College is affordable. The college that gives dad an erection about bragging that their kid went there typically is not.

What about a guy that spends $250,000 on undergrad, $150,00 for his MBA and another $300,000 for law school, and then becomes a builder? Good move?

Did any of you TV-heads watch Hannibal?

It's on Amazon Prime Instant Video and it's just a series of gory art house films. Awesome stuff.

- [laughing] Drew did a good job with this Spurrier history of quotes. How can you not love that guy?

- Pretty impressive Fans of the Day, too. :flushed:

Back in his Gator days, I used to hate Spurrier in a similar way that I hated Knight.

...pretty much love him now. :sunglasses:

- 1, 3, 2, 4...but it's close in the Top 3.

- @B.B.d.K., have fun in Vegas, brother. Don't get in too much trouble after Lauren passes out for the night.

- Gotta admit I get jealous of universities with historical region-specific nicknames like Minutemen, Jayhawks, Tar Heels, Volunteers, Sooners, etc.

- I am really enjoying UNC's recruiting woes. The state has a STACKED '16 class- Giles, Smith, Adebayo and Killeya-Jones- and those hypocritical bastards aren't going to land any of them. Roy has become Tubby and I fully expect this year's squad to disappoint as well.

- Nice lineup Saturday night to watch before and after UK- Oklahoma @ Tennessee, Oregon @ Michigan State, LSU @ Mississippi State. Curious about Butch Jones at UT. Is he good enough? Saturday will tell us a lot.

- My one weekend all year that I have to work. Oh well. I'll be finished by mid-afternoon tomorrow...and then, it's on.

- Hawaii's retro jerseys...

The Coach Cal UMass slurpfest is hilarious. Guy is a master troll. The UMass president should send a gift basket to the Memphis president for inspiring all this over the top free publicity.

Hard to ever feel 'bad' for Cal. He's as successful as it gets, and brings much of the crap on himself on purpose...

...but the Memphis deal is ********. What a bunch of whiny bitches.

Total Barnhart move on the part of the Memphis President. The **** storm surrounding his announcement that they were honoring Cal at a game was about as predictable as water being wet. He was completely tone deaf to his alumni, fans and donors. A nice acknowledgement in a press release and maybe sending Cal something would have been the proper call.

They're just getting started with golf, really. I expect that to improve big time in the coming years. Then again, Spieth is pretty pedestrian himself, so maybe not.

Nike does a great job of producing clean golf stuff without being boring. UA's stuff looks like Walmart gear.

I don't really like Nike Golf gear either, jmo. Something about Nike & Golf always rubbed me the wrong way. Clubs, balls, gloves, clothes, shoes....all of it.

Ashworth, ftw.

Exactly. If you aren't Tiger or Rory, it just doesn't work imo.

I have a few shirts/gifts that are plain shirts with a swoosh on the sleeve. They're fine, but I would never purchase.

For golf, Give me a generic solid colored $20 Ben Hogan (or whatever knockoff golf brand) over your flashy $60-$80 Nike Polo from Dick's all day.

Pretty much what I gathered- a bunch of Anths showing up rocking Nike from head-to-toe and a bag of expensive new clubs just shanking the ball everywhere, butchering up the course.

Love reading all of the fluff pieces on Cal that DeCourcy and others have written. Seth Davis wrote an interesting piece yesterday.

The national fellas get the real stuff from the coaches and the coaches tend to let their guard down with the national writers. To me it's fascinating to learn about who these coaches really are, their backgrounds that molded them
and what makes them tick. That SI piece written 4 yrs ago was the best.

Cal loves being the underdog and relishes in pissing off the establishment. You can see how as he moved up in his career why people either loved him of hated him. A brash, loud dude winning big at UMASS and always trying to punch up at UCONN, Temple and bringing attention to that program. The one constant throughout the years his how much he genuinely cares about his players and how would do anything for them. You can see/understand how/why he relates to inner city black kids from tough backgrounds and vice versa. Some of the stories out there about what he's done for former players and friends are amazing.

He's really out there in terms of what he believes his overall purpose is as a coach and especially being the coach at UK. The change in life cycles stuff and protecting the athlete and all of that is real.

Nike Golf shoes are pretty damn good. But that makes sense. The RZN balls are good as well. And their shorts are top notch. The polos work if you get a deal at Dillard's sales... $20 a few weeks ago.

I think you can tell a lot about a man by his choice of golf tee. if he plays the conventional wooden tee -- white, or natural -- he's got a shot at being a stand up dude. on the other hand, if he plays some gd sophisticated gadget...well, he can get pumped for all I care.

I think that's a big reason he relates to the UK fanbase so well. Sure, UK is perhaps the biggest program in CBB but we still have a chip on our shoulder. We still think everyone is out to get us. We've never been an NCAA or media sweetheart.

The best part about the R+F posts aren't even the initial cheesy one by the OP...

...it's the immediate canned/scripted comment by another R+F buddy just below, (usually ALWAYS the same person) that expands on the post.

The worst girl on my feed makes multiple posts per day, then has a comment below by the same other person, and usually only 1 'like' (the commenter). Wouldn't that alone tell you that nobody else gives a ****?

Can't say it any better than she did above. It's the best feeling not having to live check to check AND to have a Plan B should the unexpected occur. So blessed this business came into my life when it did. What are you waiting for?

Or if he wears 2 gloves (73). [eyeroll]

Lol, I can't think of anything that screams "HEY I'M GOING TO TEAR UP YOUR COURSE" more than wearing two golf gloves. I mean, wow.

-^ those guys are awesome. I'll sit on YouTube and scroll through their stuff every once in awhile.

- I don't think 2015-era Female knows what "blessed" really means.

- I love Puma gear. Best running shoes I've ever owned are Puma. For casual, I've always liked Adidas. Nikes for sporting endeavors.

Barnhart was faced with this *exact* scenario when CRP was inducted into the HOF and handled it perfectly with a full page ad congratulating him.

So, not really.
