finale is as good as tv gets.

-watched narcos last. Solid first ep. Is Netflix to chromecast new? That was nice.

I'd have to agree, with the addition of a few babies it was business as usual. Actually pretty solid turnout.

You told us way in advance that after the game wasn't gonna happen, so in no way am I surprised. Everybody has an off night, glad to see Sloot is in fact human[winking]

RE: The Civil War on PBS

How has the remastering changed "The Civil War"?

Burns: What you're seeing in there is much greater detail in old archives. ... There's image stabilization. The colors — the iconic image that people remember from 'The Civil War' — is a cannon silhouetted on a sunset with a smear of orange. Well, that turns out to be purple and red and yellow as well as orange and blue and black and gray and all shades in between. That's now in there. The film I'm looking at, the film we've just restored, looks like what I saw through the viewfinder, which is an incredible gift, not just to me, but I think to our audience, who deserves to see the new details.

FTR I wasn't being sarcastic. Had my JJ Watt model Reebok Pumps and an ice cold newly re-released can of Surge and was watching the remastered Ken Burns Civil War doc last night.
